Your ruling planet Venus starts the month in air sign Gemini and your personal money sector. A little bit of luck may come your way on or around the 5th when Venus aligns with lucky Jupiter. On the 7th, Venus joins action planet Mars in caring and kind Cancer.
Cancer is one of the water signs, emotional and empathic. As Venus remains here until the end of the month, it’s an ideal time to create community in your life, to make new friends and favour connections. You could be getting to know your neighbours or be catching up with your siblings or relatives. Find your tribe, your support, while Venus is moving through Cancer.
Lunar Eclipse
Up until the 21st, the Sun is in your star sign Taurus which means it’s your birthday month – Happy Birthday! The Sun in Taurus adds confidence, vitality and warmth to your life. The Sun isn’t the only planetary body in Taurus, as talk planet Mercury is here throughout May and the best planet Jupiter enters Taurus on May 16th.
However, before leaping into what’s happening mid-month, it’s important to note there’s a Full Moon Lunar Eclipse on the 5th. This eclipse cuts across the Taurus/Scorpio axis of the zodiac with the Sun in Taurus and the Moon in Scorpio. This eclipse is part of the eclipse cycle that began in November 2021 and will complete in October 2023.
This eclipse is about your relationships, your one-to-one’s, your identity and who you’re becoming. These are the areas where life could be dramatic or you sense that things are changing. Eclipses often have a theme of endings and beginnings so pay close attention to what happens on or around the eclipse date.
Your relationships may be shifting so embrace change as best you can. If someone’s being unreliable, step in to help. If you want more freedom in your life, make it happen.
The Uranus Factor
During the eclipse, Uranus in Taurus is opposite the Moon in Scorpio. And, on the 9th, there’s a powerful Sun-Uranus conjunction in your star sign Taurus.
This could indicate the importance of a third party in your life. Perhaps, you encounter someone who embodies Uranus’ principles of freedom, rebellion or downright craziness. Alternatively, you may recognise where you’re not in agreement with other people and where you want or need to break free.
Something may have to break down in your life before you can break through. Consider who or what you may be up against and look out for an unexpected occurrence that comes from left field. You may want to do something wild and unpredictable. Yet, in most cases, you’re wise to wait until mid-May before taking decisive action.
Mercury Direct
This is because there’s a significant turning point on the 15th when talk planet Mercury turns direct in your star sign Taurus. If you’ve been mulling over a big decision since late April, this is an ideal time to set things in motion.
If you’ve been waiting on information or have felt unclear or undecided about your next steps, you may get a sign or news that helps you move forward.
Sometimes, the truth comes to light when Mercury switches direction. Mercury turning direct could bring the information that you need to make sense of things.
Jupiter Goals – Taking Centre Stage
Mid-May feels powerful for you. The big news is the planet of luck, opportunity and good fortune Jupiter entering your star sign Taurus on the 16th.
This is the day after Mercury turns direct and the two events may be linked. Perhaps, what you hear mid-month is the reason for celebration. Jupiter will remain in Taurus until May 2024.
Jupiter takes approximately twelve years to circuit the zodiac so this significant event doesn’t happen every year. In fact, you’ve had to wait quite some time to enjoy Jupiter’s bounty in your star sign. Think back to 2011/2012, the previous time that Jupiter was in Taurus.
Jupiter is the biggest planet in the universe and represents all that’s expansive in life. This is the planet of freedom, allowing you to let go of ties that bind you and anything or anyone who holds you back in life.
When Jupiter’s in full flow, you want to see the world and save the world. Jupiter rules travel, education, spirituality, philosophy and philanthropic activities. Choose your pick.
What’s not advised when Jupiter is strong in your chart is to play small or stay close to home. Jupiter rewards bold behaviour and loves the free spirit, the explorer, the entrepreneur, the lover of life.
New Moon, New Beginnings
Adding to the Taurus overload is a New Moon in your star sign on the 19th. A New Moon is a symbol of new beginnings and you may be making some bold decisions during this period in the month.
It does, however, look as if there may be some tough decisions to make. Or, perhaps you sense that you’re caught between a rock and a hard place. Consider what you might need to let of and notice where a door closes in your life.
This has a lot to do with the fact that Jupiter clashes with Pluto in Aquarius as soon as it enters your star sign Taurus. The exact date is the 18th. Aquarius is your career and vocation sector, your future path.
Plus, action planet Mars enters Leo and your home and family sector on the 20th and immediately runs into Pluto on the 21st and Jupiter on the 23rd.
Therefore, this period in the month is likely to be pivotal. It feels explosive, whether you encounter anger from someone else. Or, there’s a significant turning point that alters your future path. Perhaps, you decide to become a stay-at-home parent or you leave work to care for a parent. Perhaps, a new job necessitates a home move.
What’s important to notice is how the past and future are linked and decide where your priorities lie. As the Sun enters Gemini on the 21st and moves into your money sector, it might be that a financial change is the answer to a home or work conundrum.
Jupiter favours freedom and in your star sign, you may be making a decisive move to free yourself from the trappings of society or the corporate world. It may not be an easy choice but this is potentially the start of a year to take a leap of faith and fly.

interesting perspective
I am Taurean (female) and so is a person causing me a lot of difficulty within the management team of a group that I volunteer with. I have looked carefully both at the weekly and monthly predictions and they are accurate to my situation with this woman. But these predictions are also hers so how do I deal with her? I have decided to resign in July from the management team of this group but still have a major event to work at where she will also be working and all the preparation leading up to it.
Good question. With Pluto in Aquarius (Taurus’ career sector), try and minimise the time you spend with her would be my advice. And, take care of you.
