What Makes A Gemini Like Johnny Depp Happy?

When you’ve been an astrologer for many years, you respond to the world differently. You’re attuned to the symbolism of the planetary archetypes and zodiac constellations and this offers a deeper experience of life. It’s a reminder of the interconnectedness of all things.

It also makes life fun. When I read tabloid headlines such as, “Johnny Depp was ‘bored senseless’ with Vanessa Paradis”, my immediate thought is, “aah yes, well he is a Gemini (livewire) and she’s a Capricorn (conservative)”.

And the classic, “Johnny Depp buys a horse for Amber Heard” elicits a snorty chuckle because, after all, Jupiter rules horses and Jupiter entered Johnny Depp’s sign of Gemini on 11th June 2012 for its yearly visit. This is astrology in action and astrology makes life more colourful and meaningful.

But back to Johnny Depp who I adore. He’s a quirky Gemini whose persona as Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean was wonderfully mischievous and full of surprises. The perfect Gemini role. He can be stunningly good-looking one minute but another time look plain odd. Gemini is a dual-natured sign ruled by Mercury, the trickster and fleet-footed messenger of the Gods, so there are often two distinct sides to this complex sign.

I have quite a few Gemini friends who I love (you know who you are). There’s an eccentricity about Gemini folk, a youthfulness, a playful side to their personality and at their best they enjoy life and people and make you laugh. Being a Scorpio, I often think of Geminis as my alter ego. There’s a shared curiosity about life and a thirst for knowledge and understanding.

I’ve talked before in one of my blogs about soulmate compatibility which is a connection between people whose Sun signs are 8 signs apart in the zodiac and Gemini-Capricorn fits this model (Scorpio-Gemini too). Let’s not dismiss the fact that Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis had been together 14 years which in celebrity-land is a lifetime, and they have two children together, so there’s obviously a deep connection between the two of them.

Whatever the real reason for their split, we know through astrology that as Gemini is a dual-natured sign, most Geminis marry at least twice or have more than one long-term relationship. ‘Variety is the spice of life’ may be a cliche but it fits for Gemini, a sign who loves to flit from one thing to another and finds it hard to concentrate. Capricorn can teach Gemini loads about the benefits of commitment and constancy but doing one thing for a long time isn’t Gemini’s way.

The tabloids have also said that Johnny Depp was “getting close to multiple women” before his split with his partner was officially announced. I don’t know many Geminis with conventional relationships and who are we to judge what’s the “right” relationship anyway. Looking at the complete astrological charts for Johnny Depp, Vanessa Paradis and Amber Heard would reveal more about the situation and the reasons why.

But for the purposes of this article, it looks as if Johnny Depp is simply being true to his Gemini nature, whether you see that as fickle or not. Jupiter often brings freedom and new opportunities to the sign it’s in, and it looks as if this particular Gemini has simply discovered a new lease of life.
