Leo Season – Solar Eclipse
As August begins, your fellow fire sign Leo is the star sign of the moment. The Sun is in Leo until the 23rd, talk planet Mercury joins the Sun in Leo from the 9th to the 25th and your ruling planet Jupiter has taken up residence in Leo where it will remain until the middle of next year..
This is encouraging you to turn your attention to the future and your next steps. You may be keen to embrace more freedom in your life as Leo rules travel and study and the bigger picture in your horoscope. It’s a good time to fire some arrows high into the sky and see where they land.
Consider signing up for a course, learn new skills, improve your knowledge or find out more about a religion, a spiritual path, a philosophy or belief system. Leo season is calling you out into the world.
Also this month, there’s a powerful Solar Eclipse in Leo on the 12th. This eclipse is part of the eclipse cycle highlighting the star signs Leo and Aquarius. This is the educational axis of your horoscope linked to foreign connections, foreign cultures, learning and debate. This eclipse cycle began in February 2026 and will continue until January 2028.
Most of the eclipses in this cycle are New Moon Solar Eclipses, a symbol of new beginnings and accelerated growth. You may be gearing up to make a bold move during this month’s Solar Eclipse. It’s not a time to stay in your comfort zone. Move out into the world or play a proactive role in world events.
Three days after the eclipse, your ruler Jupiter aligns with communication planet Mercury in Leo on the 15th. Both planets are linked to education and travel and this would be an ideal weekend to set off on holiday or sign up for a workshop or course.
Jupiter’s active again at the end of the month when Jupiter in Leo makes a powerful trine aspect with Saturn in Aries on the 31st. This links the creative and explorative sectors of your horoscope and both Jupiter and Saturn were leaders in mythology. Perhaps, you’re stepping into a new role as teacher or you’re turning a hobby or creative project into a business.
Venus Libra
Also this month, the planet of relating Venus moves into Libra and your friendship and group sector on the 6th. This is where Venus will remain until September 10.
As Venus is the planet of relating, you may be keen to make new friends, join a group, club or society or become more involved within society as a whole. This fits the truth-loving side of your nature. You often like to do your bit for society, whether political, environmental, humanitarian or any other worthwhile or good cause.
This is a two-way deal, thanks to the star sign Libra. Be there for friends and bring laughter and lightness to other peoples’ lives. In return, ask for help and advice when it’s needed. Team up with others to benefit one another and ensure the Libra scales remain balanced.
Virgo Season – Lunar Eclipse
August could turn out to be an ambitious month as it progresses. This is because the Sun enters Virgo and your career and future sector on the 23rd. Plus, talk planet Mercury joins the Sun in Virgo on the 25th.
The Sun and Mercury are working together on the 27th in a magical cazimi conjunction. This could be a stand-out date for your career, vocation or future path. This may bring news your way or personal insight or understanding.
Traditionally, the Sun/Mercury cazimi conjunction is an ideal date to line up a meeting or interview. It’s not necessarily going to be straightforward, however, thanks to the eclipse taking place on the 28th. Yet, know that the right connections can and will open doors.
This is a Full Moon Lunar Eclipse taking place in Pisces on the 28th which is part of the Virgo/Pisces eclipse cycle. This began in September 2024 and completes in February 2027. It’s an important eclipse cycle for you because it cuts across the foundations of your horoscope.
Eclipses are game-changers, they tend to coincide with drama, big events and the unexpected. Life takes a sudden twist or turn and there are other factors to consider. So hold on to your hat towards the end of the month and expect a roller coaster ride when it comes to your home and family, your career and vocation.
You may be on the move, leaving home or be transitioning to a new domestic situation. It might be a turning point for your career or future direction. During the eclipse, see if you can take advantage of things shifting and changing. Sometimes, you’re in a competitive situation where one person wins and another person loses. Play your cards right and you could end up on the winning team.
However, there is a theme of endings and beginnings during a Lunar Eclipse. You may be aware of the pull between your past and your future. Or you recognise how your decisions in the past have impacted your future path. Perhaps, there’s a theme of duty and responsibility to your family or ageing parents.
Plus, there’s an extra factor during the eclipse as wild-card Uranus is square to the Sun, Mercury and the Moon on the 28th, the day of the eclipse. Uranus is in your opposite star sign Gemini and your relationship sector.
Perhaps, you’re feeling unsettled about a relationship in your life. Or a business partnership falls apart. Either way, there are likely to be some twists and turns. Love and relationships could prove exciting but it’s not a straightforward path. Know where faith lies and be there for the ones who need you most.
Mars’ Power
Talk planet Mercury leaves water sign Cancer on the 9th where it’s been for an unusually long time since early June. Two days later, action planet Mars moves into Cancer and your joint finance sector where it remains until the end of September.
This suggests the importance of family and loved ones, security and comfort in your life. There’s a protective influence to Mars in Cancer and caring for the ones you love.
Plus, this could link back to events in the middle of 2025 when your ruling planet Jupiter first moved into Cancer in June of that year. Since then, there’s always been at least one planet in Cancer.
Mars moving here could be definitive and be the final push to deal with a financial issue that’s been dominating your life for the last fourteen months. Jupiter rules the law too. Be proactive with Mars in Cancer and make a final effort to get things sorted.

It’s a double whammy of eclipses this month. Here are some eclipse tips:
- Try not to fear an eclipse – they are a reminder that you’re not in control.
- Ideally, don’t choose an eclipse date to launch a project or start something new.
- Wait a few days after an eclipse before taking action. Eclipse symbolism is shadowy and hidden.
- Once the eclipse shadow lifts, then you can aim to take advantage of any changes that have occurred.
- Know that eclipses are closely linked to the karmic nodes and wheel of destiny – they often act as a signpost or turning point.
