The next Full Moon falls on September 26, the time of the month when emotions are heightened and sleep patterns disrupted. The Moon’s pull affects the tides and a woman’s menstrual cycle is in sync with the monthly phase of the Moon.
Menses, another term for the menstrual cycle, is derived from the word ‘month’ which in turn is derived from the word ‘moon’. The lunar deity is as prevalent in our world today as she ever was.
Moon Goddesses were honoured in ancient times, before the dominance of the masculine Sun Gods took hold. The astrological qualities associated with the Moon are kind, caring, protective, feminine energies, nurturing the people and the earth.
These are excellent qualities for leadership, although not always admired in our current climate.
Moon Goddesses were often huntresses, both at home and active in the dark of night. This was their world, witchy and intuitive. You hear more in the silence of the night than the noise of the day.
During the Full Moon, the King (Sun) and Queen (Moon) of the heavens oppose one another across the zodiac. Yet, the Full Moon is the Moon’s show, as it’s her beauty we admire as she shines her light brightly upon us.
This year, September 25 is the mid-autumn festival in the Chinese Year. They celebrate by eating moon cakes, honouring the Moon as she grows ever more powerful during her Full Moon phase.
Aries’ Energy
This Full Moon falls in Aries, the sign of individuality and the first sign of the zodiac. Aries can be an explosive and passionate energy, strident and brave. It’s tempting to slumber at this time of year and yet, Aries shouts out loud ‘be energised, be alive’.
The role of the individual grows more important when the Moon is in Aries, bringing you back to yourself. Full Moons are traditionally about completion and events culminating but the Moon in Aries flicks the switch and wants action, something new.
When the world feels out of control, this is when it’s important to take responsibility for your actions and know the true value of yourself.
During the Full Moon, the Moon in Aries opposes the Sun in Libra, the sign of relationships. People matter, people count when Libra’s influence shines brightly.
How you are in the world impacts the people around you. Other people’s actions impact you. Yet, you can still choose how to respond, how to be a good human being.
We’re in this world together, side-by-side, and each one of us can make a choice every day on how we want to be around other people and how we want to be in the world.
During this week’s Aries Full Moon, be energised. Ask yourself what you will stand up for and take personal responsibility about how you want to be. Full Moon magic and power is at its peak during the Full Moon so harness it well.
The Big Pattern
The Big Pattern dominated during the last two weeks of July 2026 when the three modern planets, Uranus in Gemini, Neptune in Aries and Pluto in Aquarius created a Minor Grand Trine aspect in the heavens.
They remain together in this aspect until Uranus starts to pull away, which only really happens in 2028. And, the faster-moving planets are continually being pulled into the pattern and recreating the Big Pattern.
This weekend, it’s the Sun’s turn to create a dynamic pattern with the modern planets from September 26 to 28.
On the day of the Full Moon, the Sun is at 3° Libra opposite Neptune at 3° Aries and trine Pluto at 3° Aquarius. Two days later, the Sun is at 5° Libra trine Uranus at 5° Gemini.
Neptune is the key player in the Full Moon as it sits next to the Moon. Both planetary bodies are reflective and conjure up a theme of dreams, sentimentality and magic. This is potentially a romantic Full Moon and a wonderful weekend for celebration.
The Dangers of the Big Pattern
However, Neptune opposite the Sun can mean it’s hard to see things clearly. The light is reflected which can lead to seeing things from a distorted image or warped perspective.
Neptune favours fantasy over reality, so be wary of lies and untruths. Neptune’s realm is the media which can be a forum for sound journalism. Yet, in recent times, has been dominated by fake news, hype and persuasion.
The Sun in Libra creates a Grand Air Trine with Uranus in Gemini and Pluto in Aquarius. This is important for finding your tribe and reaching out to your networks and connections. Be around people who inspire you and work at creating community and strength within society. It’s much-needed right now as hate and division is evident within our world.
The air signs favour technology too and Uranus in Gemini for the next seven years alongside Pluto in Aquarius for the next eighteen years is speeding up the rise of AI.
It seems that the modern planets’ move into air (Gemini, Aquarius) and fire (Aries) is setting us on a path that’s dangerous, trying to disconnect us from the earth and the land, the seas and the rivers. AI is everywhere as more and more data centres eat up our energy and water.
There’s a rush of money invested into space programmes (air element) and you can’t help but think that some leaders want to destroy humanity and the earth, while they buy up land in far-away places so they can ride out Armageddon.
This is the real danger that we’re facing. Don’t fall for their lies that try and push us towards division and hate and stop us working together as one world.
Tap into the progressive and forward-moving themes that the Big Pattern is creating, remember that every individual counts (Aries) and play your part within society. Don’t lose sight of what really matters and stay aware of what’s happening around us.
