Talk planet Mercury is in Capricorn from the 1st to the 20th. Plus, action planet Mars is here until the 23rd and Mars is a go-getting ambitious planet and strong in your star sign.
Mars in Capricorn is the empire builder and you may be more than ready to pick up the pace and get things moving this year. You want progress in your life and fast with Mars in your star sign. Plan your strategy, line up some long-term goals and be pro-active.
This could be a competitive or confrontative period in your life as Mars is a passionate influence. Channel your anger constructively and use your passion to put forward your own viewpoint or opinions.
Teamwork is essential too, because the other planet in Capricorn is the planet of relating Venus. Venus remains here until the 17th and teams up with the Sun and Mars between the 6th to the 9th in a glorious triple conjunction.
This could be a gorgeous time for love and romance, partnership or business connections. Get the right people on your side and make successful alliances. Find the person with a big vision who can inspire you.
Plus, this month’s Full Moon and the New Moon both light up your personal sector. During the Full Moon on the 3rd, the Sun is in Capricorn and the Moon is in your opposite star sign Cancer. This is about partnership and you could be making a commitment to a relationship, whether personal or professional.
Big planet Jupiter remains in Cancer and your relationship sector until the middle of the year so make the most of your partnerships now and moving forward.
The New Moon in Capricorn on the 18th feels dynamic as the Sun and Moon sit next to action planet Mars and talk planet Mercury in your star sign. This is an excellent symbol for walking your talk and doing what you say.
When planets are in Capricorn, this is about your personal goals and aims, your image and profile. The spotlight’s on you for most of January so make the most of it. What you have to say may not please everyone but it’s a good month to be bold and step into your power.
Money & Finance
As the inner planets are side-by-side this month, it means they leave Capricorn and move into air sign Aquarius around the same time. Aquarius is your personal money sector ruling your assets and possessions, your values and self-worth.
The planet of love and money Venus is first on the 17th followed by talk planet Mercury and the Sun on the 20th. Action planet Mars completes the pack and moves into Aquarius on the 23rd.
Perhaps, you’re keen to get your finances in order. If so, set new systems in place and use modern technology to help boost your progress. The more that gets put in place at the start of this year, the better.
However, there is another planet in Aquarius which is Pluto, the planet of loss and transformation. As soon as the inner planets move into Aquarius, they run into Pluto on the following dates: Venus – 20th, Mercury – 22nd, Sun – 23rd and Mars – 27th.
This could indicate that you need to wipe the slate clean or close a financial deal. Pluto is the planet of power and, when it’s involved with the personal planets, it can be about issuing an ultimatum or making a decision that’s final.
Try and think of the theme of closing one door in order to open a new door in your life. For example, it might be plugging a financial black hole or stopping an ongoing payment. Alternatively, starting a new money-making venture in an area that’s not entirely of your choosing.
Avoid anything corrupt or underhand, however, as Pluto is the planet of the underworld. And ensure that you don’t run into any issues with the tax man or a similar scenario.
Saturn-Uranus
There’s another strong planetary influence this month as one of the major planetary aspects of 2025 completes on the 20th. This is significant for you because it involves your ruling planet Saturn, the planet of authority and responsibility, teaming up the planet of change and innovation Uranus.
These two planets have met twice already on April 4 & August 12, 2025. Therefore, events this month may be linked to what was happening back then. Consider what might be coming to completion or resolution.
Saturn’s in Pisces and your communication and community sector while Uranus is in Taurus, the star sign which rules romance, children and pregnancy, creative projects, entertainment and luck in your horoscope. Perhaps, you’re playing a key role within your community and helping other people. This might be in a social context or helping them with specific requests, via a citizens advice bureau or similar.
As Pisces rules siblings and relatives in your horoscope, there could be significant news about events taking place for the people you love or who are closest to you. Consider the key themes of Pisces and Taurus in your life and what this might mean for you.
Neptune Enters Aries
On the 26th, the planet of dreams and the imagination Neptune moves into fire sign Aries where it will remain until 2038/2039. This is a significant shift for Neptune and Aries is the star sign at the base of your horoscope ruling your home and family, your past and where you come from.
Neptune’s already dipped its toe into this sector of your chart as it was in Aries from March 30 to October 22, 2025. Consider what seeds were being sown back then and what was emerging. Neptune’s a compassionate and inclusive influence. Perhaps, you’re opening your doors to other people or working in a refuge. Alternatively, Neptune represents beauty and you may be on a mission to make your immediate surroundings more beautiful for yourself or your community.
It’s an ideal time to lean into your dreams around home and family as next month’s stars could manifest or bring into reality what you desire as your planet Saturn moves into Aries on February 14.
