Solar Eclipse Aries: Endings & Beginnings

Solar eclipse

SOLAR ECLIPSE [9 Aries 00]

March 29, 2025 (10:58 GMT)

Partial Solar Eclipse

Eclipse season continues this week with a powerhouse Solar Eclipse in Aries, the first star sign, on March 29th. This eclipse is part of the Aries/Libra eclipse cycle which began in April 2023. This eclipse is the last in the cycle.

Straightaway, this is interesting. A Solar Eclipse is a turbo-powered New Moon, a symbol of new beginnings. Yet, this eclipse is bringing something to a close. What began two years ago that’s wrapping up or coming to an end around now? It may be a relationship, a contract or a chapter in your life.

A New Moon Solar Eclipse acts like a New Moon igniting you into action as you move into a new stage or phase in life. Yet, at any eclipse, one door may have to close before a new door can be opened.

A partial Solar Eclipse means that the disc of the Sun isn’t completely in shadow. Instead, it looks as if it a bite’s been taken out of it. It will be visible here in the UK but remember to take care and don’t look directly at the gaze of the sun.

Eclipse Data

This eclipse will be most powerful for you if you’re an Aries or Libra or you have key planets/angles at 9° Aries. During the last Aries/Libra eclipse cycle, there was a total solar eclipse at the same degree on March 29, 2006. It may be that events back then are reflecting what’s happening now.

Yet, wherever you find the star sign Aries in your horoscope, this is where you have a powerful beam of energy. Sometimes, Solar Eclipses coincide with accelerated growth when the wheel of fortune kicks in moving you in a new direction.

Traditionally, you’re wise to wait a few days after an eclipse before taking action. During this Solar Eclipse, it may be that you’re wise to wait even longer. This is because communication planet Mercury is retrograde until April 7th and the planet of relating Venus is retrograde until April 13th.

Therefore, mid-April is likely to be significant regarding what’s happening right now. This is because, on April 13th, there’s a Full Moon with the Sun in Aries and the Moon in Libra, a symbol of culmination. Whatever’s foreground in your life during this week’s Solar Eclipse may be resolved or completed in two weeks time.

Alternatively, it could take a couple of weeks for events to play out. Or perhaps, to make sense of things. Note that both Venus and Mercury turned retrograde close to the eclipse degree, Venus at 10° Aries on March 2nd and Mercury at 9° Aries on March 15th.

It’s been a double whammy retrograde, a classic time of misunderstandings and uncertainty. It may be wise to lean into not knowing or being uncertain for a while longer. Trust in the timing of the astrology.

Solar Eclipses – Power Points

Eclipses can swing both ways – they can coincide with miracles and synchronicities, also crisis and the unexpected. There’s real potential, however, for this Solar Eclipse to bring something new and remarkable into your life.

Here are the dates and degrees of the Aries/Libra eclipse cycle:

  • Solar Eclipse [29 Aries 50] – April 20 2023
  • Solar Eclipse [21 Libra 08] – October 14 2023
  • Lunar Eclipse [5 Libra 07] – March 25 2024
  • Solar Eclipse [19 Aries 24] – April 8 2024
  • Solar Eclipse [10 Libra 04] – October 2 2024
  • Solar Eclipse [9 Aries 00] – March 29 2025

What’s noticeable is that nearly all the eclipses in this cycle have been Solar or New Moon eclipses. Therefore, the theme of independence or finding yourself may ring true. Following your own path, whether in a relationship or not, could have been a major theme. Also, fighting for your rights or the underdog.

Notice who comes into your life on or around this eclipse. Life isn’t meant to be lived entirely alone and it’s the people you meet and the connections you build that often determine the course of your life. Alternatively, use this eclipse energy to close a door on a relationship that’s no longer serving you.

If you have planets or angles that are close to the eclipse degree, 9° Aries, more likely than not change is on the way. Or at least, an opportunity to reorient your compass as you move forward.
