Top Tips Astrology August 2026

August 2026 Astrology

Your horoscopes for August are here.

The Big Pattern that dominated the astrology in July was a mix of planets in fire and air. Expansive Jupiter took up residence in fire sign Leo at the end of June and one of the huge stories in July has been the crazy amount of wildfires out of control in different areas of the world. Air fans the flames of fire and the noise around climate change is growing louder.

Here’s what’s coming up this month:

Solar Eclipse [20 Leo 01]

August 12

This is eclipse season, a time of change. The New Moon on August 12 is a Solar Eclipse in Leo. This follows on from a Solar Eclipse in Aquarius on February 17.

These are the first two eclipses in the Leo/Aquarius eclipse cycle which continues until January 2028. What’s remarkable about this eclipse cycle is that nearly all the eclipses are Solar Eclipses, i.e. they fall during the New Moon.

A Solar Eclipse is the equivalent of a turbo-powered New Moon when change happens fast and you step into a new chapter or portal. Yet, sometimes a new beginning only takes place after an ending.

A Solar Eclipse adds power to mix and may help you move things forward.

Here are some eclipse tips:

  • Try not to fear an eclipse – they are a reminder that fate is part of your destiny.

  • Ideally, don’t choose an eclipse date to launch a project or start something new.

  • Wait a few days after an eclipse before taking action. Eclipse symbolism is shadowy and hidden.

  • Once the eclipse shadow lifts, then you can take advantage of any changes that have occurred.

  • Know that eclipses are closely linked to the karmic nodes – they often act as a signpost or turning point.

Lunar Eclipse [04 Pisces 54]

August 28

This month’s Full Moon is a Lunar Eclipse in Pisces on August 28. This eclipse is part of the eclipse cycle which began in September 2024 and completes in February 2027.

This eclipse cycle spells big news for the star signs Pisces and Virgo, because this is where the eclipses fall. Wherever these two star signs are in your horoscope, this is where you can expect drama and heightened emotions.

Eclipses are often thought of as game-changers, as a shadow falls before revealing what’s hidden. Once the light returns, a new landscape appears signposting a new path ahead.

This is potentially an exciting eclipse because both the Sun and Moon are square to Uranus in Gemini. Uranus is the planet of spontaneity. Think flashes of inspiration, revelatory insights and genius moves.

Yet, both eclipses and Uranus often coincide with external events as life steps in to bring the unexpected. Wait for the eclipse energy to settle before moving forward.

Sometimes, eclipses act as a catalyst for change but you don’t recognise this until later on. Their effect can last a few months after the exact date of the eclipse, even up until the next set of eclipses, which will occur in February 2027.

In ancient times, an eclipse was an omen, a sign that there would be a rise or fall of leadership. On a personal note, it’s important to remember that there are winners and losers during eclipse season.

Sun enters Virgo

August 23

After the blazing brightness of Leo season, Virgo season begins on August 23 when the Sun enters earth sign Virgo. The Sun is joined by talk planet Mercury in Virgo on August 25.

When planets are in Virgo, it’s an ideal time to get organised and be prepared. There’s a ‘back-to-school’ or ‘back-to-work’ vibe once the Sun is in Virgo and it’s good to have a plan.

Virgo is the star sign of discernment, discrimination, details and precision. This is the time to reap what you sow and create a sense of order in your life.

During the last week of August, there may be a choice between pursuing work and organisation or play-time and fun in the sun. Be discerning in your choices and ideally make room for both.

Jupiter Leo Trine Saturn Aries

August 31

In astrology, Jupiter is known as the greater benefic and is the planet of expansion. Jupiter is linked to joy – the term jovial derives from Jove, another name for Jupiter – and brings good fortune, opportunity and growth.

Jupiter and Saturn were both leaders of the Gods within mythology. Saturn represented the old order and Jupiter represented the new order. They both rule in different ways and can learn from one another.

In astrology, Saturn is known as the greater malefic and is the planet of limitation. If Jupiter is Yes, then Saturn is No. From Saturn comes the word saturnine, meaning a gloomy disposition. Saturn is the planet of realism, boundaries and hard work.

Yet, on August 31, the two planets are working well together in motivated fire signs, Jupiter in Leo and Saturn in Aries.

Jupiter can learn from Saturn’s discipline and ‘get real’ mentality and Saturn can learn from Jupiter’s desire to take risks and think big. When they are working together on August 31, be the optimistic realist, the practical visionary.

Maybe this combination will help to bring about new laws that start to control the devastating effects of climate change.
