Taurus Full Moon
This week, there’s a Full Moon on October 26. Traditionally, the Taurus Full Moon is about security, both financial and emotional. This is because the earth sign Taurus is linked to the cycles of nature.
There’s a constancy to nature and the earth sustains, feeds and comforts us. Daily routines, walking in nature, food and treats, sensual pleasures – these are all connected to Taurus’ earthy delights. Taurus is ruled by Venus, lover of indulgence.
The Full Moon brings the Moon’s cycle to completion when the light of the Moon is at its fullest. This can bring clarity, a chance to settle, consolidate and make decisions.
The Moon is dependable and steady in Taurus and rules with a stable hand. Tap into your natural intuition, your witchiness and consider where in life you’re ready to release and let go.
Sun & Moon Square Pluto
However, this Full Moon falls at the end of a weekend with some intense astrology with Scorpio and Pluto themes.
Scorpio is one of the money star signs but also rules all things hidden and taboo. Scorpio’s co-ruler Pluto was Hades, God of the Underworld and this flags up themes of death and rebirth, corruption, secrets and underhand goings-on.
During this Full Moon, both the Sun and Moon are square to Pluto in Aquarius on the same day, October 26. This is powerful astrology and, as the Full Moon promises completion and Pluto represents endings, something definitive could happen or come to a close on or around this date. You might be issuing an ultimatum.
Plus, a Full Moon is an ideal time to consider what you’re releasing and letting go of, while Pluto is the planet of detoxing, decluttering, also destroying. Put all of this together and it’s not a normal Full Moon in Taurus. There’s something bigger going on.
Pluto Power
Pluto is now in air sign Aquarius and an important symbol of this is power to the people. Pluto has been unusually active since Pluto turned direct on October 16 after five months retrograde. Revolution and anarchy were unleashed, especially in France but in other places around the world.
The Leo/Aquarius axis of the zodiac represents the leaders (Leo) versus the people (Aquarius). It’s unusually active this year because we’re in a Leo/Aquarius eclipse cycle, big planet Jupiter is in Leo and power planet Pluto is in Aquarius.
These themes are prevalent within society and are being amplified this year and next. Jupiter’s reign in Leo lasts from July 2026 to July 2027. And, the Leo/Aquarius eclipses continue until January 2028.
Pluto is going to be in Aquarius for a long time, almost 20 years but it’s extremely active in the second half of this month and leading into Scorpio season.
Scorpio Season
This Full Moon falls close to the end of October when the veil between worlds is said to be at its thinnest. Halloween, Samhain and Day of the Dead are celebrated as October gives way to November.
The focus on the star sign Scorpio is unusually intense at the end of this year. Communication planet Mercury is now retrograde in Scorpio and remains in Pluto’s star sign Scorpio from September 30 to December 6.
The planet of love and money Venus entered Scorpio on September 10 and turned retrograde here on October 3. Venus moves back into Libra this weekend bringing some lightness and hopefully some peace and calm. However, Venus will return to Scorpio from December 4, 2026 to January 7, 2027.
It’s an extended Scorpio season and having two planets retrograde in Scorpio is plugging us in deeply to this spooky time of year. So tune in and listen up, whether you’re receiving messages from beyond the grave or you’re experiencing more signs and synchronicities than usual. Pay attention to what’s happening on a deeper level.
And, use the light of the Full Moon to balance head and heart and tune into your intuition. It’s always a powerful time to do so during a Full Moon phase and even more so while Pluto, God of the Underworld, is a key player.
Pluto’s Realm
In astrology, Pluto represents loss and transformation but is also a symbol of hidden riches. The depths of the earth reveal treasures, jewels, diamonds, oil, all highly treasured, sometimes incredibly valuable, even priceless.
On a personal level, through sorrow and suffering, loss and struggle and experiencing the shadow side of life, you often experience profound shifts and transformation in life. Death and loss can be a time when you’re feeling difficult emotions but can also be a path through to illumination, insight and even joy.
I have experienced the deaths of three of my immediate family in my life, my father, my mother and my brother, and I know the depths of grief and how painful losing someone close can be.
Yet, they were also times in my life when I experienced love intensely and laughed deeply and hugged tightly and felt profoundly blessed to remember, alongside others, those three dear people whose lives had touched and transformed ours.
Scorpio is the star sign of regeneration connected inextricably to the cycles of nature, growth, full bloom and decay and the human cycle of birth, life and death. The start of this Scorpio season is a full-on dive into Pluto’s domain. Will you find hidden riches there during this weekend’s Full Moon? I hope so.
