Traditionally, August is Leo season. The Sun’s here until the 23rd and, this year, Venus is retrograde in Leo throughout August. Leo rules the sector of your horoscope which is about joint finances and shared resources.
This is about all forms of money; inheritance, taxes, investment, savings and debt, etc. It’s about power and the ties and bonds that are created by money. You may be dealing with a taboo issue this month, something that’s hidden, that you want to bring to light.
Leo is a star sign linked to courage as it rules the heart. It’s associated with the light, thanks to its ruler the Sun. When the Sun is in Leo, this is an ideal time for being bold and brave and tackling something you’ve been avoiding.
Plus, this is a theme of Venus retrograde in Leo. Symbolically, Venus is diving deep into the underworld and uncovering what’s hidden. Therefore, it’s an ideal time for you to put on your detective hat and dig beneath the surface to see what can be revealed.
You might be reviewing your financial situation. Or, perhaps you’re chasing up monies that got lost in the system. You could be on a mission to find out more about a secret from your past. Or, you could have suspicions about a love relationship and you’re delving deep.
Full Moon/New Moon
The Full Moon on the 1st may bring hidden matters to light when you see things with clarity. This Full Moon cuts across the Leo/Aquarius axis of the zodiac and the financial sectors of your horoscope.
Usually, Full Moons are powerful for trusting your intuition but don’t let your heart lead you, without also engaging your head, your brain, your rational mind. This is important when it’s a retrograde month. Ideally, put off the big decisions until mid-September. For now, take a step back and proceed cautiously.
Plus, this isn’t the best time to be impulsive, especially around money. You might want to cut back on expenses or spend less on socialising, your children or a lover. At the very least, it’s a good time to be clear about what’s coming in and going out of your back account.
The key dates are the 7th, 9th & 16th. The 16th is the day of bewitching New Moon in Leo, when the Sun and Moon sit between Venus retrograde and Lilith, the wild one, also in Leo. This is potent planetary energy, whether you’re being bewitched by someone you meet, emotionally or financially. Or, perhaps this is your own wild nature being called forth. This could tap you into something elemental, a powerful creative force.
Consider how money and freedom are linked in your life. Perhaps, you want to pay someone off so you can cut ties. Or, you realise that someone close needs to be responsible for their own affairs, without you helping them out. Money and emotions are closely linked, so be aware of this and notice when guilt or other emotions kick in.
Virgo Season
Also this month, you could benefit from a change of scene. If you’re planning a holiday or a trip way, you’re in tune with your stars. This is because talk planet Mercury is in your fellow earth sign Virgo throughout August highlighting your travel and study sector. Plus, action planet Mars is here until the 27th and the Sun enters Virgo on the 23rd.
Expand your horizons this month and take yourself out of your usual surroundings. If you want to book a holiday or sign up for a course, ideally do so before Mercury turns retrograde in Virgo on the 23rd.
This doesn’t mean don’t travel, as Mercury retrograde in your travel sector can be great for going on holiday or being on retreat. Yet, it’s important to double check passports, visas, paperwork, etc. beforehand. Also, note that sometimes your plans change and you end up on a diversion.
Virgo is linked to publishing, the media and the law in your horoscope. You might be reconnecting with old contacts. Or, perhaps you’re playing a waiting game. When planets are retrograde, do your research and be ready for when Mercury turns direct mid-September.
Also this month, the Full Moon on the 31st cuts across the Virgo/Pisces axis of the zodiac and highlights new experiences in your life. This is a Blue Moon, which means it’s the second of two Full Moons taking place this month. There’s a magical feel to a Blue Moon, but notice whether it leaves you feeling blue.
If you feel disillusioned or weary of your path, it could be that changing your surroundings is the nudge you need, so you create some time and space to think what next. Don’t let fear hold you back and don’t be discouraged by the news or let other people drag you down. This is your life, so get in step with what’s important to you.
Earth sign energy is strong this month encouraging you to have a good time. Sometimes, if you’re a typical Sun Capricorn, you do what’s sensible and rein in your indulgent side. Be discerning about what’s right for you and don’t go mad financially. Yet, don’t procrastinate or keep putting off what you know you need.
As Uranus switches direction on the 29th in your fellow earth sign Taurus, this is a time when you could throw caution to the winds and say yes to excitement. Or, a first date or becoming a parent. Dig deep into your desires while Venus continues her exploration of a deeply personal sector of your horoscope.
