Sun/Venus Retrograde Cazimi Conjunction

Sun conjunct Venus retrograde 0° Scorpio

October 24, 2026 (04:44 GMT)

October 24 is the mid-way point for the Venus retrograde phase as she continues her reverse motion through the zodiac. 21 days ago on October 3, Venus turned retrograde and, in 21 days time, on November 14, Venus turns direct.

The mid-way point is significant because this is the day that the Sun and Venus are at the exact same point in the zodiac. This time around they are at 0° Scorpio. This conjunction of the Sun and Venus retrograde is a symbolic turning point.

Sun/Venus Retrograde Cazimi Conjunction

The Sun/Venus retrograde conjunction is an inferior conjunction and it signifies that Venus is shifting from an evening star to a morning star.

Moving forward, you won’t be able to see Venus after dusk but will need to wake before dawn. Venus spends 9 months as an evening star and 9 months as a morning star. The last Venus retrograde phase was March 2 to April 13, 2025.

Venus becomes invisible as she merges with the Sun and the symbolism suggests her descent into the underworld as she continues her retrograde motion. She disappears from sight to re-emerge reborn.

This time around, Venus turned retrograde in Scorpio, the star sign linked to the underworld. The myth of Persephone has many similarities with Venus’ journey back through Scorpio.

This conjunction of the Sun and Venus retrograde on October 24 is a symbolic union and there’s magic within it. It symbolises intimacy, connection, a moment of desire. Use it to draw closer to someone or something you love.

This is called cazimi in astrology when a planet is illuminated by the rays of the Sun. The exact time of the Sun-Venus cazimi moment is 04:44 GMT – the early hours of October 24 in the UK – and Venus will have her audience with the Sun for a few hours either side.

The first half of Venus’ retrograde is more introspective and sometimes harder. You’re turning inwards or dealing with the shadow side of life.

When the Sun sits next to Venus retrograde in the zodiac, this is considered a rebirth moment. The planet which rules women Venus is re-gathering her strength. It’s a potent meeting at 0° Scorpio.

On the following day, October 25, Venus will move back into Libra, her star sign of rulership where she will turn direct in three weeks time. You may learn more about your relationship with love, money, beauty or creativity over the next few weeks, Venus’ themes.

Venus, The Harmoniser

The pattern that Venus makes in relation to the Sun and Earth is beautiful. There’s a perfect flow and symmetry and the resulting movement of Venus in relation to the earth resembles a 5 petalled-flower. Ancient peoples called Venus the harmoniser.

Venus is the planet of beauty as well as love. When either is in flow, you often experience a sense of awe or wonder. This is cosmic harmony, in tune with the universe, the perfect note, a flawless sequence.

Venus’ cycle is a feature of this cosmic order as the 8 year pattern repeats almost exactly. This year’s Venus retrograde phase repeated at the same time of year in 2018, 2010, 2002, 1994 and so on.

What’s extra powerful about this Sun/Venus retrograde cazimi conjunction is it’s the last one that’s going to fall in Scorpio. In eight years time, it will fall at late degrees Libra.

This could be significant. Scorpio rules sex, desire and taboo issues, all things hidden. While Libra rules marriage, contracts, equality and balance.

Use this week’s Sun/Venus cazimi conjunction to seek illumination and enlightenment and make the right connections. Venus is now beginning her journey out of the underworld and will grow stronger day-by-day.

Venus – Evening Star or Morning Star?

If you were born with Venus ahead of the Sun, i.e. Sun Libra, Venus Scorpio she’s an evening star. If you were born with Venus behind the Sun i.e. Sun Scorpio, Venus Libra she’s a morning star. If you were born with the Sun conjunct Venus, she’s a dark/invisible star in your birth chart and full of potential.

Venus is never that far away from the Sun in the zodiac but it’s the conjunction between the two which is most powerful. Listen out for insights, signs and synchronicities this weekend. The light of the Sun represents illumination and enlightenment. This is pure consciousness.

Venus represents love, money, art and beauty. It’s here where you may be reconsidering or reviewing your values, what you want, what you deserve, what you’re willing to change.

When the Sun and Venus retrograde unite in deep water sign Scorpio, this is a passionate and powerful union. Look deep within yourself and channel the divine feminine or empowered female in your soul.

Venus Square Pluto

This Venus retrograde phase is more potent than usual because Venus in Scorpio is square to Pluto in Aquarius, who rules the underworld. This powerful God destroys and purges, yet his hidden domain contains secrets and riches.

Venus and Pluto have made two square aspects already on September 15 & October 20. They will meet once again on December 9.

Therefore, Venus will need all her warrior energy to emerge stronger and more powerful. At this significant turning point, consider who you can learn from or who’s got your back. Where does strength lie? Are you the one who’s being called to be empowered and step up? Or is there someone, a leader or authority figure, who you can align yourself with?

Here’s a quick guide to the areas of your life that are highlighted during the Sun/Venus conjunction and Venus’ journey into the underworld.

  • Sagittarius – introspection, retreat, secrets
