As May begins, there’s a lot of activity taking place in your opposite star sign Cancer. Cancer rules relationships in your life, both personal and professional. Passion planet Mars is here until the 20th, although Mars rules anger as well as passion. Tempers could run high in your one-to-ones.
A gentler influence is Venus’ move into Cancer which takes place on the 7th. The planet of love and relating will remain in your relationship sector until early June. Make the most of this loving vibe. There’s a strong possibility that May could be eventful when it comes to love and your one-to-ones.
Lunar Eclipse
This has a lot to do with May being eclipse season. Eclipses are dramatic and they bring about change. It’s hard to stay stuck in your comfort zone when you have eclipse energy propelling you forwards. That’s not to say that eclipses are easy but they are a time when you can potentially turn your life around.
This month, there’s a Full Moon Lunar Eclipse on the 5th. This is part of the Taurus/Scorpio eclipse cycle which highlights the social axis of your horoscope. It’s about your friends and group activities. Also, your involvement with society, politics, community or humanitarian goals.
Plus, it’s about the things you give birth to, i.e. your creative urges. This includes your children, your lovers, your creative projects, your skills & talents.
This eclipse may highlight your self-expression out in the world and how others see you. These areas of your life could be shifting and changing as new lessons or learnings emerge. This eclipse cycle began in November 2021 and continues until October 2023.
The Uranus Factor
During the eclipse, the Moon in Scorpio is opposed by Uranus in Taurus and this adds an impulsive edge to the Full Moon energy. Plus, a few days later on the 9th, there’s a powerful Sun-Uranus conjunction in Taurus.
Other people’s behaviour could shock you on or around these key dates. Or, perhaps you realise you have to prioritise a child or lover in your life. Do what feels right for you without breaking the law or going over the top.
You might be tempted to behave impulsively, perhaps in the name of love. Alternatively, other people are out to shock you. Someone may make an independent move and embrace freedom rather than the group dynamic.
Try not to get overly involved in any dramas during the eclipse period. At the same time, ensure that you and the ones you love are safe and secure. It’s not a good time to take foolish risks, however incensed you may feel. Things could get heated and possibly controversial.
Mercury Direct
Plus, it’s not a good time to make big decisions or leap into something new while Mercury’s retrograde. The communication planet turned retrograde on April 21st and remains on go slow for the first two weeks of the month.
It’s only on the 15th that talk planet Mercury turns direct in your fellow earth sign Taurus. This is when new information could come to light or you see the truth of a situation. Someone who’s been quiet could speak up. And, it’s a positive date for you to reopen the lines of communication.
Taurus is an indulgent and sensual star sign linked to romance in your horoscope. Therefore, an on-off love affair could be back on with a bang. Taurus rules children too, so consider what this might mean for you and whether it’s time to reach out to try and resolve any misunderstandings.
Jupiter Goals – Good Times
There’s another significant shift mid-month that takes place on the 16th, the day after Mercury turns direct. This is when big planet Jupiter enters your fellow earth sign Taurus, where it remains until May 2024.
This feels like a positive shift for you and a breath of fresh air. The focus turns to what you want from life rather than relying too heavily on other people or having to think of others before yourself.
Taurus rules creativity, love affairs, entertainment, fun and children in your horoscope, all the good things in life. It’s the playful sector of your horoscope and it’s about doing more of what you love. Here’s your opportunity to turn your life around and embrace passion and desire.
Plan some fun events with friends and family once Jupiter’s in Taurus and make entertainment, laughter and socialising high priority.
Jupiter’s the planet of luck so trust your luck and have a flutter, enter a competition or buy a raffle ticket when you’re out and about. There’s a popular saying in the UK, ‘you have to be in to win’ and this can apply to life as well as the lottery, e.g. if you want to meet someone new, join a dating agency or let your friends know you’re keen for an introduction. This will serve you better than sitting at home alone waiting for the phone to ring.
Same goes if you’ve always wanted to write a book, paint a portrait or play a musical instrument. While Jupiter’s in Taurus, revisit your childhood dreams and take the first step towards turning a dream into reality.
Jupiter’s move into Taurus isn’t going to sort out all the nitty-gritty boring stuff of life but it is going to move play and pleasure higher up your life barometer and that’s got to be a good thing.
New Moon, New Beginnings
The emphasis on the star sign Taurus continues as the New Moon falls in Taurus on the 19th. A New Moon is a symbol of new beginnings and an ideal date to set your intentions or to start over in some way. There could be good news around a pregnancy or birth. Or, perhaps you sense a shift around a creative block.
There is a proviso, however, because on the 18th big planet Jupiter clashes with Pluto in Aquarius and your personal money sector. So, even though Jupiter in Taurus lights up the luck sector of your horoscope, this wouldn’t be an ideal date to take a punt or get carried away financially.
Jupiter rules good fortune whereas Pluto can represent loss or things not working out. Don’t overspend on a hobby and recognise where some expenses may need to be reduced or cut back.
Action planet Mars is involved too, as Mars enters Leo and your joint finance sector on the 20th. Immediately, Mars opposes Pluto on the 21st and clashes with Jupiter on the 23rd. This combination feels volatile and a financial issue could be the reason for a falling-out or challenging interaction.
Avoid anything corrupt or underhand and don’t be afraid to confront someone head-on if money’s gone missing or things have got out of hand. Sometimes, a situation has to break wide open so you can deal with it and stop whatever’s happening.
Get any personal issues out of the way and put new boundaries in place moving forward. Jupiter’s encouraging you to live life lightly and let go of any toxic situation that you’re ready to release.
