This is potentially a special New Moon because it falls the day after a cazimi conjunction between the light of the Sun and communication planet Mercury at 20° Cancer. This means that messenger planet Mercury is a key part of the New Moon picture.
When Mercury is within 17′ arc of the Sun, this is called ‘cazimi’ in astrology. This means that Mercury is close within the rays of the Sun, bringing illumination and enlightenment.
It’s as if Mercury is sitting very close to the King of the heavens, as the Sun whispers important information and unique insights into Mercury’s ear.Â
The ‘cazimi’ moment lasts for approximately eight hours. It’s strongest from 10.30pm (GMT+1) on July 12 to 6.30am (GMT+1) on July 13.Â
If this falls at night-time for you, it’s perfect for synchronous dreams and listening out for messages from your subconscious. This is especially true as the Sun and Mercury are in one of the water signs Cancer and the water signs are said to be mute. Cancer is ruled by the Moon, which reflects light and creates a vivid imagination.
