Jupiter Square Saturn & Neptune: Cosmic Crossroads

Jupiter Cancer Square Saturn Aries – June 15

Jupiter Cancer Square Neptune Aries – June 19

Jupiter Enters Cancer

On June 9th, big planet Jupiter moved into water sign Cancer where it will remain until June 30, 2026.  If you want to read the themes of Jupiter’s move through Cancer, you can read my article here: Jupiter Enters Cancer, The Great Protector.

Yet, before Jupiter can start surfing some big waves in water sign Cancer, it immediately runs into trouble in the shape of Saturn & Neptune in Aries. These two big square aspects take place a few days after one another and already in evidence in the world.

As mentioned in the Jupiter article, Cancer rules homes and is one of the star signs linked to food and nourishment. Saturn can be the hard hand of the law, an authority figure saying no. Immediately, there are two clear examples of how this is playing out in the world.

Firstly, the issue of getting food and humanitarian aid to Gaza was highlighted via the celebrity ship, the Madleen, with Greta Thunberg and fellow activists on board. They were stopped in international waters and Thunberg was sent back on a flight to France.

Secondly, the protests in LA around ICE and its immigration raids have now escalated to a full-on conflict as the National Guard and Marines have been called in. The protests around America are only going to grow louder as Trump’s presidency is showing more and more signs of authoritarianism and brutality.

Saturn/Neptune Conjunction

Both Saturn & Neptune are beginning new journeys through Aries, the first star sign. Neptune moved into Aries on March 30 followed by Saturn’s move into Aries on May 25.

The last time Neptune moved into Aries in 1861, it coincided with the start of the American Civil War. Aries is ruled by God of war Mars and Saturn in Aries can indicate a clash between the authorities (Saturn) and the individual (Aries).

These two major planets will make their epic conjunction at 0° Aries on February 20, 2026 but, as they’re side by side throughout June, July & August 2025, seeds are already being planted about what this means for society and the world.

Looking back to the last Saturn-Neptune conjunction in 1989, this coincided with the fall of the Berlin Wall which led to the end of the Cold War. When Saturn and Neptune are working together, they are often about socialist ideals and new political ideologies emerging. There can be a deep commitment to morality and a strong social conscience.

Jupiter Squares

The current square aspects between Jupiter & Saturn and Jupiter & Neptune will be especially important for you if you have planets/angles in early degrees of the cardinal star signs, Aries, Cancer, Libra & Capricorn. Look at where they fall in your horoscope to find out more.

Here are some of the themes that are likely to play out:

Jupiter 1° Cancer Square Saturn 1° Aries – June 15

Jupiter and Saturn were square to one another on August 19 & December 24, 2024, although in different star signs, Gemini & Pisces. This is their third and final clash, Jupiter in Cancer and Saturn in Aries.

To understand what this means on a personal level, it can help to think what these two planets represent and how they differentiate from each other.

In astrology, Jupiter is known as the greater benefic and is the planet of expansion. Jupiter is linked to joy – the term jovial derives from Jove, another name for Jupiter – and brings good fortune, opportunity and growth.

In astrology, Saturn is known as the greater malefic and is the planet of limitation. If Jupiter is Yes, then Saturn is No. From Saturn comes the word saturnine, meaning a gloomy disposition. Saturn is the planet of realism, boundaries and hard work.

These two planets are opposite in nature and this can show as a battle between faith (Jupiter) and fear (Saturn). Square aspects indicate a conflict and the challenge is to blend the opposing principles in a positive way.

For example, Jupiter can learn from Saturn’s discipline and ‘get real’ mentality and Saturn can learn from Jupiter’s desire to take risks and think big. When they work together, this is the optimistic realist, the practical visionary.

Yet, wherever this square falls in your horoscope, you’re being tested. Will you rise to the challenge and work hard to fight back against discrimination or injustice as you may come up against conflicting opinions or beliefs to your own when these two planets clash?

Perhaps, things won’t work out the way you want or expect them to. Yet, it’s how you respond that will determine how you move forward, whether you give up or succeed. When Jupiter and Saturn clash, do your best to keep the faith and hold fear at bay.

Jupiter 2° Cancer Square Neptune 2° Aries – June 19

Jupiter is God of the Sky and represents expansion, opportunity and foreign connections. Neptune is God of the Sea, a cosmic, illusory and dreamlike planet.

Together, these two planets conjure up ideals and opportunity, dreams and vision, hope and faith. Jupiter and Neptune want to inspire you to go further and see beyond what’s possible. Surrender, sacrifice and charitable gestures are Jupiter-Neptune themes.

This is not about the ego. Instead, it’s about something that connects you beyond your everyday experience, a deeper reason or purpose to pursue a new way of living or being.

At its best, you may have a vision to go beyond what’s possible. Or you have a huge capacity to care for others and that includes everyone, whatever their creed, race or background.

This could connect you to a spiritual or divine experience. You may have a strong religious or mystical yearning. At the very least, you may want to stretch your comfort zone and experience more of what life has to offer.

Perhaps, you want to see the world or save the world. Jupiter and Neptune working together combine travel with dreams, hope with faith.

Yet, there is a flip side to the square aspect because this combination can be overblown, out of control, unrealistic and away with the fairies. You may need an anchor to hold you firm, especially if there are areas of your life that you can’t control or where you feel things are dissolving.

As Neptune rules the dream world, expect your dreams to be especially weird and wonderful.

Manifesting Dreams

It’s notable that these two Jupiter aspects fall close together in the year. On its own, the Jupiter-Neptune connection can take you on a magical mystery tour but one that’s not grounded in reality. This is where Saturn could help.

Ultimately, this is about manifesting your dreams and bringing your hopes and vision down to earth. Get practical with your ideas. Hear what’s calling you and plan accordingly.

Saturn/Neptune Guidance

Wherever Saturn & Neptune are side-by-side in your horoscope, this is where you may be seeding something new. However, another theme is holding things at bay or keeping other people away. Aries is an individual star sign, independent, a lone wolf.

Yet, the discipline of the spiritual path is emphasised when Saturn and Neptune are working together. There can be a turning away from materialism and a calling to a life of spirit.

Wherever Aries falls in your horoscope, there may be a theme of sacrifice or surrender. You might experimenting with a new path in life or decide to devote your life to your beliefs or ideals.

At its best, use Saturn and Neptune together to preserve the arts or to pursue a creative, compassionate or charitable vocation. As they fall in Aries, this about taking action too and standing up for your beliefs.

Be wary of falling into fear or doubt as there is a negative emphasis to this combination. Saturn and Neptune together can be a symbol of guilt or shame.

Don’t let addictions spiral out of control and put your faith in healing and miracles. Practise self-forgiveness and remember that finding peace and contentment is an inner process.

  1. Thank you, Sally for your astrological insights above. I did a small reading with you once back in +- 2014 and often think about what you wrote and regularly refer to you (the shocking ZAR – Pound exchange rate put paid to further readings though).

This missive is really just to say ‘Thank You’ for spreading your knowledge.

    Kind regards
    Sanchia
