A Super Solstice: Cancer Season
The Sun’s move into Cancer on June 21 heralds the Solstice and the start of a three month season. It’s super powerful this year as big planet Jupiter joins the Sun & Moon in Cancer, the star sign of home & family, tribe & country, food & nourishment.
Not surprisingly, there’s a lot going on this month and plenty to get excited about. The New Moon on June 25th looks glorious as expansive Jupiter moves away from the blocks and disappointments of the Saturn/Neptune squares.
We talk about talk planet Mercury’s move into Leo on June 26th which extends to September 2nd. This is because we’re heading into another Mercury retrograde phase from July 18th to August 11th. Wherever Leo falls in your horoscope, there’s a lot going on and you’re wise to pursue things fast as soon as the June New Moon energy kicks in.
Fast-forward to July 7th and there’s another epic shift of a major planet, this time Uranus. The innovator and change merchant moves into Mercury’s star sign Gemini bringing new ideas, some bonkers, some brilliant. It’s the start of a 7 year era when transport and communication will be moving at warp speed.
The Full Moon on July 10th brings some much-needed grounding energy, an ideal date to honour the Moon and take part in Full Moon rituals.
Let’s not forget that the Solstice is a time to honour the Sun by lighting fires or candles. I’m heading off to West Hill where many people will be taking part in a celebration of 108 yoga Sun Salutations at sunrise. I’m not sure I’ll be doing so many but it will be a wonderful way to welcome in the new season.
