Capricorn (22 December-19 January)
If you’ve survived the Easter weekend as you’re reading this, well done! Yet again the Uranus-Pluto square surfaced and for you it cuts across sensitive parts of your horoscope.
Pluto, the transformation planet, is currently in Capricorn as you will know if you have a December birthday. Pluto’s about purging and looking into the depths before reinventing yourself as someone new. Uranus, planet of revolution, is down at the base of your chart with the spotlight on home, family, your domestic situation, your past and where you come from.
This ongoing square aspect is a case of out with the old and in with the new and in some shape or other, you are being encouraged to put the past behind you and embrace a brand new future. You may be moving, catching up with family, creating your own unique family or simply realising that you and someone close feel less like blood brothers and more like creatures from a different planet. The wake-up call of Uranus can be sudden but also enlightening and it doesn’t make for an easy or secure home or family life. So roll with whatever’s happening, keep your gaze fixed firmly on your future goals and carry on regardless.
There are currently three of the personal planets in your home and family sector including the Sun (personality), Venus (relating) and Mars (action) so this is where the energy’s at. You may be busy at home with DIY or spring cleaning or involved in organising a family celebration. Aries is a speedy planet so potentially you can make things happen and fast.
There’s a New Moon in Aries on the 10th, a great day to set new intentions or to launch a home-related project and on the 7th, Venus and Mars come together down at the base of your chart. In mythology, these two were lovers and they link love and desire. If you’re married or in a relationship, it’s a great day to hunker down and cosy up with the one you love. Let the warm hues of Venus and the fiery passion of Mars rekindle your desire and set your love life alight. If there’s a family get-together on this date, things bode well for getting on and being in accord.
Mid-month it’s all change starting with Pluto turning retrograde in your sign of Capricorn on the 12th. This is especially powerful if your birthday’s on or around 1st January. Pluto’s energy is intense but once the planet’s turned, you may find it’s more about reviewing your life in general than deep change. A retrograde planet tends to turn the energy inward so it’s more to do with soul-searching than actual external events.
Mercury, the communication planet, enters Aries on the 14th and on the weekend of the 20th/21st also teams up with the Uranus/Pluto square reigniting any issues that arose over the Easter weekend. At least there’s a chance to talk things through and hammer out an agreement. Mercury in Aries feels passionate so talk about the issues that matter deeply to you and don’t sweep things under the carpet. It’s your chance to change the status quo and do things differently.
One-by-one three of the personal planets enter your fellow earth sign of Taurus mid-month including Venus on the 15th, the Sun on the 19th and Mars on the 20th. This slows down the pace and makes life less hectic or frantic. It’s about savouring daily experiences and doing the things you love. Taurus rules your 5th house which represents creativity, children, romance and entertainment. It’s the feel-good sector of your chart and a chance to be more sensual and enjoy life’s simple pleasures.
If you’re looking for love, here’s your opportunity and the 19th, 24th, and 27th look wonderfully dreamy and romantic. With Neptune in Pisces and your communication sector, speak words of love, find your muse and indulge your romantic senses. Neptune’s realm is boundless and you can happily lose yourself in the world of love and romance. Be indulgent and escape reality, in a good way.
However, your planet Saturn may not agree with this free-and-easy living and whether it’s your own self-doubt or a friend’s concern, the w/b 22nd April looks challenging. Saturn puts obstacles in your path and reminds you of life’s limitations. Whereas Neptune wants to swanny around and be mystical and magical, Saturn’s common sense tends to kick in and your rational mind can easily discount what’s special. Saturn is your ruling planet so do be aware of this tendency and ask yourself whether you are being harsh or negative and not allowing yourself to enjoy love or life to the full.
In certain areas of life, boundaries are necessary, especially if you’re parenting children but in other areas, question what you’re doing and why. Adopt a ‘half glass full’ attitude when and where possible.
There’s a lunar eclipse cutting across the Taurus/Scorpio axis on the 25th and this feels dramatic and a turn-around moment. If you are involved in an affair or behaving inappropriately with a friend’s partner, you may need to call time on what’s happening. If it’s someone else’s disapproval that you encounter, it may be the perfect time to defend yourself and stand up for what you know is right. It depends on your personal situation and it’s your shout but expect a fair amount of drama in your life as the month comes to an end.
