Leo Horoscope July 2025
Quiet Time
Your ruler the Sun remains in Cancer and the most hidden sector of your horoscope until the 22nd. Traditionally, this is a time to wrap things up or prepare yourself ready for a new phase.
There’s often a hidden theme when planets are in the star sign before yours. This turns your attention inward and you may be dealing with secrets or confidences.
Cancer is a caring star sign, emotional and giving. This could be a time when you’re aware you need extra TLC (tender loving care). Or perhaps, there’s someone close you’re caring for. Use this period to take stock and mull things over. If you can rest and retreat more than usual, do so.
This is where you find big planet Jupiter which has now taken up residence in Cancer. Jupiter in Cancer’s theme is the Great Protector so consider who you might be caring for or looking after. It’s an ideal time for research and preparing yourself for a big adventure once Jupiter moves into your star sign Leo in July 2026.
Yet, there’s no need to rush this month and the stars are encouraging you to slow down and find your flow. The Full Moon on the 10th highlights work and routine, health and service to others. It’s an ideal date to ask for what you want or need. Get the right health diagnosis or firm up plans for a job or volunteering role.
Look out for the person who cares for you the most, someone you can lean on and who brings comfort to you. This may be a counsellor or carer. Alternatively, you may be the one taking on this role in another person’s life.
Fire Sign Freedom
The turning point for you comes on the 22nd when your ruler the Sun enters your star sign Leo. The Sun represents heat and vitality and the Sun’s move into Leo may coincide with a confidence boost or a surge in energy. You may be actively seeking the sun to warm your spirits.
The Sun joins talk planet Mercury in Leo, the communication planet. Mercury’s in Leo throughout July but is slowing down from the start of the month. Even so, consider where you may be called to take centre stage or find your place to shine.
When planets are in Leo, it’s a good time to show off your skills and talents, enjoy yourself and celebrate. You might be more than ready for a new adventure and want to embrace new experiences. The New Moon in Leo on the 24th could be a stand-out date in this respect as this is an excellent date to set your intentions and initiate new projects or ideas.
The New Moon in Leo is the equivalent of your astrological personal New Year, so look ahead and think about your future plans. New Moon energy encourages you to line up new goals for your future path. Fire some arrows high into the sky and see where they land.
Not all your arrows will take flight immediately and that’s ok. There are two major reasons for this. Firstly, the planet of dreams Neptune and the planet of long-term planning Saturn both turn retrograde this month in fire sign Aries and your travel and study sector. Neptune switches direction on the 4th followed by Saturn on the 13th.
Consider what’s not working out or where you may need to find out more. Both planets will be back in Aries with a bang in February 2026. This could be significant for you in what you’re working towards.
Also, Mercury is moving towards its next retrograde phase on the 18th. This time around, Mercury will be on go slow in your star sign Leo until August 11th. Therefore, you may change your mind during this period. Perhaps, what you want at the start of the month isn’t what you want at the end of the month.
Or life throws you a curveball and takes you on a detour. A wonderful way of using this Mercury retrograde phase would be to go on holiday and seek the sun.
Virgo Vibes
Also this month, you’re wise to pay close attention to money matters. It’s a good time to get organised, safeguard your cash and get on top of finances. This might mean sorting out administrative paperwork, setting up a budget or lining up new money targets or goals.
This is because action planet Mars is in Virgo and your personal money sector throughout July. This is a sensible placing for Mars encouraging you to get on top of money matters.
If you’re dealing with financial transactions, budgeting or working out expenses, crack on with it. It’s wise to make any major investments before Mercury switches direction on the 18th. This is because Mercury is linked to the money markets.
Uranus Enters Gemini
Finally this month, there’s a major planetary shift taking place on the 7th. This is when Uranus moves out of earth sign Taurus, where it’s been since 2018. It will return for a few months from November 2025 to April 2026 but this first move feels significant.
Taurus rules your career and vocation, your future path, your status and reputation. Therefore, Uranus leaving Taurus could coincide with the end of a job or contract. You might decide to get away from a difficult situation and take yourself off to pastures new.
Uranus rules technology and all things modern and it’s the freelance planet, so consider whether a move towards more security in your life might benefit you. Perhaps, your finances are shifting and changing too and you’re not sure where the next pay-cheque is coming from.
These are the key areas for you where endings and beginnings are foreground – work and money. Nothing is final this month but you may be in a completely new work or money situation come April 2026.
Uranus is moving into air sign Gemini which highlights friends, groups and society in your horoscope. You may be shifting your gaze from a materialistic lifestyle to one that’s more in tune with society and being alongside other people in community.
You could be founding your own community. Or perhaps, you’re ready to take on a more rebellious or revolutionary role within society.
Mercury Retrograde Do’s & Don’ts
Remember the Mercury retrograde mantra – put off the big decisions & major investments when the communication planet is on go slow from July 18th to August 11th. Here are some top tips:
- be flexible, have plans B, C & D up your sleeve
- take a step back, do less not more
- double-check everything, read the small print
- chase up old contacts, revisit the past
- use all the re-words – revise, rework, review, reconsider
- rest & retreat, take a break, go on holiday
- do your research ready to act when Mercury turns direct
