Virgo (23 August – 22 September)
Your ruling planet Mercury has started its journey through Aquarius, the star sign which rules your work and routine, your lifestyle and health, as February gets underway. You may remember from last month’s horoscope that Mercury changed star sign on the last day of January, the same day as the Lunar Eclipse cutting across the Leo/Aquarius axis of the zodiac.
Eclipses often change your situation in some way as life feels intensified and events speed up. You may already know what this is about for you and where you’re having to think on your feet. This is by no means the end of the story. In fact, this is a good time to ensure you’re fully informed about your current job or work situation and/or your health.
Mercury isn’t alone in Aquarius as February begins. The Sun is here until the 18th, the same day as Mercury, and the planet of relating, Venus, is in Aquarius until the 10th. This feels collaborative, as if you can work alongside other people to get more done, achieve more and get better results.
Aquarius rules technology and all things new and modern. Bear this in mind if you want to get up-to-date dietary or health advice or you’re considering new work options. If you’re aware that you’re behind the times with regard to social media or online work opportunities, this is where to focus your attention.
It’s important to be in the know, to explore all your options and arrange any significant meetings or interviews before the 15th. This is the date of the Solar Eclipse in Aquarius, part of the Leo/Aquarius eclipse cycle which began in August 2016 and completes in January 2019.
Solar Eclipses are turbo-powered New Moons, i.e. they often coincide with a fresh start or a new chapter. What’s interesting about this Solar Eclipse is it’s the only one in Aquarius during this whole eclipse cycle. Which means it could bring a significant turning point with regard to your work and routine, your lifestyle or health.
Being a Virgo, you are often health conscious and you like to be well-informed about your diet, body and fitness. Whatever your current health situation, the Solar Eclipse brings matters to a head and sets you on a new path.
What’s important to remember with the eclipses is that they have a shadowy or hidden theme. If you think about eclipse symbolism, the light goes out momentarily leaving you in the dark. When the light switch is flicked back on, you experience new insight or find the landscape has changed.
Bear this in mind and see where or how you can take advantage of a changing scenario, whether new information comes to light or one door closes allowing a new door to open. Traditionally, you’re wise to wait a few days after an eclipse before making a major decision or taking action.
The other major theme of your month ahead is love and relationships, thanks to a strong influence in your opposite sign of Pisces. Most importantly, love planet Venus moves into Pisces on the 10th where it remains until the end of the month. You are the star sign who has the love planet in your relationship sector during Valentines Day, February 14th, so make the most of it.
The most romantic day of the month, however, is likely to be the 21st when Venus and Neptune come together in the heavens. Neptune is linked to romance and it’s currently spending many years in your relationship sector. The times when it connects with key planets in your horoscope often prove significant.
Both your ruler, Mercury, and the Sun join Venus in Pisces on the 18th. If you’re in a relationship or married, this is a good time to prioritise your love life and do something special with the one you love. If you’re looking for love, make the most of Venus boosting your chances and ask for introductions or be more flirtatious when you’re out socially.
Of course, it’s not going to be happy-ever-after for all Virgo individuals and it’s important to realise that there’s a flip side to Neptune. Neptune is the total opposite of your precise Virgo nature. Earth signs like yourself want to deal with reality and the facts, whereas Neptune rules fantasy.
Falling in love is often hard to understand logically. Instead, you fall head-over-heels in love and lose yourself in a romantic haze. Just make sure that you keep a firm anchor on solid ground and you don’t get completely carried away. Engage your earth sign common sense and don’t allow yourself to be seduced or deluded. This can also be Neptune’s way if you give in to the illusion.
This is important to remember with regard to other significant 1-to-1’s in your life, whether this is a business partner or a financial adviser, for example. Don’t give over control to someone else completely. Even if one particular individual is absolutely charming, ensure you keep a tight hold on the facts and are well-informed before making any key decisions.
This could also be an exciting month for home and family matters. This is because action planet Mars is in Sagittarius at the base of your horoscope. Events could unfurl rapidly in these areas of your life as Mars is speedy. Note too, however, that Mars rules anger and is impulsive so this could bring more arguments, more noise and stress.
The most confusing time for home and family affairs is around the middle of the month when Mars clashes with Neptune. This is when people close to you may not see eye-to-eye or perhaps you’re dealing with builders or estate agents who are slippery and hard to handle. Do what you do best and keep close tabs on what’s happening and read through the small print of important documents.
At its best, however, this month is a time to boost your energy and fitness levels and line up a new job or everyday activity that’s worthwhile and interesting. Indulge your romantic nature too. It’s sometimes hidden but is never far below the surface.
