October could turn out to be the pivotal month of the year. There’s so much big astrology taking place echoing what’s coming in 2023. Here’s what’s most significant for you to take note of:
Mercury Turns Direct
Communication planet Mercury has been retrograde, i.e. in retreat since September 10th. It’s been quite a chaotic Mercury retrograde phase so you may be delighted to start getting things organised. Mercury’s turning point happens at the start of the month on the 2nd. This is often a date when news or information comes to light that’s been hidden.
Mercury turns direct in Virgo and your work and health sector. It’s an ideal time for you to get back on track with everyday tasks, projects and chores. Plus, take good care of your body and prioritise your health. Mercury remains in Virgo until the 11th.
Full Moon Aries
This month’s Full Moon takes place on the 9th and it’s an important Full Moon for you as the Moon is in your star sign Aries. Full Moons can be dramatic, a time when emotions are heightened. You may be feeling more passionate or emotional than usual during the Full Moon phase. With the Sun in Libra, relationships are under the cosmic spotlight.
Plus, lovely Venus is in Libra and your relationship sector and sits next to the Sun. This combination is great for popularity and attracting what you want. This may be a powerful time for your one-to-one relationships. Trust your intuition during the Full Moon phase, decide who you want in your life and notice who’s by your side.
The Sun & Venus remain side by side in lovely Libra until the 22nd when they make a powerful conjunction. If you’re in a relationship or married, this could be a time when your relationship goes from strength to strength. Certainly, you’re likely to be more aware of the power of partnership, both personally and professionally.
The 17th, 19th & 27th are the best dates to work alongside other people. Use your networks, your contacts and align yourself with the right people.
Scorpio Solar Eclipse
On the 23rd, the Sun & Venus dive into Scorpio together, one of the intense water signs. You may sense a shift in your life after this date. Up until the 23rd, it’s all about the air signs – networking, communication, community, alliances. After the 23rd, you may be dealing more with what’s hidden, your inner world.
Scorpio rules psychoanalysis, psychic gifts, all things esoteric and magical. Sometimes, you need to find an obsession when Scorpio season kicks in. Plus, on the 25th, there’s a powerful Solar Eclipse in Scorpio. This is part of the eclipse cycle that began in November 2021 and completes in October 2023. It’s about money for you, also inner work.
A Solar Eclipse is a New Moon with oomph. Take note of what you learn or hear on or around this eclipse as it could lead to financial transformation. Eclipses can feel scary and there’s one more to come this year on November 8th. It’s a cosmic reminder that money and energy are closely aligned, also that the wheel of fortune is turning.
Check out the eclipse do’s & don’ts below but know that a Solar Eclipse is encouraging you to close a door on the past and start over in some way. There may be a link between money & death or money & the past. Scorpio is the planet linked to the underworld so you could be exposed to corruption or underhand means to make money. Tread carefully if this is true for you.
Mars Retrograde
Finally, at the end of the month, your planet Mars turns retrograde on the 30th. Mars will remain on go slow until January 12, 2023. Therefore, it’s important to note that the last two months of this year, November & December, are going to be marked by your ruling planet Mars in retreat.
This isn’t easy for you as it can mean you’re not in control. You may be frustrated by other people’s actions and find it’s harder to get ahead. Mars is currently in Gemini and your communication sector so be super careful about what you write or say during the retrograde phase as it could be used against you.
Mars retrograde is a time to take your foot off the accelerator and not push too hard. Turn your attention inward, plan ahead, rework your strategy and get ready to leap into action in January 2023 once Mars is back up to speed.
Two days before Mars turns retrograde, expansive Jupiter returns to Pisces and the most hidden sector of your horoscope. Jupiter remains here until December 20th when the planet of luck and fortune returns to your star sign Aries.
This is a cosmic nudge to slow down the pace and allow yourself not to know what you want or where you’re heading. This isn’t your usual mode of action but your astrology is asking you to reconsider, take a step back, allow yourself to wander and explore fully even if, at times, you feel lost.
You may be aware of this throughout October as Mars slows down and is square to Neptune in Pisces on the 12th – go with the flow & learn to be ok with not knowing.
This may be one reason why you’re lining up people to help you, in all areas of your life. Get the right people on your side and think carefully about what you want to get involved in and what you don’t. Learning to say no could be an important lesson to learn, whether you’re diving deep into study or research or you need to take good care of your precious self.
Eclipse Do’s & Don’ts
Eclipse season kicks in this month & next as the Taurus/Scorpio eclipse cycle continues. Here are some eclipse tips:
- Try not to fear an eclipse – they are a reminder that you’re not always in control.
- Ideally, don’t choose an eclipse date to launch a project or start something new.
- Wait a few days after an eclipse before taking action. Eclipse symbolism is shadowy and hidden.
- Once the eclipse shadow lifts, then you can try to take advantage of any changes that have occurred.
- Know that the eclipses are closely linked to the karmic nodes & wheel of destiny – sometimes, they offer a turning point ready or not.
