Virgo (23 August – 22 September)
As October begins, both Venus (relating) and Mars (action) remain in your sign of Virgo. Venus is here until the 14th and Mars until the 22nd.
What’s remarkable about this month, however, is that Venus and Mars come together in the zodiac for the one and only time this year on the 5th, and in your sign of Virgo. This highlights love in your life but also your personal goals and passions. It could be an exceptionally exciting time for you if your birthday falls on the 12th or 13th September.
Whatever your birth date, however, this is a lovely combination and a sign to put yourself first and to love the ones you’re with. If you’re looking for love, leap to it as soon as October begins as both Mars and Venus team up with Pluto in your romance sector on the 1st and 3rd respectively. Things could turn hot and steamy as October gets underway.
Pluto also powers up the sector of your horoscope that rules children, creative projects, entertainment and luck. So focus your energy in these areas as this spells good news for you.
The trickiest phase is the 8th to the 11th as Saturn gets in on the act and clashes first with Venus then Mars. Saturn slows things down and reveals any limitations or obstacles in your path. Saturn is currently in Sagittarius at the base of your chart ruling your home and family, your past and where you come from.
This could highlight a limitation or obstacle in your path whether you’re in the midst of a property deal or you have a difficult relationship with someone in your family. Take your time and be patient but, at the same time, don’t put up with bad behaviour.
Money is also a major focus of October’s stars, as both the Sun and Mercury begin the month in Libra and your personal money sector. It’s important to look after your finances now and pay close attention to the flow of money, both in and out.
The Full Moon on the 5th is a pivotal date to consider your financial situation as you often see things clearly when the Moon is at its brightest. Employ an accountant, budget for the future and get on top of facts and figures.
There are a few bumps along the way this month because any planet in Libra has to encounter the slower-moving planets, Uranus and Pluto. The first challenge comes on the 9th & 10th when Mercury, your ruler, and the Sun both clash with Pluto.
Pluto often negates what it touches so this isn’t brilliant news for money and it’s not the best time to get into power games over money matters. Hold tight to what’s yours and don’t let anyone bully you financially.
Mercury then clashes with Uranus on the 15th and the Sun opposes Uranus on the 19th, the day of the New Moon in Libra. So this feels as if your money situation is changing this month and you might need to be more flexible around money matters.
Traditionally on a New Moon, it’s an ideal time for new beginnings, for taking a punt, starting over in some way. Yet with Uranus in on the act, you have to factor in the unexpected and not knowing what’s coming your way, especially with regard to other people. So keep your cards close to your chest and don’t reveal everything until you know where you stand.
Mercury also teams up with Saturn in a helpful planetary aspect on the 13th and this could be a turn-around date for a property matter or be good for collaborating with someone close to you. Talk about money on or close to the 13th and see what options are available.
Both Venus and Mars enter Libra on the 14th and 22nd respectively, so money matters are not going away. You have to take other people into account and get the right kind of support too. There is a sense that together you’ll be better off than going it alone.
The big news this month, however, is Jupiter’s move into Scorpio. Jupiter is the planet of opportunity and good fortune, it represents expansion and luck and it spends one year in each sign of the zodiac. On October 10th, Jupiter leaves the air sign Libra and enters the water sign Scorpio.
Jupiter remains in this sector of your chart until November 2018 and this is a time when you’ll begin to recognise that knowledge and words have power. You might decide to study or go back to school, perhaps to learn a new language or gain new qualifications.
Jupiter is the teacher so it’s a positive period to share what you know with others and to offer the wealth of your experience. You might consider a role as a coach or counsellor, step into a public speaking role or become a spokesperson for a local group or a cause you believe in.
