Virgo (23 August – 22 September)
This is likely to be a big month for you because so much of the planetary activity is taking place in your own sign. It’s not an easy picture however for a couple of reasons and you might find that secrets or hidden confidences come to light.
One reason for this is the fact that your ruling planet Mercury is currently retrograde, i.e. in retreat, in your own sign of Virgo. This turns your attention inward whether you feel more introverted or you understand that big changes are taking place and you need time alone to process them. Any form of personal development work enhances your life now as insights and understanding come thick and fast.
Yet Mercury retrograde is also a time when plans can unravel and things don’t go the way you want. It helps to adopt a flexible attitude to life and to keep an open mind. Don’t believe everything you hear until Mercury is back up to speed on the 22nd. Misunderstandings are likely when Mercury’s on go slow.
There are also two important eclipses this month and again they focus on your sign of Virgo. Eclipses are game-changers, they offer a new dimension, a fresh perspective. Sometimes they bring drama or the unexpected and other times they are a step up, a gateway to a new stage in your life.
The solar or New Moon eclipse takes place on the 1st in your sign of Virgo and the lunar or Full Moon eclipse takes place on the 16th cutting across the Virgo/Pisces axis of the zodiac. So these eclipses are about you and what a powerful way to celebrate your birthday month. Look out for new beginnings now and put yourself first.
Other people might interfere with what you want however and especially on the 1st and the 10th you could find that you’re being held back. This is because of the third and final Saturn-Neptune square which has dominated the heavens since November 2015.
Saturn is in Sagittarius down at the base of your chart ruling your home and family, your past and where you come from and this is about duty and responsibility in your life. Neptune is in Pisces, your opposite sign ruling your 1-to-1 relationships and Neptune can add uncertainty or confusion to the mix.
Why are other people so important to your own progress now? Are they helping or hindering? Do you want to move away from the past but are finding it hard to do so? Are you feeling disappointed with someone close or disillusioned with your current progress? These are important questions to ask yourself especially if you feel stuck or trapped.
Know too that taking action can help you now with certain issues and you might have to be daring and courageous in order to get things moving. This is because action planet Mars is also in Sagittarius until the 27th and Mars is moving quickly.
This is a motivated, potentially angry Mars but if you step up and face any difficulties head on, you can get things moving in the right direction. This might be with regard to a house move, renovations, family issues. Do what’s right for you and take charge. Step into your power and be bold.
The lunar eclipse on the 16th highlights your 1-to-1’s and this is a peak time for love and close relationships. You often see your situation clearly during Full Moon energy when the Moon is at its brightest. This is not the time to be avoiding, to hide your own feelings or to brush anything under the carpet.
Instead look honestly at what you want when it comes to love and either commit or quit. It depends on your personal situation what this means for you but once again try to be in control, whether other people do what you want or not. Know that during a lunar eclipse, you can take advantage as one person wins and another person loses. The trick is to end up on the winning team.
The biggest and best planet Jupiter is also on the move in September. On the 9th it leaves your sign of Virgo and this is an indication that it’s time to go out with a flourish. Whatever you want for you personally, make it happen now.
Focus on your personal aims and goals, be true to you and recognise what you’ve learned over the past year whilst Jupiter has been in your sign. In particular, Jupiter is linked to travel and study and understanding that experiences mould you rather than possessions and material goals.
Money is also under the cosmic spotlight this month. Firstly because Venus is in Libra and your personal money sector until the 22nd and this is a reminder to treat yourself and the ones you love. Secondly, Jupiter moves into Libra on the 9th where it remains for approximately one year.
Learn about money, trust and have faith, go with the flow and don’t get hooked up on money matters. You’re learning a lot about freedom, living the life you choose, moving away from restriction and limitation, learning to love who you are.
When Mercury turns direct on the 22nd, it does so in a close trine aspect to Pluto in your fellow earth sign Capricorn. Capricorn rules all the good things in life, such as romance, creativity, children, entertainment. On the 27th, Mars joins Pluto in Capricorn and this is a welcome boost of energy, a reminder to do more of what you love.
