Neptune In Aries – Ocean Documentary

Neptune in Aries

One of the phrases I use a lot in astrology is ‘a symbol doesn’t mean just one thing’. A planet has different resonances or meanings as does each of the star signs. In addition, there are positive and negative showings in how a planet’s symbolism impacts yourself and life on earth.

It’s always heartening to see the astrology play out in a way that’s real and hopeful and this is what’s been happening with Neptune’s epic move into Aries, the first star sign.

Neptune In Aries

In mythology Neptune was God of the sea and Neptune rules Pisces, the last star sign, a vast and boundless universe. Neptune’s the planet of fantasy linked to films and the imagination and, this year, Neptune’s swimming in and out of the last star sign Pisces and the first star sign Aries.

Neptune’s been in its sign of rulership water sign Pisces since 2011 but, on March 30 this year, Neptune changed star sign and moved into fire sign Aries. It’s not alone in doing so as ‘get real’ Saturn made the same shift from Pisces to Aries on May 25. Plus, both planets will go back into Pisces, Saturn on September 1 and Neptune on October 22.

Next year, they return to Aries – Neptune on January 26, 2026 and Saturn on February 14, 2026. They go on to make their epic conjunction at the first degree of the zodiac, 0° Aries, on February 20, 2026.

Yet, this summer, they’re side by side in Aries and we’re learning what this is about. If you want to read more about this, go to my previous article here: Neptune Enters Aries: A New World.

Ocean – David Attenborough documentary

Recently, I went to watch David Attenborough‘s new documentary Ocean. It came out on May 8, his 99th birthday and was made available globally on June 8. It’s hard not to watch without seeing the themes of Neptune and Saturn in Aries playing out.

The documentary went global a few days before the major squares between Jupiter and Saturn on June 15 and Jupiter and Neptune on June 19. Note that both Jupiter and Neptune are co-rulers of Pisces, the star sign linked with the sea.

The documentary was beautiful and, if you’ve seen any of David Attenborough’s nature documentaries, you’ll know they are a visual treat and a cinematic extravaganza. Ocean in particular takes us into a wonderful world of fantasy and biodiversity which lies below the surface of the ocean. It’s mesmerising, captivating and completely beautiful – a Neptunian experience.

Yet, Saturn warns of the dangers of not protecting or taking care of our oceans. Bottom trawling, plastics and illegal fishing have done countless damage to the coral reefs and the rich biome that lies below the sea and provides the earth with oxygen.

World Ocean Day

This was addressed on World Ocean Day which took place on June 8. This year, it aligned with the UN Ocean conference (June 9 to 13) in Nice, France when many countries came together to make a pledge to protect our seas. 60 countries have either signed or agreed to sign by the end of the year and the goal is to protect 30% of our oceans.

Currently, a tiny amount of our oceans are protected as you’ll discover if you watch Ocean. What was so heartening about the documentary is they’ve discovered that if you protect an area of the sea, it recovers quickly and within 5 years, it can be returned to its former glory.

Considering we’re going to have Neptune, God of the sea, in speedy Aries not only for the next 5 years but the next 12 years, this is good news indeed.

And, when Saturn’s working at its best alongside Neptune, Saturn represents rules and regulations and more countries are agreeing to a High Seas treaty. When Saturn and Neptune are working well together, they can turn those Neptunian dreams into reality, Saturn’s realm.

David Attenborough

We talked about David Attenborough on a recent podcast episode which went live on his birthday, May 8th. You can listen in here: Why Is David Attenborough A National Treasure?

Not surprisingly, Attenborough is a Sun Taurus, the earth sign most closely linked to nature. In his chart, he has a powerful fixed Grand Cross involving the two key players this year, Saturn and Neptune, plus the other ruler of Pisces, Jupiter. All three planets were active when the new documentary went global and coincided with the UN Ocean conference.

Jupiter is the planet which represents hope and faith and a Grand Cross is often linked with your mission in life, your ‘cross’ to bear. To have lived almost 100 years and be so actively engaged in the war against climate change, Attenborough must have experienced the whole gamut of emotions around human beings and how we both damage and protect the earth we live on.

If you’ve not already watched the documentary Ocean, I can highly recommend it and the final message gives a glimmer of hope. There’s a lot that’s discussed in the world about the rainforests and our need to protect them. Yet, the oceans are equally vital for our survival.

Here’s hoping that Neptune’s move through Aries will not only speed things up but make protection of the oceans a top priority.

“My lifetime has coincided with the great age of ocean discovery. Over the last hundred years, scientists and explorers have revealed remarkable new species, epic migrations and dazzling, complex ecosystems beyond anything I could have imagined as a young man. In this film, we share some of those wonderful discoveries, uncover why our ocean is in such poor health, and, perhaps most importantly, show how it can be restored to health.  This could be the moment of change. Nearly every country on Earth has just agreed, on paper, to achieve this bare minimum and protect a third of the ocean. Together, we now face the challenge of making it happen.” David Attenborough
