Virgo Season
September could prove confusing as the astrology paints a complex picture. The main areas where you’re wise to take the pace slow are your work and routine, your lifestyle and your health. These areas are ruled by the earth sign Virgo and this is where there’s possible change or distraction.
However, communication planet Mercury joins the Sun in Virgo from the 2nd to the 18th. Therefore, do your best to keep on top of things and favour organisation, systems and list-making.
The 12th & 13th look perfect for getting organised at home or work. It’s a good month to declutter and let go of things. You may be sorting out a family home or teaming up with loved ones to help one another out.
Alternatively, you could experience an issue around faith or religion. You might lose your faith or find it hard to surrender and let go. Being a Sun Aries, you favour action over inaction, doing over being.
Yet, this month, all the outer planets are slowing down and Saturn moves back into the last star sign Pisces on the 1st. This could mean you feel as if you’re going backwards rather than forwards at times.
You might be stepping into the role of carer or have multiple reasons why you need to take the pace of life slow. A key theme is wrapping things up and returning to the past to complete unfinished business. This may take until early next year to complete.
Eclipse Month
The other factors indicating that there could be ups and downs unsettling your routine are this month’s eclipses. The Full Moon Lunar Eclipse takes place on the 7th in Pisces and the New Moon Solar Eclipse takes place on the 21st in Virgo. In your horoscope, the Virgo/Pisces axis of the zodiac is about devotion and duty, ritual and daily habits.
Eclipses are game changers as they bring a new dimension, a fresh perspective and are often linked to dramatic events. They don’t always spell bad news. Therefore, if you’re looking for a job or a change at work, use the eclipse energy to take advantage of a shifting situation. During a Lunar Eclipse, sometimes one person wins and another person loses. Therefore, if play your cards well, you end up on the winning team.
Yet, during an eclipse month you often need to close a door on the past before you can start over. Expect job changes or unexpected events as this is unsettled territory. And regarding your health, keep an open mind. Switch around your routine, try a new diet, explore different remedies. If you’re feeling under the weather, take life gently and hold on to the mantra, ‘one day at a time’.
You might experience periods when you’re in touch with the whole range of your emotions this month, fear, sadness or anxiety, especially close to the eclipse dates. If so, get back to nature and return to the basics. Tapping into your creative or spiritual source will help. If you’re feeling bored or you unmotivated, seek a wider perspective.
Love & Partnership
Love is intriguing this month as Venus is in Leo and your romance sector until the 19th. Plus, your ruling planet Mars is in your opposite star sign Libra until the 22nd. Love and partnership are under the cosmic spotlight and the 16th could prove enlightening when the lovers of the heaven unite.
Talk planet Mercury and the Sun complete the picture as they enter your relationship sector Libra on the 18th & 22nd respectively. Therefore, the cosmic spotlight is firmly on your close relationships, both personal and professional.
You may want to reach out to someone close this month. Or perhaps, you’re the one needing reassurance. The flow of giving and receiving is a wonderful way to make the most of the planets’ journeys through Libra. It’s a month when you can expect lessons in love, especially around compromise and allowing others to take the lead.
Mars Power
Your ruling planet Mars gains power in Scorpio from the 22nd onwards. Scorpio rules joint finances and shared resources in your horoscope and this is an excellent time of year for a financial review.
Sometimes, extra money comes your way via a third party when you have Mars in this sector of your horoscope. Ideally, you want to ensure you’re earning as much as possible and that you minimise your expenses. Be money-conscious and savvy around spending and investment.
Scorpio rules taboo issues in your horoscope, so it’s about sex and power and the cycle of death and rebirth, as well as money. Turn the wheel of fortune and release what’s no longer needed. When key planets are in Scorpio, it’s the ideal time to step into your power and take charge of your life.
The trickiest clash is when Mars runs into your co-ruler Pluto on the 24th. You may need to act ruthlessly on or around this date. Perhaps, it spells the end of the road for a friendship, alliance or group association.

It’s a double whammy of eclipses this month. Here are some eclipse tips:
- Try not to fear an eclipse – they are a reminder that you’re not in control.
- Ideally, don’t choose an eclipse date to launch a project or start something new.
- Wait a few days after an eclipse before taking action. Eclipse symbolism is shadowy and hidden.
- Once the eclipse shadow lifts, then you can aim to take advantage of any changes that have occurred.
- Know that eclipses are closely linked to the karmic nodes and wheel of destiny – they often act as a signpost or turning point.
