Neptune Enters Aries: A New World

Neptune enters Aries – March 30 2025

A New World

We are living in unprecedented times and this is shown in the current astrology. The three modern planets, Pluto, Neptune & Uranus spend a long time in one star sign, Pluto approximately 20 years, Neptune approximately 14 years and Uranus approximately 7 years. Therefore, it’s a big deal that all three planets are changing star sign within the space of a couple of years.

Pluto moved into air sign Aquarius in 2023/2024 and over the next couple of years, 2025/2026, both Neptune & Uranus change star sign, Neptune into Aries and Uranus into Gemini. This week is Neptune’s turn as it enters Aries on March 30th.

Air Sign Era

Note that both Pluto and Uranus are moving into air signs, Aquarius & Gemini. Plus, the last Jupiter-Saturn conjunction which took place in December 2020 fell at 0° Aquarius. The Jupiter/Saturn conjunction takes place once every twenty years and acts as a zeitgeist for the next two decades.

The element air rules ideas, the sharing of information, networks, social connections, communication and technology. The new ‘air’ era promises changes to the collective at a political, social, humanitarian and environmental level.

It’s likely to be an exciting time for science, space travel, new age thinkers, social activists, pioneering leaders, inventors, visionaries, rebels and innovators. Also, astrology and spirituality, community and the collective.

There’s going to be a significant shift towards new initiatives and ideas and the way people seek meaning in their lives. Yet, moving into the new era, we mustn’t forget what connects us as human beings, rather than turn to what divides or disconnects us. More people will be turning to the universe to find answers.

Neptune – God of the Sea

In this article, I’ll take a look at what Neptune’s shift into Aries will be about. I’ll start by exploring the archetype of Neptune and its recent transit through Pisces.

Neptune was God of the sea in mythology and Neptune’s realm is the world of illusion and fantasy. The planet was discovered in 1846 during an era of major developments in photography and film, pharmaceuticals and anaesthetics, spiritualism and social reform.

Neptune was allocated rulership of the star sign Pisces, the last star sign in the zodiac. It’s the planet of dreams and the imagination, romance and escapism, linked to Hollywood glamour, the movies and the fantasy realm. Neptune’s the poet, the actor, the musician, the artist. It rules gas, oil and liquids and is linked to idealism.

Neptune is a mystical, magical and cosmic influence and pushes back the boundaries of possibility.  When you connect fully with Neptune, you may want to sail away on the ocean, reconnect with your faith or find a place where you can embrace your spiritual nature. Neptune asks you to forgive yourself, make a sacrifice and care for all humanity. It’s a cosmic reminder that we’re all one.

When you tap into the full extent of Neptune’s realm, you can shoot stardust into the cosmos and explore the outermost regions of our vast universe. Engaging with Neptune takes you above and beyond the everyday and the world of reality. It’s where you find beauty in the world.

At its best, Neptune can take you on a magical mystery tour, when you fall head-over-heels in love, seek devotion, find your muse, tap into your creative and spiritual source or devote your life to service, whether via other people, animals or God. Consider what takes you out of yourself in a good way and when you feel at your most selfless.

There is a proviso, however, as Neptune’s flip side is delusion, addiction, deception and betrayal. If Neptune’s strong in your horoscope, it’s important to ensure you embrace the right kind of escapism and stay connected and rooted in reality.

Neptune In Pisces

Neptune has been in water sign Pisces since 2011. It leaves Pisces on March 30, 2025 and will dip back into Pisces on October 22, 2025 before leaving the last sign of the zodiac on January 26, 2026.

Neptune in Pisces is associated with a deluge of feelings and emotions or the opposite, feeling numb and zoning out through drink or drugs, endless scrolling or binge-watching.

The Neptune in Pisces years have seen a rise in spiritual awareness and psychedelic therapies. Wellness centres and Full Moon circles attract people of all ages, seeking something more to life than the everyday. Fantasy films have been hugely popular and the ground-breaking GOT (Game of Thrones) was televised from 2011 to 2019 during Neptune’s transit through Pisces.

In addition, Neptune in Pisces has coincided with the opioid crisis, conspiracy theories and social media overwhelm – Neptune rules drugs, fantasy and the media. In 2011, everyone was on social media and there were more smartphones than PC’s. Pluto’s move into Aquarius over the last two years has revealed to us the brilliance and dangers of A.I. (Artificial Intelligence).

It’s always interesting to notice what’s foreground when a major planet changes star sign. As Neptune leaves Pisces, one of the huge TV hits of the moment is ‘Adolesence. It covers various themes but one is the danger of social media for our children and the younger generation. It’s a cautionary tale about getting teenagers off screens and engaging with real life again.

Apparently, the average 14-17 year old spends 6 hours a day on social media. It wouldn’t be surprising if people start to leave social media more and more as Neptune moves out of Pisces, the media star sign. It can be an addiction, a place of misinformation where it’s easy to lose touch with reality and the truth. Numerous organisations are encouraging young people to be offline, like Smartphone Free Childhood.

Also, the Neptune in Pisces years have seen a flood of refugees. The conflict in Syria began in 2011 and the biggest year of refugee crisis was 2015 when Jupiter in Virgo opposed Neptune in Pisces – Pisces’ co-rulers. Pisces is a star sign that’s empathetic and sensitive to the suffering of others. As Neptune prepares to leave Pisces and enter Aries, there’s a strong divide between those who care and those who don’t, to put it mildly.

Neptune In Aries

Neptune first enters Aries this weekend on March 30, 2025. Take note of who’s in the news and what emerges on or around this date. Neptune leaves Aries for a few months on October 22, 2025 but will return to the first sign of the zodiac on January 26, 2026 where it will remain until 2039.

There are already a couple of key themes emerging as Neptune gets ready to leave the last star sign Pisces and move to 0° Aries and the beginning of the zodiac.

Aries is ruled by Mars, God of war and wars and warmongers are currently foreground in our world and headlines news. It can’t be ignored that the last time Neptune moved into Aries was 1861, when the American Civil War began. The way the USA is going, the divisions within humanity and the world are growing.

However, it is important to remember that astrology cycles repeat but history doesn’t have to repeat, especially if we can learn from our mistakes and do things differently. And, the American Civil War which started in 1861 led to the start of the abolishment of slavery in 1865.

Yet, Neptune’s move into Aries could be refreshing and bring something new to the mix. There’s a naivety and freshness to Aries, the first star sign. Aries is linked to the Fool in the tarot pack, card no. 0, which represents a return to simplicity and turning away from worldly concerns. There’s an innocence about the fire sign Aries, the new born child.

In addition, Aries is the star sign of the individual and, at its best, Neptune represents interconnectedness and inclusivity. The role of the individual and the importance of individual action may be reflected back to us as Neptune enters Aries. Who will be sacrificed and who will seek salvation?

Will there be more individual experiences of spiritual bliss and transcendence? Or will there be more competition in Neptune-ruled areas of life? Certainly, it feels as if people might be searching for their own spiritual path.

Neptune in Aries isn’t straightforward and doesn’t feel especially comfortable. The little fishes of Neptune’s realm are doing battle with Aries’ mighty ram. Perhaps, there will be literal fights and disputes over water and the seas.

Hopefully, some bold and courageous leaders will emerge as Neptune moves into Aries. Aries is an independent star sign, the pioneer and trailblazer. This could bring exciting new developments within society, innovative, artistic and creative inventions.

Saturn & Neptune In Aries – Fire Sign Era

It’s important to note that Neptune isn’t moving into Aries on its own. Saturn and Neptune are going to be working together in 2025 and this is significant. In June, July & August, they are extremely close in Aries, preparing the way for their epic conjunction in February 2026.

A Saturn-Neptune conjunction takes place approximately once every 36 years. The last time the conjunction took place, it fell in earth sign Capricorn in 1989. One of the most obvious symbols was the fall of the Berlin Wall. Saturn is the planet of boundaries and Neptune dissolves what it touches. Old structures and traditions collapse.

The fall of the Berlin Wall led to the end of the Cold War in 1991. When Saturn and Neptune are working together, they can be about socialist ideals and new political ideologies emerging. There can be a deep commitment to morality and a strong social conscience.

The discipline of the spiritual path is emphasised and Saturn can help to turn Neptune’s dreams into reality. There can be a turning away from materialism and a calling to a life of spirit.

Wherever Aries falls in your horoscope, there may be a theme of sacrifice or surrender. You might be on a deeply spiritual path or decide to devote your life to your beliefs or ideals. You may be committed to a cause that’s dear to your heart. At its best, use Saturn and Neptune together to preserve the arts or to pursue a creative, compassionate or charitable vocation.

Be wary of falling into fear or doubt which is the negative side of this combination. Saturn and Neptune together can be a symbol of guilt or shame. Collective grief is a theme of this pairing as Saturn is Old Father Time and Neptune, the vale of tears.

Don’t let addictions spiral out of control and put your faith in healing and miracles. Practise self-forgiveness and remember that finding peace and contentment is an inner process.

On a personal level, you’re likely to be aware of Neptune’s shift into Aries this year if you have planets/angles close to 29° Pisces & 0° Aries, endings & beginnings, alpha & omega. Alternatively, if you’re a Pisces or Aries or you have Neptune strong in your horoscope.

Otherwise, it may start to make more sense what this means for you once the personal planets begin to interact with Neptune. Communication planet Mercury makes a conjunction with Neptune in Aries on April 17th and two days later, on April 19th, action planet Mars in Leo makes a trine aspect with Neptune in Aries.

The middle of the year could reveal more when Saturn joins Neptune in Aries from May 25th to September 1st and these two mighty planets are side-by-side.
