Full Moon – Shine Brightly
This month’s Full Moon falls on July 29 and Full Moons have always been a time of celebration. Emotions are heightened, life becomes more dramatic and Full Moon energy kicks in.
It’s an ideal time to channel your inner werewolf and be your true unique self. Find your tribe during the Full Moon and let it all go. This is the peak of the Moon cycle preparing for the waning phase when you can release emotions that no longer serve you. Let it all hang out.
Plus, this Full Moon cuts across attention-seeking Leo and social warrior Aquarius. Therefore, it’s an ideal Full Moon for a party or a protest march.
Full Moon Tip: Avoid arguments or family dramas and be around people who get who you are.
Leo/Aquarius Axis
When you’re considering a Full Moon, it’s important to note the star signs involved. This month, the Sun will be in Leo and the Moon in Aquarius, star signs which oppose one another across the zodiac.
The Sun shines brightly in Leo and the essence of Leo is to be at the heart of proceedings, the centre of attention. The big cat of the zodiac thrives when it receives plenty of stroking, accolade and admiration.
Leo is a creative star sign, so this is about your identity, your unique skills and talents, what makes you ‘you’. It’s an ideal Full Moon to be a star!
The opposite side of the zodiac Aquarius represents the collective rather than the individual. The Sun finds it harder to shine brightly in Aquarius because it has to share the limelight. This isn’t about self-interest. Aquarius represents what’s best for everyone, common goals, a shared mission or purpose.
You may experience issues around fitting in or being an outsider during this Full Moon. Where do you belong, who can you team up with to achieve mutual goals?
Do you find your light is dimmed if you compare yourself unfavourably to others, if other people don’t get who you are, if your contribution goes unwanted? Are you on the outside looking in?
Alternatively, are you ready to shine brightly, share your natural talents with the world and make a difference?
As with all planetary oppositions, you can either focus on what divides you or work alongside other people to create unity out of polarity. These themes are already resonant within our society but there may be significant ways how they’re playing out for you personally.
Sun/Jupiter Leo
There’s another reason why this Full Moon phase is glorious for showing off and being a star. This is because the Sun sits next to the biggest planet in the universe and the best planet in astrology Jupiter.
Expansive Jupiter moved into Leo on June 30 where it will remain until July 2027. And, the Sun-Jupiter conjunction is said to be one of the luckiest days of the year.
This is because Jupiter expands what it touches and the Sun represents your essence, your identity, your purpose. The Sun lights up Jupiter’s hope and faith while Jupiter expands the Sun’s light and warmth.
It’s a joyful combination which inclines towards optimism and confidence, especially in fire sign Leo. It’s a gorgeous symbol for having faith in yourself, trusting deeply in life and letting your light shine.
Together, the Sun and Jupiter promise luck and good fortune. It’s a generous and big-hearted combination. Therefore, this would be the ideal day to be courageous, say yes to life, take a risk and embrace life fully.
Anything that starts under a Jupiter transit is said to promise success. The Sun-Jupiter conjunction feels especially lucky this week. If you have planets between 5° to 7° Leo, you’re in the zone.
Remember that you make the most of Jupiter’s bounty when you engage actively with life and put yourself in the way of opportunity.
This is following on from Jupiter’s major role in the Big Pattern on July 20/21. Perhaps, events then are continuing to ripple in your life. Consider where you’re being called to step up your game, take centre stage or put on a show.
Moon/Pluto Aquarius
There is, of course, the small matter of Pluto in Aquarius being opposite Jupiter in Leo – the major once-in-a-thirteen year opposition was exact on July 20. And, the Sun in Leo is making the same planetary aspects that Jupiter made on July 20/21. What does this mean?
Well, as in life, it suggests that some people will win big while others will lose. It’s like a real-life version of Snakes & Ladders – one person moves up the ladder, while another person moves down the snake.
At least, the Full Moon energy should shine a light on your situation and Full Moons are a time of culmination. The Sun-Pluto opposition was exact on July 27. Therefore, this Full Moon may also be the culmination of events which took place then.
Venus Square Mars
There is one other planetary aspect taking place on the same day as the Full Moon and the Sun/Jupiter conjunction, July 29, a clash between Venus in Virgo and Mars in Gemini.
Venus is yin and Mars is yang and the two are different in nature. Notice who you enjoy being around and who you want to move away from.
Which archetype do you favour within yourself? This combination is a classic ‘battle of the sexes’ – not the best time for personal relationships. Try not to fall out with someone. That doesn’t mean put up with things either. Be clear about what behaviour’s ok and what’s not.
The last Venus square clash took place close to the New Moon on July 13. This is the second Venus clash this month on the same day as the Full Moon.
It’s unusual astrology especially as there’s such positive astrology on the same day but it’s worth noting. Sometimes, things can be going well in one area of life but not across the board. Perhaps, this is what the Venus-Mars clash is about? Alternatively, good news for one person doesn’t always spell good news for another person.
Don’t let the more challenging astrology stop you making the most of the wonderful Sun/Jupiter/Full Moon astrology.
