If you know anything about astrology, you may already know that March heralds two big astrological events: Saturn entering Pisces on the 7th and Pluto entering Aquarius on the 23rd. I’ve addressed what both these events mean for you in separate sections at the bottom of this month’s horoscope.
Pisces Season
People count in March as the Sun is in water sign Pisces until the 20th and talk planet Mercury is here from the 2nd to the 19th.
Straightway, this suggests that it’s not a month to be on your own. Instead, reach out to other people. Whether you want to ask for help and support or offer fun and friendship or vice versa, encourage the flow of love and connection in your life.
If you’re looking for love or companionship, this is an ideal time for making new connections and seeking friends and people of like minds. There’s a gentle vibe to your communications, offering you an opportunity to connect on a deep and emotional level with other people.
The Full Moon on the 7th lights up the Virgo/Pisces axis of your horoscope. This is about education and being inspired by others. Attend a talk, read books that come recommended and embrace knowledge and learning. If new invitations come your way, follow them up. Step out of your comfort zone and embrace alternative ways of thinking and new age activities.
It’s a good time to encourage your imagination and use visual tools to help turn your dreams into reality. What you read or hear during this period could be inspirational and fuel your own ideas.
Pisces is a compassionate star sign and linked to your community, your neighbourhood, your siblings and relatives. This combination is connecting and inclusive, kind and caring. Follow your emotions and open your heart during March. Themes of forgiveness are strong, whether you want to heal a rift or say ‘I’m sorry’.
This is about speaking from the heart, whether you say ‘thank you’ more or compliment other people more. Kindness breeds kindness, so keep this mantra in mind.
The trickiest period is potentially from the 14th to the 17th when you may lose your way or feel unusually emotional. Things may not work out during these few days or you hear a story that makes you cry. Aim to surrender to life rather than fight back. Allow your feelings to roll through you and don’t suppress them.
Mars On The Move
There’s another big shift this month involving action planet Mars. Work could be something of a crazy arena with ambitious Mars in Gemini and your work sector completing its journey through this sector of your horoscope.
Mars has been in Gemini for an unusually long time since August 2022. Mars turned retrograde here in the last two months of 2022 and the first half of January 2023. You may have been able to make progress and get things done. Perhaps, you’ve had a big writing project on the go or you’ve been dealing with a new team of people.
Mars leaves its shadow phase on the 16th and this represents a sea-change. Take care that you don’t lose too much of your energy and vitality in your work. Office politics could be stressful as Mars is linked to anger and arguments. Notice where you feel under pressure, when you feel stressed and when it would be wise to back away.
Health falls under Gemini’s gaze so consider what this might mean for your health and fitness as Mars prepares to move on. It could be the end of a health problem or issue. Or, perhaps you’ve discovered some new ideas and solutions when it comes to your health and well-being.
Mars enters Cancer and your opposite star sign on the 25th turning your attention towards your one-to-ones, both personal and professional. The best date for negotiations is the 30th when Mars aligns with your ruling planet Saturn, a symbol of commitment.
Aries Season
Home and family affairs fall under the cosmic spotlight this month. The planet of relating Venus is in Aries and this sector of your horoscope until the 16th. The main Aries drive happens later in the month, however, with a flurry of activity after the 19th.
This is when talk planet Mercury enters Aries followed one day later by the Sun’s move into Aries on the 20th, the day of the Equinox. Plus, on the 21st, there’s a New Moon here, a symbol of new beginnings.
If you’re looking to move home or you’re changing around your living situation, this is a great time to get busy and get things moving.
This confirms that people are important in your life and it’s an ideal time to team up with family and loved ones to start something new. This is a peak period in the year for family connections.
And, if you’re looking for a little bit of luck or good fortune in this area of your life, remember that big planet Jupiter is here, the planet of growth and expansion.
Plus, on the 2nd, there’s a lucky Venus-Jupiter conjunction in Aries, an ideal date for a family celebration or sharing resources. Then, on the 28th, there’s a Mercury-Jupiter conjunction in Aries which may coincide with good news.
At times this month, life may feel hectic and you’ll be required to respond quickly. Yet, there’s much to be enjoyed too. The more you slow down the pace of life, the more pleasure is available to you and, strangely enough, the more you may get done.
Saturn Enters Pisces – March 7
Saturn is the planet of rules and regulation, authority, discipline and boundaries. Since December 2017, Saturn has been in Capricorn and Aquarius, its two signs of rulership. Saturn rules with a firm hand during this period.
This month, Saturn moves into Pisces, the last star sign and an emotional water sign, which is unknown territory for the planet representing boundaries. Pisces is where the ego dissolves and you encounter the vast universe, the one-ness of life.
Will the unreal become real as fantasy, the imagination and the impossible become possible? Or, will Saturn bring structure and form to Pisces’ realm, e.g. the sea, drugs, the media, spirituality? The last time Saturn was in Pisces was 1993-1996 and this time around, Saturn remains in Pisces until 2026.
Saturn is your ruling planet and hugely significant when it changes star sign. Saturn’s moving out of your money sector (Aquarius) and into your communication sector (Pisces).
As Saturn rules commitment and discipline, you might be considering a course of study over the next few years or want to train as a teacher and pass on your wisdom. It’s a strong transit for writing, broadcasting or becoming a voice of authority.
You may take on a significant role within your community or neighbourhood and Pisces rules siblings and close relatives. However, as Saturn is the planet of endings, you could decide to take a step back from a leadership position.
Pluto Enters Aquarius – March 23
The slowest-moving planet Pluto changes star sign this month and moves into Aquarius. Pluto is the planet of power & transformation, loss & endings. The last time Pluto changed star sign was 2008 when it entered Capricorn, the sign of big business, coinciding with a financial crash.
It will take Pluto eighteen months before it’s established in Aquarius, the star sign linked to technology, equality and the collective, where it will remain until 2043.
As Pluto’s a generational planet, the themes may not resonate with you immediately. Yet, it’s helpful to note where Pluto is strong in your horoscope and where there may be a theme of transformation, loss or deep psychological change.
Pluto’s been moving through your star sign Capricorn so it’s likely that who you are now is very different to who you were when Pluto entered Capricorn back in 2008. This is the planet of deep psychological transformation, after all.
You may be relieved that Pluto’s starting to move away from your star sign. Or, perhaps you’ve enjoyed your position as a ‘plutocrat’ or person of power and influence.
Pluto’s move into Aquarius means it’s time to focus deeper on your finances and your values in life. Pluto’s linked to hidden wealth and this may be a time when you want to use your money to benefit society. Or, perhaps you have some tough decisions to make around finances. Take your time and wield your power to good effect.
