Full Moon [16 Libra 07]
London – April 6 2023 (05:34 GMT+1)
New York – April 6 2023 (00:34 GMT-4)
Sydney – April 6 2023 (15:34 GMT+11)
This weekend’s Full Moon falls in the star sign Libra, cutting across the Aries/Libra axis of the zodiac – me (Aries) versus you (Libra). Yet, the theme of a Full Moon is to be aware of opposites and learn how to balance them well.
This may be especially true of a Full Moon in Libra, whose zodiac symbol is the scales. This Full Moon is often referred to as the Pink Moon, fitting for the star sign Libra which favours pastel and light pink colours.
Full Moon Rituals
Full Moon rituals are becoming more popular. Wherever you live, you may not be far from a Full Moon community gathering. The Full Moon is a time of celebration when the light of the moon is at its brightest. It’s an ideal time to honour the stars and planets and your place within the universe.
A Full Moon often brings clarity and insight. This is the realm of the unconscious, the night world and all that’s hidden. It’s about trusting your deep inner knowingness and doing what feels right.
As a Full Moon is the culmination of the moon cycle, it’s an ideal time to consider what no longer serves you, to use the power of the Full Moon to release and let go. Write things down on a piece of paper that you want to change or clear away and burn them in a fire.
Moon Libra – Peace & Harmony
If you were born with the Moon in Libra, you thrive in a peaceful & harmonious environment and appreciate relationships that are in balance. In whatever star sign you find the Moon in your horoscope, this is where you discover more about how your emotional needs are met.
Libra is the star sign of the zodiac that is averse to conflict. Yet, when you’re born with the sign of the scales dominant in your birth chart, you invariably have to deal with inequality in your life and you are naturally drawn into relationship issues. Often, it’s a case of trying to balance the scales rather than live in a world of constant harmony.
Full Moon & Relationships
At this Full Moon, consider where balance is needed in your life, what’s yours to deal with and what belongs to other people. The Moon is in the relationship sign of Libra whereas the Sun is in Aries, the sign of the individual.
You may have to consider other people in your life more than usual during this Full Moon. Try to ensure that the Libra scales are balanced. If not entirely harmonious, at least aim for compromise, equality and fairness.
Close relationships fall under the light of the Full Moon when the Sun in Aries opposes the Moon in Libra. Aries is the sign of the ego, where the Sun can shine bright. Me first, my agenda, not yours.
Libra’s the opposite principle – ‘no please, you go first’, ‘what do you think?’, ‘you decide’. Notice your differences in relationships and try not to make one another wrong.
Relationship issues may come to light during this Full Moon when emotions are heightened. You may be craving love or want your loved ones close. Reach out to other people under the gaze of the benevolent Full Moon. Give hugs, ask for what you need.
Lovely Venus
The ruler of the Libra Full Moon is Venus, the planet of love and relationships. Venus is currently in earth sign Taurus where she holds court, in a gentle yet firm manner. Venus dominates over the long holiday weekend whether you’re celebrating Easter, Passover or you’re gathering with family.
Someone needs to tend to the food, calm the peace, quieten the noise. Venus in Taurus favours feasting, comfort and nurturing relationships. Be intentional about the role you’re going to play if you’re together with family. Also, in your significant relationships.
Lucky Jupiter
The closest planetary aspect to the Full Moon comes from big planet Jupiter. Jupiter in Aries opposes the Moon in Libra on April 6th. Jupiter is often about groups of people coming together and expands what it touches. This gives extra oomph to this week’s Full Moon and Jupiter has a hedonist quality. It could be a wild Full Moon ride.
Yet, the Sun is moving towards a conjunction with Jupiter in Aries on April 11th. This is one of the luckiest planetary encounters of the year. This could add some magic to this week’s Full Moon so breathe life into your wishes and conjure up miracles.
Jupiter’s a reminder that luck is an attitude – be willing to take a risk, play big, dive into your dreams, believe in yourself and allow yourself to imagine that anything’s possible.
What Does It Mean For You?
The Aries/Libra axis is about relationships for everyone but these two star signs rule specific areas of your life. This is where balance may be a current theme. Where would your life benefit from realignment? Read both your Sun sign and your Ascendant sign if you know it:
- Aries: Personal goals & self care – relationships, contracts & one-on-one partnership
- Taurus: Retreat & recuperation, inner work – work, service to others, health & fitness
- Gemini: Friends, groups & social networks – self-expression, creativity, children & romance
- Cancer: Career & vocation, the future – home & family, the past
