The Sun enters your star sign Virgo next month on August 22nd. Yet this month, action planet Mars is in Virgo throughout July. When planets are in your star sign, the focus is on your image and profile, your personal goals and aims. It’s time to focus on you and put yourself and your own needs first.
If you’re a typical Virgo, you like to be there for others and to look after other people. Yet sometimes in the process, you drop yourself out. This isn’t the time to do so. Instead, do whatever it takes to boost your self-esteem, increase your self-belief and put yourself first.
Crack on with new goals and plans straightaway this month. Tackle life head on and be strategic before your ruling planet Mercury turns retrograde on the 18th.
Your star sign Virgo favours order, organisation and systems. Whether you’re sorting out your knicker drawer, filling in forms or doing your filing, get life in order before Mercury switches direction.
Friends & Connections
Whatever takes place this month, ensure you have support in your life. This is because the Sun is in caring Cancer until the 22nd and Cancer rules your friendships and group projects. You could be more active within politics or a humanitarian or environmental group.
Plus, note that big planet Jupiter has taken up residence in Cancer where it will remain until June 2026. Why are you expanding your friendship groups and why are group involvements more important for you?
Certainly, this is a key month to consider your group activities. Think about which activities work for you and where you may need or want to let go and move on.
The Full Moon on the 10th could highlight any potential issues and would be an ideal date to release a commitment or responsibility around a group activity. Alternatively, this may be the time when you commit to a long-term group project. Either way, the Full Moon is ideal for making a clear decision.
Friends could take up more of your time this month, especially if you have some friends going through challenges. Be there for others but be careful of over-giving, which is a Virgo trait. Ensure you have time and space for your projects too.
Throughout July, notice which friendships are nurturing for you. Seek mutually-beneficial friendships and connections, where you can support and care for one another in turn
Retreat & Self-Care
There’s a shift in energy on the 18th. This is when your ruling planet Mercury turns retrograde in Leo and the most hidden sector of your horoscope.
This is a good time to deal with any personal issues and work on boosting your inner confidence or prioritising self-care. If life’s been too social of late, make it a priority to take good care of yourself.
Also, the Sun enters Leo on the 22nd. Therefore, this is a time when you’re wise to turn down the busy life dial, learn to chill out, relax and take it easy. Go on retreat or ensure you have some quiet time before life gets busy again.
The New Moon falls in Leo on the 24th, a symbol of new beginnings. Where in life would you like more acknowledgement, compliments or adoration? Speak up if necessary and do so in a way that’s connecting and authentic. Reach out and care for others but most importantly, care for yourself.
The Sun’s move through Leo is traditionally a cosmic call for you to take a step back, relax and retreat. This is doubly important from the 18th onwards as your ruler Mercury moves into its retrograde phase.
One area of life where you may need to stop and rethink is around money and investment. Two other planets turn retrograde this month, the planet of dreams Neptune and the planet of responsibility Saturn. Both planets switch direction in Aries and your joint finance sector, Neptune on the 4th and Saturn on the 13th.
Plus, once Mercury is retrograde on the 18th, you’re wise not to invest or make a major financial decision until Mercury’s back up to speed on August 11th.
Perhaps, you have some long-term financial goals and not everything is falling into place. Know that both Saturn and Neptune will return to Aries early next year with power and intensity in February 2026. Sometimes, you have to trust the timing of life and know when to slow down and pull back.
Uranus Enters Gemini
Finally this month, there’s a once-in-a-lifetime planetary transit taking place involving innovative, wild-card planet Uranus. Uranus leaves behind earth sign Taurus and your travel and study sector on the 7th where it’s been since 2018.
Uranus will move into Gemini, the star sign at the peak of your horoscope, ruling your career and vocation, your future path. Uranus will dip back into Taurus from November 2026 to April 2026 but then it returns to Gemini for the next seven years.
This could be a truly exciting and revolutionary time for you when you may change what you want to do career-wise. Uranus is unconventional, a maverick influence, and doesn’t want to toe the line.
Also, Uranus is the planet of technology and the New Age. You might be starting an online business or use the internet to reach a wider audience and bring community together. Or perhaps, you’re simply ready to turn things upside down and try something new.
Note that when Uranus is active, external circumstances often bring about change, ready or not. Certainly, one thing it will be difficult to do this month is stay put in the same job and do nothing.

Remember the Mercury retrograde mantra – put off the big decisions & major investments when the communication planet is on go slow from July 18th to August 11th. Here are some top tips:
