Love Not Hate
This week, the major astrology involves the powerful pairing of Venus and Mars. Venus and Mars are the symbols for women (Venus) and men (Mars). They are also symbols of peace (Venus) and war (Mars), love (Venus) and hate (Mars).
Two years ago, on February 24, 2022, the president of Russia, Vladimir Putin invaded Ukraine. On the same day, the planet of war Mars was at 22° Capricorn, the exact degree of the epochal Saturn-Pluto conjunction, which took place on January 12, 2020.
What was also significant is that Venus and Mars both encountered Pluto at 27° Capricorn. These conjunctions took place on the same day, March 3, 2022.
Venus and Mars left Capricorn and then came together in a Venus-Mars conjunction at 0° Aquarius on March 6, 2022. This was the same degree as the Jupiter-Saturn conjunction on December 21, 2020.
Both the Saturn/Pluto conjunction in Capricorn and the Jupiter/Saturn conjunction in Aquarius in 2020 were significant astrological markers, indicating that we were at the start of a hugely important era in history.
I’m writing this because two years ago was the last time that God of Mars was in Capricorn/Aquarius and it was the last Venus-Mars conjunction. We’re going to experience another Venus-Mars conjunction at 6° Aquarius on February 22nd, next week.
It’s a big ask but could the upcoming Venus-Mars conjunction bring a positive turning point in the wars that are raging on our planet? Or, could there be some kind of intervention that’s about collaboration and a meeting of minds (Aquarius).
Two years ago, 2022, Mars was undeniably stronger than Venus in its sign of exaltation. This gave the Mars/Pluto conjunction in Capricorn extra strength and power.
This year, 2024, theoretically, Venus and Mars are more equally balanced in Aquarius. In Aquarius, there’s a theme of collaboration, coming together for the greater good.
Either way, you would expect this to be a pivotal couple of weeks in the wars that are raging on our planet. Please, please, please #ceasefire.
Venus & Mars Enter Aquarius
Mars and Venus both move into air sign Aquarius this week, Mars on Tuesday 13th and Venus on Friday 16th. Both combinations are freedom-loving, independent and unconventional.
Mars in Aquarius fights for humanitarian rights and plays an active role within society. Venus in Aquarius combines love and friendship and it’s about a meeting of minds, first and foremost. Aquarius is the star sign that’s linked to group activities and the collective. It’s an ideal time to reach out online – Aquarius rules technology – and connect with people of like minds.
Venus & Mars Conjunct Pluto
Immediately both Mars and Venus move into Aquarius, they meet Pluto at 0° Aquarius. The Mars-Pluto conjunction is on Wednesday 14th and the Venus-Pluto conjunction is on Saturday 17th.
Therefore, for some relationships, alliances or business partnerships, this is a crucial period in the year. It may feel intense and something may be on the verge of ending. Alternatively, you’re in an incredibly passionate and invigorating relationship phase. Either way, this is not a time to ignore relationships or partnerships in your life. And, notice where the balance of power lies.
Mars and Pluto coming together can be brutal and ruthless. Therefore, this isn’t the best planetary picture for Valentine Day, Wednesday 14th, which should be all roses, hearts and teddy bears.
Power, control and anger should have little to do with emotion and heart-related connections. Tuesday 13th or Friday 16th would be better dates this week to celebrate love.
Venus and Pluto coming together can be obsessive, also potentially sexy. You could interpret Venus conjunct Pluto as representing undying love. It conjures up the words ’till death us do part’ in a marriage vow.
Venus and Pluto together can be passionate, also jealous and suspicious. When Mars and Venus encounter Pluto, it’s worth asking yourself, what has to die to be reborn? There may be a theme of rebirth or renewal, perhaps to do with love or with money.
The other way of looking at this planetary picture is that Venus and Mars are working as a team. So, perhaps there’s someone who can stand alongside you, as you issue an ultimatum or deal a loss in your life. There may be support and strength in the right partnerships.
Big astrology coming up this Valentines week – will it bring fireworks or ceasefire?
