Virgo (23 August – 22 September)
As March begins, there’s a sense of ‘same old, same old’ for you as Mercury is still in the sign of Aquarius ruling your work, your everyday routine, your health and fitness. Mercury entered Aquarius on January 5th but due to its retrograde motion, it’s still here until March 13th.
If there have been problems, complications or general disruption in any of these areas, you can now focus on getting well or putting things right.
Mercury’s moving swiftly through this sector of your chart so make these areas your main focus in order that your lifestyle works well. Getting the work/life balance in harmony is part of this picture.
This month however the big news is love as a lot of the major activity for you takes place in Pisces, your opposite sign, ruling your relationships and your 1-to-1 interactions.
Pisces is a romantic sign so the spotlight’s on love relationships although planets in Pisces rule any key relationship in your life, personal, professional and otherwise. It could mean your accountant, your personal trainer, your bestie or anyone who challenges or opposes you. This is where the action’s at.
The Sun is in Pisces until the 20th and on the 5th there’s a Full Moon that falls across the Virgo-Pisces axis of your chart. Emotions are heightened at the time of the Full Moon and events can be dramatic yet you often see your situation clearly. You may experience an outpouring of emotion during this Full Moon and as Pluto is in on the act in your fellow earth sign of Capricorn, it’s potentially intense and passionate.
A week later, your ruler Mercury enters Pisces so relationships are going to be the talking point. There’s a lot to discuss with your other half or key players in your life and a lot to sort out. Around the 16th and 18th one situation in particular might seem impossible, something that blocks you or holds you back. This could be related to a family member or someone from your past or your partner’s past. You have to believe in what you have and that you can find a solution to any problem but it won’t always be easy.
Plus there’s a Solar Eclipse in Pisces on the 20th and this is crunch time. Eclipses often bring what’s hidden to light and you can no longer ignore what you’ve been trying to avoid. Rather than live in fantasy land or have your head in the clouds, you have to get real and see a situation in its reality. Is there a solution? Is there a way you can work things out together or is it time to move on? Eclipses often mirror such dramatic decisions.
Plus this eclipse falls at 29 Pisces, the last degree in the zodiac so even though this eclipse is a Solar or New Moon eclipse, it also represents an ending. This could turn out to be a huge turning point in your life and in one relationship in particular.
There’s no set scenario however and for some this is about saying goodbye and moving on but for others it’s seeing clearly where your heart lies and what you want when it comes to love and relationships. One thing’s for sure, this month’s astrology is both passionate and dramatic so there will be lots of excitement one way or another. If you meet someone new this month, it could totally turn your life upside-down.
To add to the excitement and intensity, both the relationship planets Venus and Mars begin the month in the feisty fire sign of Aries. Venus remains here until the 17th and Mars until the 31st. This combination feels competitive and if you feel strongly about something or someone, you’ll be ready to fight for it or them. If you’re involved in a love affair or a custody battle over children, this month’s stars raise the heat.
This is also due to the final Uranus-Pluto square which takes place on March 17th. This is the 7th and final square aspect which began in June 2012 and you might have felt its influence a few years previously. This is linked to key relationships in your life as the Uranus-Pluto square interconnects to both Venus and Mars, the relationship planets from the 4th until the 11th. So it’s personal and it’s urgent.
How has this square aspect played out in your life over the last few years? Once you know what it’s about for you, then you can start working out how best to deal with it. It might be about a past relationship or current relationship but Uranus in Aries rules finances as well as deep emotions and Pluto in Capricorn targets love affairs, children, babies, creative projects and luck.
The basic symbolism of this duo is ‘out with the old and in with the new’ and on some level it’s futile to resist change and important not to repeat the mistakes of the past. Push for what you want now and hard but know too that this month’s stars are urging you to close a door on the past so you can start afresh.
You might have to cut your losses financially in order to be free of a tight bond, deal or transaction that hasn’t worked out for you. You might have to cut off emotionally and walk away from someone who’s caused you pain in the past. Get rid of dead wood in your life, move away from people who are toxic or a bad influence, wipe the slate again and allow new energy to flood in.
The best planetary aspect of the month takes place on March 3rd when Jupiter in Leo is in a glorious trine aspect to Uranus in Aries. This is the third of three aspects between the sky Gods of the heavens. The first aspect took place on September 25th 2014 and the third aspect will take place on June 22nd 2015. This is the middle one.
These two planets represent a break through and breaking free. Jupiter is in the most hidden sector of your chart so again there’s the theme of letting things go, moving on from the past, finding forgiveness, letting go of regret or resentment. It’s a gentle and protective influence and kindness and generosity win the day.
You might be dealing with some big issues in your life but do so in a gentle manner and be kind to yourself and others. This planetary aspect feels karmic in your chart and someone will return from your past now and repay a favour which reminds you of the inherent goodness within people and in life.
I have been reading the month for Taurus as I am one and also Virgo which is my ascendent. The problem in my mind is the March eclipse on the 20th as it is at 29 pisces. As my mars is 29 degrees scorpio I am unsure as to which sign reflects me more . Knowing my life at present and always wondering whether my boyfriend and I will split I tend to feel that I may relate more to virgo. We have been together around 8 years but nothing is perfect! As you sally have done my chart could you please let me know which o the two signs I should be looking at. Thank you very much.
hi Jackie, I always read my Sun sign first followed by my Ascendant. That works best for me. Eclipses are most powerful when they are conjunct or opposite a natal planet. A trine aspect as with this one isn’t as important for you. ‘Decision time’ is more likely when you have Saturn returning to 29 Scorpio in the summer months. Hope that helps. best, Sally
