It’s not the time to make big decisions or a major investment while Venus is retrograde. Instead, use this phase as a period of exploration and enquiry. This is a good time for following up past connections, perhaps linked to a publishing or media opportunity. If you’re caught up in a legal case, this could drag on while Venus dives deep into the underworld.

The Full Moon on the 1st cuts across the Leo/Aquarius axis of the zodiac and shines a light on your education, your beliefs, your travel plans. There’s excitement during this Full Moon, although be aware that not everything may work out the way you expect.

There’s a wild theme around the New Moon this month as the Sun and Moon sit between Venus retrograde and Lilith, the wild one, also in Leo. This is untamed, powerful energy. Use it to stir your imagination and give potency to your dreams, your wishes, your adventurous spirit.

At the same time, don’t get overly carried away and make a drastic decision. Venus retrograde can be a time when you’re reviewing your finances. Or, perhaps you’re trying to create the funds you need to fulfil a dream in your life.

Remember that until the inner planets turn direct, you’re wise to keep exploring and keep your options open. This isn’t the time to give up but to focus more on what you do want. Strengthen your belief, deepen your vision and go from there. A twist of fate could see you starting out on a new path.

Virgo Vibes

As August begins, there are two key planets in earth sign Virgo ruling your career and vocation, your status and reputation. Action planet Mars is here until the 27th and communication planet Mercury is in Virgo throughout August. Plus, the Sun moves into Virgo on the 23rd.

Therefore, whether you have a new work contract, you’re taking on a promotion or you’re looking for a job, this is where there’s a lot going on. It’s an excellent month to be busy and get into a new routine, especially if you’ve been away on holiday or recently unemployed.

Virgo rules writing, so this might involve a book, blog or media column. Plus, Mercury turns retrograde in Virgo on the 23rd and will remain on go slow until September 15th. Losing yourself in a creative project and immersing yourself in what you love is a great way of using the retrograde phase.

Virgo is the star sign of order and strategy, so get on top of your job, your projects, the next stage in your life. Journalling could help you find clarity. Create a strong team around you. You can’t do it all on your own, whatever your current goal. 

There’s always a proviso with planets in earth signs and it’s about keeping your feet on the ground.
