Pluto’s Hidden Riches
It’s not easy talking about death or even using the word ‘death’ in a blog title. I tried out a few different versions in the title to this blog and ended up leaving the word ‘death’ out altogether and focusing on other symbolic language linked to the planet Pluto.
Yet, one of Pluto’s symbols is death as in mythology Pluto was Hades, God of the Underworld. This week, on October 14, Pluto turns direct after being retrograde for the past five months.
Pluto’s change of direction may be intense for you, especially if you have planets/angles at early degrees of the fixed star signs, Taurus, Leo, Scorpio & Aquarius.
Alternatively, there may be insights or hidden nuggets of gold that have been shaped and perfected since May 4, the day Pluto turned retrograde.
Perhaps, there are hidden gifts or insights which you can now bring forth from the dark and use them to guide you and illuminate the path ahead. I hope so.
Scorpio Time
When the slower-moving planets change direction, you often feel the intensity of the planet more strongly. Plus, Pluto rules Scorpio and this is a particularly intense period of Scorpio activity.
Passionate active Mars likes to be in Scorpio where it’s laser-focused, steely and powerful. Mars moved into Scorpio on September 22 and will remain here until November 4.
Plus, talk planet Mercury is moving through Scorpio from October 6 to October 29. Mercury here is a symbol of the detective, sleuth and mystery writer.
Mars and Mercury unite in Scorpio on October 20, an ideal time to step into your power and walk your talk. Then, Scorpio season begins on October 23 with the Sun’s move into the star sign of darkness, power and transformation.
Consider where you’re going in deep and why themes of transformation, rebirth and renewal may be foreground in your life. Dare to venture into unknown territory and dig beneath the surface to find what’s hidden.
Pluto’s Power
Pluto is the planet of extremes, linked to power and control. It can wipe out and raze to the ground. Yet, Pluto is a symbol of the phoenix who rises from the ashes.
Pluto is the first of the modern planets to turn direct and does so in early degrees Aquarius on October 14 – a symbol of power to the people.
It’s important to remember that as a society and, that coming together with one another, we are more powerful. There are leaders in our world who want the power and wealth for themselves and want inequality to keep the people weak and the leaders strong.
As governments and people in power push for us to be divided both in society and in the world, refuse to forget your fellow human beings. Use Pluto’s switch in direction to harness back the power to where it belongs – as one people, one world.
Astrology clearly reveals what’s happening collectively and it’s never been more important to be united as one and recognise the power of the individual to take a stand.
Pluto will be in Aquarius for the next twenty years calling each and every one of us to be accountable for what’s happening within society and within our world.

Please tell me Pluto isn’t coming back to that 1°22 point now – at least not in my lifetime .. that’s directly opposite my natal sun at 1°23 Leo.. I can see exactly how this is playing out but I’m hoping I’m now at the Phoenix phase and not still in the raze zone.. probably too early to tell..
Hi Sarah, Pluto turns direct today at 1 Aquarius 22 and is moving on not to return. It sounds like it’s been quite the time. Hopefully, you’re in the rebuilding stage. Sending best wishes.
