We know the symbolism of eclipses. A shadow is thrown across the Sun (solar) or Moon (lunar). As the shadow moves away, it reveals what’s been hidden.
Eclipses often coincide with shadowy events and the recent Lunar Eclipse on July 16th has revealed the dark side of our society. I’m sure I’m not the only who experienced chills and fear at witnessing a crowd of Trump supporters chant ‘send her back‘ at the recent Trump campaign rally.
Anyone who denies that this was racist & fascist and a symbol of the worrying rise of white supremacy is deluded. Watching the clip, it was evident that the President of the USA was not condemning this behaviour.
Even worse, it was his statement attacking the American politician, Ilhan Omar, that incited the crowd. Since then, he’s said he felt ‘ a little badly’ about the chants. Once again, he is evading his responsibility to stop and condemn racist behaviour.
What Astrology Reveals – Venus opposite Saturn
Astrology can be an incredibly helpful tool as it plumbs hidden depths and uses the language of symbolism to help you make sense of the world. If you read my eclipse article last week, you will know that there was a key opposition happening at the same time as the eclipse.
The opposition involved Saturn in Capricorn, the ruling planet of the Capricorn eclipse, opposing Venus in Cancer. Both planets are currently closely tied to the karmic nodes, the path of destiny.
Venus rules women and Saturn rules authority. Trump’s speech clearly showed this divide. And, it may come as no surprise to learn that Trump was born on a Venus/Saturn conjunction at 23-25 degrees Cancer.
Therefore, this week’s eclipse highlighted this aspect of his birth chart. You could say the astrology brought it forth into the public eye. Admittedly, a planetary symbol doesn’t only mean one thing. Yet, one way this symbolism can play out is that Saturn oppresses or stops Venus. It’s a limiting and controlling influence.
Pluto’s Eclipse Role
More worrying, however, is the inclusion of Pluto in this planetary pattern. Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn have been working together and Pluto was conjunct the Moon in Capricorn during the eclipse. Venus is now moving away from Saturn and will oppose Pluto on July 21st, this weekend.
Pluto is God of the Underworld and a common significator of the shadow side. Its colour is black and there are shades of corruption and taboo themes inherent within its symbolism, including racism.
The events during Trump’s campaign rally were a direct threat towards Ilhan Omar. You can see this threat in her astrology. Omar was born on the last Saturn-Pluto conjunction, with Saturn at 23 Libra and Pluto at 26 Libra.
Therefore, the recent eclipse triggered this point in her astrology chart, creating a T-square to it. In fact, both Saturn and Pluto will continue to square her natal Saturn/Pluto conjunction for a few years yet and the current eclipses are acting as the trigger points. It’s challenging and difficult astrology which requires real bravery to stand up against the forces that threaten.
The Squad and their right to lead
Ilhan Omar is part of the Squad, four congresswomen of colour, Ilhan Oman, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ayanna Pressley & Rashida Tlaib who have an absolute right to lead their country and uphold their values. We can’t allow the voice of oppression and racism to take hold, again.
It must be stopped and we must stand up against it. Don’t stay quiet, speak out, be bold, be brave. The shadow side of the eclipse, of our society, has been revealed in all its ugliness – now, what will we do about it?
Birth Data:
Ilhan Omar, b. October 4, 1982, time unknown, Mogadishu, Somalia
Trump, b. June 14, 1946, 10:54 am, Jamaica, Queens, NY, USA
I also think its no coincidence that Iilhan has been leading the environmental debate and this is anathema to Trump. I heard in the BBC documentary about the Extinction Rebellion, from one of the campaigners, that we are in for a bumpy ride and sense that the next years will pose monumental conflicts between the light and dark side of humanity concerning the fight for a sustainable future and the forces which will threaten that . We need as many people as possible to wake up and protest against this racist attack and incitement of xenophobia. Well said Sally.
Thank you, Lesley 🙂
I would love to read what the universe has planned for our 2020 election. I know what my guides tell me…I like confirmation…lol
I think you’re wonderful Sally and I share every one if your posts,
Thank you, Bill 🙂 What time is best used for the 2020 election? – we usually go for the end of polls. Let me know what time you would choose – are we looking at November 3, 2020? And I would guess Washington DC for location?
