Top Tips Astrology – September 2025: Eclipse Month

September 2025 Astrology

Your horoscopes for September are here.

It’s a lively month with two eclipses, an Equinox and important planetary shifts. Here’s what’s happening:

Saturn re-enters Pisces

September 1

A big theme of this year is endings and beginnings as the outer planets move in and out of new star signs. This month, one of the leader planets Saturn leaves the first sign of the zodiac Aries and returns to the last sign of the zodiac Pisces on September 1. Less action, more compassion?

Saturn’s been in Aries since May 25, 2025 and will return to Aries on February 14, 2026.

Saturn is the planet of authority, discipline and hard work. In Pisces, Saturn is the shaman, guru and emotional conscience. What are you diving back into this month and where are old emotions resurfacing?

Saturn’s journey into Pisces began in March 2023 and this is the last chapter.

Uranus turns retrograde

September 6

Wild-card Uranus switches direction in air sign Gemini on September 6 and turns retrograde. Like Saturn, Uranus will return to the previous star sign Taurus on November 8.

As Uranus switches direction this month, consider where you may be required to change tack or take an about-turn. Uranus is a similar energy to the eclipses as life steps in to spring a surprise or lead you in a new direction.

Uranus represents freedom, rebellion, new advancements, change and the unexpected and it’s hard to stay put doing the same thing when Uranus is active. Technology glitches, electricity, lightning and anxiety can all be triggered when Uranus is active.

Lunar Eclipse

September 7

This is eclipse season, a time of change. This month’s Full Moon is a Lunar Eclipse and the first of two eclipses, one on September 7 and one on September 21.

This month’s eclipses are part of the eclipse cycle which began in September 2024 and completes in February 2027. What’s happening this month may complete or create an echo in March 2026

This eclipse cycle spells big news for the star signs Pisces and Virgo, because this is where the eclipses fall. Wherever these two star signs are in your horoscope, this is where you can expect drama and heightened emotions.

Eclipses are often thought of as game-changers, as a shadow falls before revealing what’s hidden. Once the light returns, a new landscape appears signposting a new path ahead.

A Lunar Eclipse is an opposition which can create tension. Ideally, aim to get in the flow of the Virgo-Pisces axis.

Solar Eclipse Virgo

September 21

The New Moon on September 21 is a Solar Eclipse in Virgo. This follows on from a New Moon in Virgo on August 23.

Last month’s New Moon was at the start of Virgo and this month’s New Moon Solar Eclipse is at the end of Virgo.

A New Moon Solar Eclipse is the equivalent of a turbo-powered New Moon when change happens fast and you step into a new chapter or portal. Yet, sometimes a new beginning only takes place after an ending.

Note that this is the only Solar Eclipse in the whole Virgo/Pisces eclipse cycle. Therefore, it could be extra powerful and may help you move things forward.

Here are some eclipse tips:

  • Try not to fear an eclipse – they are a reminder that fate is part of your destiny.
  • Ideally, don’t choose an eclipse date to launch a project or start something new.
  • Wait a few days after an eclipse before taking action. Eclipse symbolism is shadowy and hidden.
  • Once the eclipse shadow lifts, then you can take advantage of any changes that have occurred.
  • Know that eclipses are closely linked to the karmic nodes – they often act as a signpost or turning point.

EQUINOX – Sun enters Libra

September 22

The Sun’s move into Libra on September 22 coincides with the Equinox and brings a change of season.

Equinox means ‘equal night’ (equal day) as the axis of the earth tilts, heralding the start of autumn in the northern hemisphere and spring in the southern hemisphere.

Traditionally, Libra is the star sign of peace, balance and harmony. Ensure you focus on the harmonious side of Libra season and aim for balance in your life.

As the Equinox falls after two eclipses, it may be even more important to do what’s needed to stay steady.
