Top Tips Astrology February 2026

February 2026 Astrology

Your horoscopes for February are here.

Here in the northern hemisphere, February is predictably a grey month but there are always plenty of big events linked to celebration taking place to cheer us up. This year, they’re all bunched into the middle of the month.

Firstly, for the romantics, Valentine’s Day falls on February 14 and many countries celebrate Carnival, the festivities before Lent. This year, the main carnival events are on the weekend of February 14/15 and leading into February 16. Shrove Tuesday is February 17 and Lent begins on February 18.

Plus, Chinese New Year gets underway during the New Moon on February 17 and this is the Year of the Horse. Last year was the Year of the Snake and, in numerology, 2025 was a no. 9 year bringing a theme of endings. Snakes shed skins ready to start over whereas the Year of the Horse is fierce and dynamic in alignment with the astrology of 2026. Its theme is bold new beginnings.

February is a month of big astrology and it’s important to time your actions well so you’re in flow with the universe.

Here’s what’s coming up:

Saturn Enters Aries – February 14

The planet of authority and responsibility Saturn changes star sign approximately every two years. This month, Saturn leaves the last star sign Pisces and moves into the first star sign Aries on February 14 where it will remain until April 2028. Saturn’s already been in Aries from May 25 to September 1, 2025

Saturn in Aries is an uncomfortable combination as Aries is a fire sign that likes to be impulsive, radical and independent. Whereas, Saturn represents rules and laws. Saturn is a slow and steady influence and favours patience over spontaneous impulses.

You might want to rise up against the system when Saturn’s in Aries. Yet, doing your own thing (Aries) could get you into trouble with the authorities (Saturn). At its best, this combination is strident, a blazing fury and headstrong. Be wary of starting something new, however, and running out of steam.

Solar Eclipse Aquarius – February 17

The New Moon on February 17 is an annular Solar Eclipse, also known as a ‘ring of fire’ eclipse. This is the first eclipse of 2026 and will only be visible in Antartica and some parts of South Africa and South America.

Most importantly, this is the start of a new eclipse cycle which will cuts across the star signs Leo and Aquarius and will continue until January 2028

Plus, most of the eclipses in this cycle are Solar, i.e. turbo-powered New Moons. There’s a theme of new beginnings when the pace of life speeds up and is intensified. As eclipses coincide with accelerated growth, this could be a significant couple of years of change.

This is potentially an exciting eclipse because the Sun and Moon in Aquarius are square to Uranus, Aquarius’ co-ruler. Uranus is the planet of spontaneity and active this month as it turns direct on February 4. Think flashes of inspiration, revelatory insights and genius moves.

Yet, both eclipses and Uranus often coincide with external events as life steps in to bring the unexpected. If you’re waiting for a breakthrough, listen carefully to what life’s telling you and see where new opportunities emerge. Wait for the eclipse energy to settle before moving forward.

Sometimes, eclipses act as a catalyst for change but you don’t recognise this until later on. Their effect can last a few months after the exact date of the eclipse, even up until the next set of eclipses, which will occur in August 2026.

In ancient times, an eclipse was an omen, a sign that there would be a rise or fall of leadership. On a personal note, it’s important to remember that there are winners and losers during eclipse season.

Saturn/Neptune Conjunction 0° Aries – February 20

This month sees an epic conjunction between the planets Saturn and Neptune on February 20 as they meet at 0° Aries and the very start of the zodiac. The two planets have been side-by-side for most of 2025 and have been going back and forth between the last star sign Pisces and the first star sign Aries.

The last time these two planets came together was 1989 and a clear symbol of this was the Berlin Wall coming down. Back in 1989, Saturn was in earth sign Capricorn, the planet of authority and strong foundations. Neptune dissolves what it touches and the wall came down.

This time around, they meet in fire sign Aries at the start of the zodiac, a critical degree. This is powerful astrology especially on a collective level. Sometimes, new religions or ideologies emerge when Saturn and Neptune are working together.

Saturn represents rules and regulations, the old order. Whereas Neptune can be idealistic and a shape-shifter. Neptune’s associated with the spiritual realm and the ways you connect with the cosmos, the universe or collective unconscious.

I’ll be writing more about this major conjunction on the Blog but, on a personal level, consider where it falls in your horoscope.

2025 and the first four months of this year are a pivotal time of endings and new beginnings. What you were seeding in June, July & August 2025 could now take off.

Mercury Turns Retrograde – February 26

Communication planet Mercury turns retrograde for three weeks at a time, approximately three times a year. This month, Mercury turns retrograde at 22° Pisces on February 26 and will turn direct at 8° Pisces on March 20.

Plus, this will coincide with the next eclipse on March 3, a Lunar Eclipse in Virgo. What does this mean? First of all, there’s a theme of things being hidden and it may be a time of confusion.

The communication planet Mercury retrograde can coincide with travel chaos when plans go wrong and misunderstandings occur. Therefore, you’re wise to be flexible and have plans B, C & D up your sleeve.

The best way to use the Mercury retrograde phase is to rework, review and reassess your situation. Alternatively, go on retreat and take a step back from everyday life.

Eclipses have a similar theme to retrogrades, in that things are often hidden from you and the truth is blurred. It’s a time when you’re wise to keep things close to your chest and not over-share or reveal too much.

Do your research, take a step back and reevaluate what’s important to you. Be patient and wait until March 20 before making a major move or decision.

March 20 is the date of the Equinox when the Sun moves into the first star sign Aries, an ideal time to take the initiative and move things forward in your life.

Moon’s Phases

Full Moon Leo – February 1

During the Full Moon, the light of the moon is at its peak. Traditionally, a Full Moon is the time to trust your intuition, make important decisions and bring matters to completion or culmination.

This is the start of the waning phase of the Moon cycle, an ideal time to release and let go of what’s no longer needed in your life.

The Full Moon on February 1 cuts across the Leo/Aquarius axis of the zodiac. Leo/Aquarius themes are leaders v. the people and sharing your personal gifts and talents with the group.
