Mars’ Power
Communication planet Mercury rules air sign Gemini where your ruling planet Mars is journeying throughout July. This may be a retrograde month up until the 23rd but, in true Aries style, you might have a lot to do.
Gemini rules communication in your horoscope and Mars in Gemini tends to be active and busy. Your mind may be more lively than usual or you’re commuting more or taking more trips. Gemini rules study and education, siblings and neighbours. There could be a lot to talk about or discuss.
Be wary, however, that you don’t use words as a weapon and be extra careful around the 4th. This is when Mars sits next to Uranus in Gemini. Yes, this can be brilliant for genius thoughts and activism but it is renowned as an accident-prone combination. Less haste, more speed.
And, with Mercury retrograde up until the 23rd, you may need to be flexible and switch things around. If necessary, clear your diary so you can get things done.
Mercury isn’t the only planet in retrograde motion as the planet of dreams Neptune and the planet of authority Saturn both switch direction in your star sign Aries on the 7th & 26th respectively.
This suggests you may take your foot off the accelerator when it comes to a personal goal. Perhaps, the timing isn’t right and you know that you’ll have a better chance of getting ahead next year.
Don’t force it if things don’t feel right. This may be the start of major change in your life. Yet, you still need to shed or let go some aspects of your identity before you can fully embody the new you that’s emerging.
Holding Steady
The Sun remains in star sign Cancer and your home and family sector until the 22nd. This is where communication planet Mercury is retrograde until the 23rd, taking you on a journey into the past. Cancer is a nostalgic and sentimental star sign.
There’s another important date where Cancer falls in your horoscope, the 14th. This is the date of the New Moon in Cancer, a symbol of new beginnings. However, with Mercury retrograde, listen for clues but don’t necessarily act upon them.
This feels like a psychic New Moon as the Sun/Mercury cazimic conjunction falls the day before the New Moon, on the 13th, a classic symbol for insights and listening to the universe.
It’s the midway point of Mercury retrograde and a time when you may know instinctively what to do regarding a home or family issue. Reach out for advice or aim to get hold of someone who you want to talk to.
Also this month, the planet of relating Venus enters earth sign Virgo on the 9th. Virgo rules work and health in your horoscope and is a reminder of the importance of returning to basics and creating a safe base around you, both emotionally and financially.
A big theme running throughout July is learning what stabilises you and where you feel safe and secure. Independence is part of your nature if you’re a typical Aries. Yet, don’t lose out on certainty and the power of knowing where home lies.
Creative Goals
The Sun enters your fellow fire sign Leo on the 23rd where it joins big planet Jupiter. With the Sun here, this is an ideal time to do more of what you love, prioritise play and go with the flow.
This combination feels generous and soulful. It could coincide with a love affair or happiness surrounding a child or pregnancy. Or perhaps, it’s a creative project that fulfils you or a time when you’re having fun and you feel entertained by life.
The luckiest date is the 29th when the Sun and Jupiter align in Leo. This is considered one of the best dates of the year because Jupiter promises good fortune. It’s an ideal date to take a leap of faith. Or perhaps, you’re celebrating good news for a child or falling head-over-heels in love.
To emphasise the drama and emotion around events, there’s a Full Moon on the same day, the 29th, cutting across the Leo/Aquarius axis of the zodiac. This whole combination feels extraordinary. Say yes to a celebration and be around people who inspire you and you them.
The Big Pattern
July is a month of significant new developments as the three modern planets, Uranus in Gemini, Neptune in Aries and Pluto in Aquarius are working together from the 15th to 25th. There’s a theme of people power, plus the recognition of the importance of individual action.
Gemini and Aquarius rule new and old friends in your life and they are linked to organisations, clubs and societies. This isn’t a time to go it alone. Instead, find your tribe and join forces with other people to help make a better world.
Expansive Jupiter in Leo is pulled into the planetary pattern and the key dates are the 20th & 21st. Perhaps, you step into a new role as a teacher or guide. Or you’re proud of a child or grandchild who’s making waves in society or out in the world.
As you move into the second half of 2026, where are you going to be at the forefront of new inventions or modern trends? You could step into a role which sees you spearheading a new local initiative, podcast or website.
