Virgo Monthly Stars January 2015

celebration fireworksVirgo (23 August – 22 September)

If you can relax and enjoy the first few days of 2015, go for it. Your ruler Mercury is in your fellow earth sign of Capricorn until the 5th and Capricorn rules all the good things in life, such as romance, creativity, entertainment and children. Enjoy yourself with the ones you love and see in the new year doing whatever you love doing best.

There is also however a sense of urgency and perhaps you’re already aware that you’re eager and ready and want things to change. The key areas are work, your lifestyle and your health. You may be looking for a new job or be ready to start the year full of New Year resolutions to eat healthily, lose some weight, get fit or change your lifestyle in some shape or form. You’re right to feel excited on New Year’s Day as you can achieve a lot in these areas but as always in astrology, timing is the key to your success.

As January begins, Mars, the action planet, is in Aquarius, the sign that rules your lifestyle sector and here’s the enthusiasm, the get-up-and-go to make changes that will give you a boost on a daily level. The next planet to join Mars in Aquarius is Venus, the planet of love, and she enters Aquarius on the 3rd.

This means that you’re going to be most successful in your endeavours when you team up with other people to help support you and to be accountable to. Don’t feel that you have to go it alone; join a dance or exercise class with a friend, encourage your partner to tweak your eating habits together, run with your neighbour or a member of your family or quit a habit for January or longer and do it as part of a team.

The third planet to enter Aquarius is your ruling planet, Mercury on the 5th and Mercury remains in this sector of your chart until mid-March. This is because on January 21st, Mercury turns retrograde and will be on go slow until February 11th. This tells you that if you’re looking for work or want to start a new health routine, you’re wise to do it earlier in January rather than later.

There is a New Moon in Aquarius on January 20th and this is a key date to apply for a job or speak up with regard to work. However, as Mercury retreats the following day this suggests that you may then have to play a waiting game or be patient before you get the information or news you want. It’s important to note that when Mercury is on go slow, traditionally this period isn’t favoured for making big decisions or signing a new contract.

This is because new information often comes to light once Mercury picks up speed again and you may find a better job or position waiting for you around the corner. If you’re looking for work or want to change your work situation in some way, late February and early March are pitch perfect. Until then, keep on track with what you want to do and make your moves but know that you will have to undergo a period of confusion or unclarity before you find your way again. You may also find that you change your mind whilst Mercury’s on go slow.

Other areas where new developments are likely now are your home and family and your joint finances. These two areas are linked to your work or lifestyle and if you put your mind to it, you can find a way to benefit all these areas by working together and plan accordingly. The more organised and structured you are as 2015 gets underway, the better. The 5th and 14th are brilliant dates to reach out for support and advice or have a key conversation regarding these areas but once Mercury retreats, bide your time.

The other big news this month is relationships and your 1-to-1’s as Mars, the passion planet, enters your opposite sign of Pisces on the 12th. This is great news if you’re looking for love or you want to spice up your love life. Pisces doesn’t only rule your romantic relationships but this is about professional partnerships too and Mars may bring in someone who can make a real difference to your work or business.

However, Mars is the planet of anger and frustration. This is a sign that you may find more opposition to your plans or difficulties with regard to your 1-to-1’s increases whilst Mars is in this sector of your chart. You may become disillusioned or dissatisfied with someone close and find that instead of helping you they start to hinder you. Know that if you push the other person or pick them up on your dissatisfaction, tempers will flare quickly. If you’re ready to move on, then fine; otherwise keep a low profile.

There is a lesson in here about being less critical or judgemental of others and trying to let people be and see how that feels. We’re all human and everyone makes mistakes so practise the art of forgiveness if it feels appropriate to do so. Some relationships are worth fighting for and it’s up to you to decide whether to let go, let someone be or get ready to move on.
