If you know anything about astrology, you may already know that March heralds two big astrological events: Saturn entering Pisces on the 7th and Pluto entering Aquarius on the 23rd. I’ve addressed what both these events mean for you in separate sections at the bottom of this month’s horoscope.
Pisces Season
There’s no straightforward linear progression leading up to the Equinox on the 20th when the Sun enters your star sign Aries. At times, therefore, you may feel confused about what next or be playing around with different ideas.
The star sign before yours is Pisces, the last sign in the zodiac. The Sun is here until the 20th and talk planet Mercury is in Pisces from the 2nd to the 19th.
Ideally, this is a time to go with the flow, do what feels right and trust your intuition. It’s a contemplative period in the year for you, when you’re wise to take stock and complete old projects before you begin anything new.
You may come up with a lot of new ideas, especially as your planet Mars is completing its journey through air sign Gemini. Yet, don’t miss out on an important phase or leave a project or plan incomplete.
Your attention is turned inwards when the Sun is in Pisces, ideal for being on a spiritual retreat or spending more time by yourself. There may be a theme of sacrifice or surrender in your life.
This could come to light under the gaze of the Full Moon cutting across the Virgo/Pisces axis of the zodiac on the 7th. This may bring you an opportunity to connect with the divine, seek more beauty in the world or be of service to others.
Continue to feel your way forward throughout March and try not to fall into despair or hopelessness. This may be most evident during the period between the 14th to the 17th and events could leave you wondering what’s going on.
If you’ve been been changing your mind a lot or you’re in information overload, consider what you may need to release or let go of to gain clarity. Try and avoid unnecessary arguments during these few days.
There may be times this month when you’re questioning what you’re doing, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. View this as a process as you start to shed what’s no longer needed in your life.
Mars Moves On
Your ruling planet Mars has been in Gemini, the star sign of communication, for an unusually long time, since August 2022. This is where Mars turned retrograde for the last two months of 2022 and the first half of January 2023. On the 16th of this month, Mars moves out of its shadow phase and this may be significant for you.
Gemini’s the star sign that rules siblings and neighbours, your local community. It’s about your commute, transport and all forms of communication, both the spoken and written word. If you’ve been involved in a major project over the last seven months, you might be tying up loose ends or be ready to let go and move on.
Mars leaves Gemini on the 25th and enters Cancer, the star sign linked to your home and family, your past and where you come from. The gestation period is over and whatever you’ve been working on can be born. You could be more actively involved with family or creating a new family around you.
Perhaps, you now know where home lies and this is something you’ve been searching for or you’ve been pondering recently. On a practical level, it’s time to get busy at home whether you’re renovating, moving or having people to stay.
Love Vibes
Love is under the cosmic spotlight this month as lovely Venus is in your star sign Aries until the 16th. You’re not shy if you’re a typical Sun Aries. Instead, your nature is impulsive and daring. Venus in your star sign could kick-start your love life into action and fast.
The Venus-Jupiter conjunction in Aries on the 2nd is the stand-out date for love. Jupiter is the biggest planet and expands what it touches. Be open to love and abundance as Jupiter soars through your star sign.
Take note of the 11th too, when the lovers of the heavens Venus & Mars get together. This would be a lovely date for love, socialising and making the most of your close relationships.
Equinox – Aries Season
March is a significant month for you as it’s the start of your birthday season, when the Sun moves into your star sign Aries on the 20th. This is the date of the Equinox and an important date in astrology as a new zodiac year begins.
The Equinox brings with it a sense of a fresh start, new energy and a desire to take action and fast. In the northern hemisphere, this coincides with the onset of spring and themes of sowing seeds and new ideas coming to fruition.
Plus, this year, there’s a New Moon immediately that the Sun enters Aries on the 21st. This is the first of two New Moons in your star sign as there’ll be a Solar Eclipse in Aries on April 20th. This may mean you’re moving forward at turbo speed, fast and furious.
Also, talk planet Mercury enters Aries on the 19th. When planets are in Aries, this is about your personal goals and aims, your image and profile and how the world sees you. It’s about your physical body and the way you approach life.
Set new ideas and projects in motion after the 20th/21st and pick up on the New Moon forward-moving vibe. This is your nature, to start things, get things moving, to be proactive, dynamic and motivated.
Everything starts to move at a fast rate of knots in the last ten days of March. You’re out of the starting blocks of life and shooting off in all directions. It’s exciting and there’s a sense of renewal or rebirth, a chance to start over.
Jupiter kicks in again on the 28th when there’s a luck Mercury-Jupiter conjunction. This could bring news your way that’s a cause for celebration. Or, perhaps you’re teaming up with other people to pursue your passions or desires.
Ramp up the pace once the Sun’s on your side and put energy and dynamism into your personal goals, get fit in your mind, body and soul.
This is your time of year. Even though there may be stops and starts throughout the first half of March, you’re right to get ready for an important move in your life, a brand new chapter or beginning. Luck and good fortune are on your side.
Saturn Enters Pisces – March 7
Saturn is the planet of rules and regulation, authority, discipline and boundaries. Since December 2017, Saturn has been in Capricorn and Aquarius, its two signs of rulership. Saturn rules with a firm hand during this period.
This month, March 2023, Saturn moves into Pisces, the last star sign and an emotional water sign, which is unknown territory for the planet representing boundaries. Pisces is where the ego dissolves and you encounter the vast universe, the one-ness of life.
Will the unreal become real as fantasy, the imagination and the impossible become possible? Or, will Saturn bring structure and form to Pisces’ realm, e.g. the sea, drugs, the media, spirituality? The last time Saturn was in Pisces was 1993-1996. This time around, Saturn will remain in Pisces until 2026.
Saturn’s closing the door on Aquarius, your friendship and group sector, making room for Pluto to step in – see below. This is a significant phase which could coincide with a major ending in your life. For example, you might step down from a position of authority or a leadership role.
Pisces is the most hidden sector of your horoscope. Therefore, think about what you’re letting go of and where you’re ready to lose yourself, in a good way. Saturn’s move into Pisces turns your attention inwards. This is about your inner life, retreat and reflection, quiet times and solitude. You may be pulled back towards the past or be more aware of the cycle of karma as the wheel of fortune turns.
Pluto Enters Aquarius – March 23
The slowest-moving planet Pluto changes star sign this month and moves into Aquarius. Pluto is the planet of power & transformation, loss & endings. The last time Pluto changed star sign was 2008 when it entered Capricorn, the sign of big business, coinciding with a financial crash.
It will take Pluto eighteen months before it’s established in Aquarius, the star sign linked to technology, equality and the collective, where it will remain until 2043.
As Pluto’s a generational planet, the themes may not resonate with you immediately. Yet, it’s helpful to note where Pluto is strong in your horoscope and where there may be a theme of transformation, loss or deep psychological change.
Pluto’s been moving through Capricorn and your 10th house representing your career and vocation, future path. This is about your status and your reputation. You may have experienced a significant career transformation over recent years.
Pluto’s move into Aquarius highlights your 11th house representing friends, groups, social causes and your role in the world. Pluto in Aquarius is a symbol of power to the people and you may choose to take on a key role or position in this new wave. No doubt, some friendships or group alliances won’t work out. However, it’s in these areas of life where power is evident, as long as it’s used to good effect.
