Your horoscopes for July are here.
July’s astrology is arguably the peak astrology of the year and will require some careful navigation moving forward.
Here’s what’s coming up this month:
The Big Pattern – July 15 to July 25
This July, the three modern planets are starting to work together as a team. And, this is happening in their new star signs.
This activity peaks between July 15 to July 25 when Uranus in Gemini, Neptune in Aries and Pluto in Aquarius are creating a Minor Grand Trine aspect. I like to call it the Big Pattern.
There’s been much talk within astrological circles about the significance of this alignment, some astrologers hyping it up hugely, others downplaying what it may bring. There’s been talk that this is the end of the old order and the beginning of the new era.
What’s important to remember, however, with the slower-moving modern planets is that things don’t necessarily happen overnight. This is a transitional phase and, when you look at back at times in history, it can take years for a new era or age to be formed.
Jupiter In Leo Joins the Party – July 20/21
The Big Pattern really takes off when expansive Jupiter joins the party. The key dates are July 20/21. Most importantly, Jupiter and Pluto, two planets with big reputations, will oppose one another in the zodiac on July 20, Jupiter at 4° Leo and Pluto at 4° Aquarius.
Will the people (Aquarius) take on the rulers (Leo) during this period in the year demanding less corruption and wealth inequality? Will the elite (Leo) try to dominate the masses through technology (Aquarius)? Who will win and who will fail?
Neptune at 4° Aries and Uranus at 4° Gemini are both supporting Jupiter and Pluto during their opposition. This is creating a ‘cradle’ pattern which suggests support or a sense of ‘being held’.
What happens mid-July could be the start of a major shift in the world moving towards a fairer society. Let’s see what unfolds as we find out more about what the Big Pattern will mean in reality.
On a personal level, this planetary combination has power and strength within it. Whatever your personal desires, passions or ambitions, you may find the support you need to make great strides. Leo is a creative star sign so consider what you might be ‘giving birth to’ and where your allies lie.
There is a potential theme of ‘now or never’ to this build-up of major planetary activity. The ‘cradle’ pattern falls just two days before communication planet Mercury turns direct on July 23.
Therefore, it’s an ideal time to push things through, take a risk, be bold and courageous. Be inspired and inspire others and embrace the spirit of the Lion, Leo’s zodiac symbol.
Mercury Turns Direct – July 23
Communication planet Mercury turned retrograde on June 29 and is on go slow for the first three weeks of July. Mercury is back up to speed on July 23.
It’s been a nostalgic and sentimental Mercury retrograde phase with the planet of communication diving deep into the home and family star sign Cancer. Here are some Mercury turning direct top tips:
- try again – second chances are a classic Mercury direct theme
- sort out any misunderstandings
- consider what Mercury retrograde taught you, i.e. where have you been wasting your time?
- initiate a conversation
- do what you say you will, recommit to a promise
- handle any technological or transport issues
- grab someone’s attention
- plug back in, renew your energy and focus
Sun enters Leo – July 22
The Sun’s sign of rulership is Leo and, on July 22, the Sun makes its annual visit to Leo. This is where the Sun can shine brightly, perform, take centre stage. It’s an ideal time to be creative, show off and be a fully glorious version of yourself.
Plus, the Sun is joining the biggest and best planet Jupiter in Leo. Jupiter has a reputation for luck and good fortune. And, this month brings the annual Sun/Jupiter conjunction on July 29 which is often touted as one of the luckiest days of the year.
If it’s your birthday towards the end of July, celebrate by doing something special. If it’s not your birthday, do something special anyway.
The Sun-Jupiter conjunction favours visionary plans, big goals, a search for meaning, and a connection with the divine. Look out for new opportunities coming your way, and notice when and where you can say yes to life.
This is about making the best out of any situation, looking on the bright side and spreading optimism.
Moon’s Nodes Change Star Sign – July 27
The Lunar Nodes are the points where the Moon’s path crosses the ecliptic, the Sun’s path in the sky. Karmic points in astrology, the Nodes are also called the Dragon’s Head and Tail.
On July 27, the Lunar Nodes move into their new stars signs, Aquarius & Leo, where they will remain until March 2028. Wherever the nodes fall in your horoscope, this is often a key area of change or accelerated growth.
Next month, August 2026, is eclipse month when you may get more of a sense of what this will mean for you.
Moon’s Phases
The lunations are exciting in July, so make the most of them. Here’s why the New Moon & Full Moon are going to be extra special:
New Moon Cancer – July 14
A New Moon is a symbol of new beginnings. Traditionally, a New Moon is the time to launch a project, begin something new and start over.
This is the beginning of the waxing phase of the Moon cycle, an ideal time to set your intentions for the month ahead. Make a wish when you first catch sight of the crescent Moon, a couple of days after the New Moon date.
The New Moon on July 14 falls in water sign Cancer, the star sign linked to home and family, a caring and nurturing influence.
Plus, during the New Moon phase, there’s a Sun/Mercury retrograde cazimi conjunction, exact on July 13.
This is the mid-way point in the Mercury retrograde phase and can be a time of insight or illumination. Listen out for something hidden coming to light or line up an important conversation with someone in a position of influence.
Full Moon Aquarius – July 29
During the Full Moon on July 29, the light of the moon is at its peak, shining a light on your situation. Traditionally, a Full Moon is the time to trust your intuition, make important decisions and bring matters to completion or culmination.
This is the start of the waning phase of the Moon cycle, an ideal time to release and let go of what’s no longer needed in your life. At this Full Moon, the Sun is in Leo and the Moon is in Aquarius.
This is mirroring the major theme of the Big Pattern on July 20/21. Plus, more importantly, July 29 is the day of the annual Sun/Jupiter conjunction in Leo, one of the best dates of the year.
If you have planets/angles close to 6° Leo, this is your opportunity to shine brightly.
