Saturn Enters Aries: Hitting The Reset Button

Saturn Enters Aries – May 25, 2025 (04:35 GMT+1)

The 2025 reset button is firmly underway. Communication planet Mercury and the planet ruling love and money Venus led the way moving back and forth out of the last star sign Pisces and the first star sign Aries in the first quarter of this year.

Then, on March 30th, one of the slower-moving outer planets Neptune left Pisces and moved to 0° Aries. Neptune’s God of the sea, a boundless influence.

This week, on May 25th, the planet of authority, responsibility and boundaries Saturn leaves Pisces and moves to 0° Aries. Like Neptune, Saturn will move in and out of Aries. Saturn remains in the first star sign Aries until September 1st. Then, Saturn returns to the last star sign Pisces until February 14, 2026 when Saturn finally takes up residence in Aries until April 2028.

It’s always important when Saturn changes star sign as Saturn is one of two planets which represents leadership. Saturn rules hard work, discipline and effort. It favours slow and steady progress, ambition and long-term goals. The fact that Saturn is starting over in the zodiac is a symbol of reset, reinvention and stepping boldly into a new world.

Saturn In Aries

So how will Saturn in Aries play out? For starters, Saturn in Aries is an uncomfortable planet/sign combination. This is because Aries is a fire sign that likes to be impulsive, radical and independent. Whereas, Saturn represents rules and laws. Saturn’s a slow and steady influence and favours patience over spontaneous impulses.

You might want to rise up against the system when Saturn’s in Aries. Yet, doing your own thing (Aries) could get you into trouble with the authorities (Saturn). Even so, the world is likely to see more individuals taking a stand against the things and people in life where they are being limited, held back or stopped in their tracks.

At its best, Saturn in Aries is strident, a blazing fury and headstrong. Be wary of starting something new, however, and running out of steam. Whatever you begin, ensure you’re in it for the long run.

Aries is ruled by God of war Mars and what this will mean for the wars that are currently raging around our world could be pivotal. Hopefully, Saturn will put a stop to some of the wars, a ceasefire? At its best, Saturn represents wisdom, a down-to-earth leadership of common sense.

Saturn in Aries – 1996

It takes Saturn approximately 29-30 years to circuit the zodiac. The last time Saturn was in Aries was 1996. Look at these Aries-related facts: the most popular film was Independence Day, Braveheart won best picture at the Oscars, the action-adventure video game Tomb Raider was launched and ER was the most popular TV show! All strong Aries themes, the star sign of independence, bravery, attack and good in a crisis!

Dolly the sheep was born in 1996 too, the first cloned mammal and yes, she was named after Dolly Parton! Aries is the first star sign, the trailblazer and pioneer of the zodiac. Expect more firsts and inventions with knowledgeable Saturn, the scientist and academic, in the first star sign.

Your Saturn Return

If you were born from April 1996-February 1999, 1967-1969 or April 1937-March 1940, this may be your Saturn Return year (you need to check your horoscope to know for sure).

Your first Saturn Return takes place age 30, your astrological coming of age symbolising maturity and adulthood. It can be a challenging period of self-analysis, a reality check of whether you’re on the right track or not. It’s often a time of endings and commitments when responsibilities kick in, whether marriage, parenting, mortgages or career goals. In astrology, it’s often considered the gateway to adulthood.

Your second Saturn Return takes place age 60, the official age when you become a pensioner (not that you’re likely to receive your pension at 60!) This has a different flavour to the first Saturn Return. Some people are considering the end of a lifetime of work and it’s another important reset point. Health issues can kick in – Saturn rules the bones, joints and teeth. Yet, most importantly, this a period in your life when you can make decisions based on wisdom and experience. In astrology, it’s often considered the gateway to your Indian summer.

Your third Saturn Return takes place age 90. If you’re still active and planning ahead, that’s an achievement in itself. Yeah to everyone who makes it to 90!

Saturn & Neptune In Aries

Saturn and Neptune are going to be working together in 2025 and this is significant. In June, July & August, they are extremely close in early degrees Aries, preparing the way for their epic conjunction on February 20, 2026.

A Saturn-Neptune conjunction takes place approximately once every 36 years. The last time the conjunction took place, it fell in earth sign Capricorn in 1989

One of the most obvious symbols was the fall of the Berlin Wall which had divided West and East Germany for years. Saturn is the planet of boundaries and Neptune dissolves what it touches.

Together, these two planets are often about socialist ideals and new political ideologies emerging. There can be a deep commitment to morality and a strong social conscience.

The discipline of the spiritual path is emphasised. Plus, Saturn can help to turn Neptune’s dreams into reality. There can be a turning away from materialism and a calling to a life of spirit.

Wherever Aries falls in your horoscope, there may be a theme of sacrifice or surrender. You might be on a new spiritual path or decide to devote your life to your beliefs or ideals. You may be committed to a cause that’s dear to your heart.

At its best, use Saturn and Neptune together to preserve the arts or to pursue a creative, compassionate or charitable vocation.

Be wary of falling into fear or doubt as there is a negative emphasis to this combination. Saturn and Neptune together can be a symbol of guilt or shame.

Don’t let addictions spiral out of control and put your faith in healing and miracles. Practise self-forgiveness and remember that finding peace and contentment is an inner process.
