There’s strong emphasis on the star sign Libra this month, ruling your career and vocation sector. The Sun remains here until the 23rd, talk planet Mercury’s in Libra from the 5th to the 22nd and action planet Mars is here up until the 12th. This means there’s a lot of action, heat and negotiations taking place, encouraging you to focus your gaze on your future path.
Solar Eclipse
There’s another reason why this is a month to keep your eye on your future goals. The 14th could prove momentous because this is when there’s a New Moon Solar Eclipse in Libra at the peak of your horoscope.
This is the second eclipse in a new eclipse cycle cutting across the Aries/Libra axis of the zodiac and the foundations of your horoscope. This eclipse cycle will complete in March 2025. It focuses on your work and career, your home and family. Also, the link between your past and your future.
This is the second eclipse in the cycle and the first took place on April 20th. Therefore, the two dates could be linked. Where are things shifting for you? A Solar Eclipse indicates accelerated growth. As these eclipses are cutting across the foundations of your life, it’s often a time when you change job or location.
Power planet Pluto is involved in the eclipse and this is significant for you as Pluto is in your star sign Capricorn. This means that there’s a theme of endings as well as new beginnings. You might be able to take advantage of a changing situation at work. Alternatively, a job or one path in your life could come to an end.
Pluto is super-active this month as it turns direct in your star sign Capricorn on the 11th, three days before the eclipse. Pluto represents power and intensity. And, at its best, it gives you laser focus and lends you super power.
The downside of Pluto is obsession to the point of wipe-out. This flags up a cautionary note that the Libra scales are urging you to find a healthy work/life balance in October.
Take care of your body, mind and spirit and adopt a holistic approach to your well-being. The key date to say no is the 21st when Pluto is square to both the Sun and talk planet Mercury in Libra.
Scorpio Season
Friendship and group ventures are a key theme in October. This is a significant part of Scorpio season and Scorpio season begins early this year. Therefore, ensure you have people in your life who support you and are there to back you. Here’s what’s happening:
Planets in Scorpio:
- Mars (action/drive) – from October 12th
- Mercury (communication) – from October 22nd
- Sun (identity) – from October 23rd
Groups and clubs are under the cosmic spotlight in your horoscope when planets are in Scorpio. This is about your friends, your tribe and the people you connect with on a deep level. It’s an ideal time to consider how your networks and connections can benefit you, both personally and professionally. Don’t go it alone but team up with other people.
Scorpio energy peaks towards the end of October. On the 29th, Mercury and Mars come together in Scorpio adding boldness and wit to the mix. This is great news for playing an active role within a group. Or, being around people who fire you up.
Both planets are opposed by lucky Jupiter in your fellow earth sign Taurus on the 28th & 29th so look out for a social event that takes off like a rocket. This whole combination feels dramatic, adventurous and full of opportunity.
Eclipse Season
To add more drama to the mix, there’s a Full Moon Lunar Eclipse on the 28th. This is the last eclipse in an eclipse cycle which began two years ago in November 2021 and cuts across the Taurus/Scorpio axis of the zodiac.
This is the social sector of your horoscope, linked to friends and group activities, society and politics, also children, pregnancy and lovers. These are the key areas where change may happen and fast.
The Lunar Eclipse could coincide with a social event or big occasion. Perhaps, it’s an expensive event or there’s plenty to celebrate. Eclipses have a theme of bringing what’s hidden to light, so a secret may emerge that impacts your life. Consider what’s been playing out over the last two years and what might be coming to a close before the end of 2023.
Rest of the Month’s Astrology
It’s eclipse season but there’s another significant feature to this month’s astrology. As October begins, the two inner planets Venus and Mercury both leave the star signs where they were retrograde in recent months.
Mercury’s first on the 5th, leaving earth sign Virgo and your travel and study sector. You might be able to sort out any mishaps or misunderstandings that occurred in these areas of your life. Perhaps, you get paid for a travel delay or you find the funds to attend a much-desired course of study.
This is linked to the planet of love and money Venus leaving Leo and your joint finance sector on the 9th. Wrap up any financial issues and get things signed and sealed as October gets underway.
Eclipse Do’s & Don’ts
It’s a double whammy of eclipses this month. The Aries/Libra eclipse cycle continues while the Taurus/Scorpio eclipse cycle comes to an end. Here are some eclipse tips:
- Try not to fear an eclipse – they are a reminder that you’re not in control.
- Ideally, don’t choose an eclipse date to launch a project or start something new.
- Wait a few days after an eclipse before taking action. Eclipse symbolism is shadowy and hidden.
- Once the eclipse shadow lifts, then you can aim to take advantage of any changes that have occurred.
- Know that eclipses are closely linked to the karmic nodes and wheel of destiny – they often act as a signpost or turning point.
