Virgo Monthly Stars September 2013

It’s back to school month and with both the Sun and your ruling planet Mercury in your sign of Virgo as the month begins, this is an excellent time to pack your metaphorical pencil case and set yourself new goals for the weeks and months ahead.

Virgo rules your personal ambitions and the spotlight’s on you. It’s always a good time to ensure you’re in tip top condition and do whatever’s necessary to feed your mind, body and soul. Your sign excels in being organised and making lists so you can plan ahead and feel a sense of achievement when you reach your goals.

The New Moon in Virgo on the 5th is especially powerful for you as it’s the planetary equivalent of New Year’s Day, a day when you can look ahead to the next year and what you want for yourself and what’s important. Make a wish when you first see the crescent Moon in the sky and initiate new beginnings in life. It can be a long project or a quick blast of energy. For example, see what you can achieve in the two weeks between the New Moon in Virgo and the Full Moon in Pisces on the 19th. Begin it on the New Moon and complete it on the Full Moon.

This is a great month to have fun as you’re the one in the spotlight, the birthday boy/girl. When the Sun’s in your sign it’s the perfect excuse to celebrate and enjoy yourself. The first week of the month looks brilliant for socialising and with Jupiter, planet of expansion, in your friendship sector, it’s a good time to make new friends or join a club, group or society. Saturday the 7th is perfect for a party or social occasion and the Sun remains in Virgo until the 22nd putting you in the cosmic spotlight.

Your ruler Mercury is a quick mover when it’s moving in the right direction and on the 9th Mercury leaves Virgo and enters Libra and your cash sector. This is when you need to turn your attention to money matters and deal one more time with an ongoing issue. Libra is one of the cardinal signs and there’s currently a cardinal Grand Cross in the heavens. Three of the planets are slower-moving but every time one of the personal planets enters Libra it creates the fourth axis of the cross. Last month over the Bank Holiday weekend in the UK (24th-27th) it was Venus’ turn, this month it’s Mercury’s turn from the 14th-20th and next month it will be the Sun’s turn.

So the good news is that you have more than one chance to deal with a continuing issue; the bad news is that challenges come thick and fast. The areas of your life involved in the Grand Cross are money including personal finances and monies owed, kids, a lover, a creative project, a hobby or your friends. So it depends on your personal situation how this is going to play out. Yes it is a challenge but it’s looking at what you need to let go of and where you need to hold on tight to ensure your financial security.

Mercury in Libra suggests that staying calm will help and being a clear negotiator will double your luck. Smooth things over, talk things through and ensure that you see both sides of the situation. Help others see how to handle finances well and create a healthy balance in your own life when it comes to giving and receiving. Do expect a few more arguments about money though when Mercury’s under the cosh especially the week of the 14th-20th.

The Full Moon that falls in the middle of this week on the 19th is in your opposite sign of Pisces so the spotlight’s on close relationships and getting things right. This is a good day to broach any important issue or make a key decision about love and partnership. It’s important to ensure that you put love first and don’t let other issues spoil the party or come between you and your other half. Champion romance and put some passion into love.

Communication is powerful now and words have power. On the 11th, Venus, planet of relating, moves into Scorpio and your communication sector so expect more than one deep and meaningful conversation in your life. How you communicate with others influences your relationships greatly, both personal and professional. Learn to speak with power or authority and know that if you make ultimatums, they’re likely to be final.

If you’re up against a powerful figure in your life, i.e. the boss or someone else who has a strong hold over you, you may find it challenging to speak up or get tongue-tied at the most inconvenient times. Same goes if you’re giving a talk or presentation and it’s important to do your research and ensure you’re well prepared. You may be asked to step into a new position of responsibility or authority this month on or around the 18th-21st.
