Venus Turns Direct: Love And Money

Venus turns direct

Venus turns direct [24 Pisces 38]

April 13 2025 (02:03 GMT+1)

The planet Venus turns direct on April 13th after six weeks retrograde. This is good news for a number of reasons. As Venus represents love, money, art and beauty these are the key areas to investigate a little more deeply.

Venus turned retrograde on March 2nd in fire sign Aries. Venus shone bright in the evening sky moving into her retrograde phase. She then dived deep into the underworld for forty days and forty nights.

Venus returned to water sign Pisces on March 27th where she turns direct on April 13th and re-emerges as a morning star, a symbol of rebirth and renewal.

Venus Turns Direct

If the last few weeks have been testing for you when it comes to love, money or issues around self-worth, you can expect a turnaround this week, a shift in energy, a change of events. When a planet’s retrograde, its energy is weakened and your attention turns inwards.

You may have been reviewing your love life or your emotions have been confused. Perhaps, someone in your life has been absent or quiet or difficult to be around. Or, you may have found that you’ve changed your views on love, relationships and where your values life.

Whatever you’ve been working on regarding relationships, pleasure and creativity, this is your opportunity to follow your heart, give love, receive love and celebrate love. It could be a turn-around weekend for love or passion and this is a good time to make a decision under the light of the Full Moon.

Perhaps, this has been a creative Venus retrograde phase for you. Alternatively, you may have found your creativity blocked and Venus switching direction brings a resurgence of creativity and heart-led activities.

Perhaps, the focus has been on self-love and learning to love yourself on a deep level. When you reconnect with your true values and you start to lead your life based on what you love, this can bring a deeper level of satisfaction, meaning and purpose.

Double Whammy Retrograde

This has been a powerful retrograde phase as it was a ‘double whammy’ retrograde. The planet of communication Mercury was retrograde from March 15th to April 7th and turned retrograde and direct at the same place in the zodiac as Venus. Therefore, it’s been a doubly confusing and topsy turvy time, especially wherever Pisces/Aries falls in your horoscope.

Both planets, Mercury and Venus, are linked to money and the stock markets have been going crazy. Not that there haven’t been winners during the stock market falls and rises. The people in charge know what they’re doing and always end up benefiting. while the rest of the population are pawns in the chess game of life.

Look at what’s happening in the news when Venus turns direct and what decisions are being made moving into next week as this could prove pivotal.

Other Factors

Venus isn’t alone as she switches direction and there are two other planets accompanying her, Saturn and Uranus. The two planets made a major sextile aspect on April 4th which is in play throughout the year.

Saturn is the last of the traditional planets and Uranus the first of the modern planets. On the day that Mars triggered this aspect, April 5th, there were protests throughout the USA. The ‘Hands Off’ demonstrations were a public display of resistance against the second presidency of Trump in opposition to the ‘Liberation Day‘ tariffs on April 2nd.

Venus took up the baton on April 7th/8th and she’s still working alongside Saturn and Uranus, in union with them. She connects with Uranus on April 20th & Saturn on April 25th.

This is important because of some big astrology coming on April 27th. You could sign up to my Inner Star Circle if you want to be in the know and find out how best to deal with what’s on the horizon.

On a personal level, Venus in cahoots with Saturn and Uranus is likely to impact relationships as well. Venus/Saturn themes favour commitment, even ultimatums. This can test relationships to see which will last and which won’t.

Uranus wants to bring something new to the mix so bear this in mind. What can reawaken love or can help you see a relationship from a new angle, a fresh perspective?

Venus Rules Women

Venus is the planet that rules women and the Venus retrograde phases are often a time when women and what we’re dealing with in the world are foreground. International Women’s Day with its theme of ‘Accelerating Action’ fell on March 8th when Venus was retrograde in Aries.

There were some fierce demonstrations, notably with Le Femen in France and in Mexico as the president Claudia Sheinbaum honoured indigenous women.

Venus was retrograde in Aries until March 27th. This is an independent placing for Venus and a symbol of ‘girl power’. In mythology, Venus had many guises, one of which was warrior woman. If you want to read more about this, you can find out more here: Venus Aries: Girl Power

During this time, a UK TV programme Adolescence made ratings history as it was the most-watched programme in the first week of its release. It tackled the pressures faced by the younger generation and how girls and women are the victims of toxic masculinity and online misogyny.

While Venus was retrograde in Aries, there seemed to be more coverage of stories around AI fake pornograpy, stalkers, extortion and violence against women.

And, in perfect timing with Venus turning direct in Pisces on April 13th, the first all-female celebrity crew of the Blue Origin space flight is due to launch on April 14th.

Apparently, it’s going to be a full glam turn out, fitting for Venus in Pisces. Even though this is powerful on the one hand, how empowering it is for women is questionable.

The cost per seat is likely to be hundreds of thousands of dollars and only one of the women is an actual astronaut. Jeff Bezos’ girlfriend is on board and Katy Perry completes the sextet. At least, Amanda Nguyen, a civil rights activist, will be conducting some science experiments whilst in space.

On a personal note, leading up to Venus turning direct, I attended a talk on ‘Witchcraft And Feminism‘ by the academic Laura Kounine. It was fascinating and, in true retrograde style, there was some serious myth-busting taking place.

How Was It For You?

What have your experiences been of this Venus retrograde phase? Did you give up sugar for Lent as the two events coincided nicely?

Have you come out of the Venus retrograde phase feeling empowered and ready to take on the world? Or has it left you feeling more disillusioned and confused about what next?

Venus will complete her journey through Pisces on April 30th when she powers back into Aries. Venus only emerges from her shadow phase on May 15th when she’s at 10° Aries. The journey is still continuing so consider how you want to use Venus in direct motion over the next month, the planet ruling love, money, art, beauty and women.

  1. Hi Sally-

I am curious what was your main take away was from Laura Kounine’s talk. I hope you do share a bit more about the experience. Maybe in a future podcast? Love all your work. I appreciate all your thoughts and insights that you share us. Many thank!

    1. Thank you for your email, Cheryle. Appreciated. The talk was fascinating. I’m not sure where I’d share it all and I need to be clear what I say as it might offend some people. I do hope to be doing more writing in future so will definitely write more about it. And we may talk about it on the podcast although it always depends where the conversation takes us 🙂
