LIBRA (23 September-23 October)

Once Mercury turns retrograde in Capricorn and your home and family sector on December 19th, you’re caught up with Christmas festivities or you’re off on a trip back into the past.

Two days later on December 21st, the Sun joins Mercury in retreat in this same sector of your chart so for some reason, home, family and the past are more powerful for you this year.

You might be in the middle of a move and filling boxes to store away. You could be catching up with long-lost relatives or have a sudden urge to draw up your family tree.

You may be reminiscing with loved ones and mourning times past. Certainly it seems as if your memories could be special this year, a return to a romantic idyll in your life. The New Moon in Capricorn on December 29th symbolises an extra special get-together.

Know too however that with Mercury on go slow, you need to be flexible with the Christmas arrangements. There might be travel hiccups or family members who come down with the flu, for example.

This is also a time of misunderstandings so don’t get too het up if you’re not happy with some of the conversations you have over the festive fortnight. It’s best to let things be until Mercury turns direct on January 8th 2017.

On the same day as Mercury starts to move backward through the zodiac, December 19th, action planet Mars enters Pisces and your work and health sector. So you may be the one who’s working the Christmas shift this year or perhaps you’re keen to volunteer and serve your community.

Mars is your partner planet so for some this means your other half is busy with other plans, perhaps working between Christmas and New Year or caught up with everyday matters.

One thing’s for sure, on Christmas Day itself, you’re the centre of attention because it’s your planet Venus that’s involved in the main astrology. Wherever you are, whatever you’re doing, make the most of it as a positive attitude will work wonders.

Yet big changes are underfoot over this festive fortnight and anything goes. This is because of a dynamic opposition between Jupiter in your sign of Libra and Uranus in Aries and your relationship sector.

For some, it might be your other half who behaves unpredictably and as Jupiter rules freedom, there will be some relationships which split up over the Christmas break.

Yet this doesn’t have to be the case and you could find that your other half or someone close is in the mood to make this Christmas one to remember, in a good way.

There’s a community feel to your astrology too and surprises extend out to a sibling, cousin or neighbour. If you’re looking for love, you could find it quite unexpectedly.

It’s an ‘anything goes’ scenario so be willing to try and do things differently this year and know that you can’t control someone else and don’t allow anyone to tell you what to do either. There are no rules this Christmas and that can go either way.
