Taurus October 2016

Taurus, mountains

Taurus (20 April – 20 May)

October’s astrology indicates this is the perfect time to pick up the pace and crack on with new projects and experiences. There’s strong focus this month on the cardinal signs, especially Aries, Libra and Capricorn and this is go-for-it energy, strong and dynamic.

As October begins, there’s a New Moon in Libra on the 1st and this lights up the sector of your chart connected to work and routine, your lifestyle and health. New Moons are brilliant for new beginnings so if you’re feeling tired or bored, what can you do to spice things up? Shake up your routine on the New Moon, implement new habits or strategies that help make life easier and more enjoyable for you.

Focus on your health and this is especially important at a time in the year when the seasons are changing. What you’ve been doing for the last few months might not work for the next few months so take some time to consider your diet, exercise, well-being and what works for you. If you’ve heard of new supplements or fitness ideas, the New Moon on the 1st is a brilliant date to start one of them.

Work too falls under the cosmic spotlight this month but this isn’t about your career or the bigger picture. Rather it’s about finding flow in your life, working easily rather than stressing yourself out and taking on too much. The biggest planet, Jupiter, will be in Libra throughout the year so consider a new way of working, one that fits well with your lifestyle and your daily routine.

Being a Taurus and one of the earth signs you understand intrinsically that big magic can be found in simple things. One of the most exciting days for your work this month is the 11th when communication planet Mercury teams up with Jupiter in Libra. This is perfect for learning, teaching, sharing ideas and a great day for a job interview or meeting.

The planet that’s strongest and going hell for leather in October is action planet Mars. Mars moved into your fellow earth sign of Capricorn at the end of September where it remains throughout October. Mars likes being in Capricorn because this is a Mars that can get things done and climb to the top of its chosen mountain.

Capricorn rules travel and study in your chart and it includes whatever activity in life gives you deeper meaning. It’s big picture thinking, whether this is linked to spirituality, philosophy, new learning. It’s in these areas where you can focus your energy and make things happen.

You are however going to have to push hard to get what you want and in some cases, you won’t be able to proceed without a fight. Mars is up against opposition from other planets throughout October so whether work gets in the way of your plans or you have to keep pushing to find what’s right for you, don’t give up.

If you’re currently studying, you’re likely to have a busy month with some tight deadlines. If you’re organising a trip away, you might have to keep trying due to a postponement or plans being altered at the last-minute. The trickiest dates are the 5th, 19th and 29th so bear this in mind and decide where you want to push hard and where you’re willing to back down.

It’s important too to listen to your inner voice and your natural instincts. If something doesn’t feel right, then explore it further. If something’s making you ill with stress, then slow down. The Full Moon on the 16th highlights the most hidden sector of your chart and this is a time when you will see your situation clearly, what’s possible and what’s not. Look after you in the month ahead rather than try and achieve the impossible.

Other people also play a key role in your plans now as your ruling planet Venus is in Scorpio and your opposite sign until the 18th. This is a potentially sexy placing for Venus and if you’re looking for love, pencil the 1st and 5th into your diary for a date or introduction.

If you’re in a relationship or marriage, use Venus in Scorpio to add passion and intimacy to your love life. This is a full-on month for love and whether you’re spending time apart or you’re keen to improve your sex life, passion is the key. If you can get away for a weekend or a few days, go for it and be indulgent.

The New Moon on the 30th also falls in Scorpio which is ideal for starting afresh in love and the 27th too is a date to note when the Sun and Mercury combine. This is a lovely symbol for connection and communication.

Money is a factor however and whilst Saturn is in Sagittarius and your joint finance sector, you can’t be overly extravagant. This combination is more about saving than spending, finding ways to trim back your expenses rather than take on more.

Money matters heat up this month once your ruler Venus joins Saturn in Sagittarius on the 18th. Venus wants to enjoy the good things in life and there might be a gift or bonus that comes your way once Venus lights up this sector of your chart.

However in reality it’s more likely that work and a regular income is your passage to prosperity and when Venus teams up with Saturn on the 30th, it’s important to be sensible about money. This is a date when you might have to decide what you can and can’t afford and if anything, you’re wise to take the pace slow when it comes to money matters.

October’s likely to be a full-on month so choose what you want to pursue carefully and decide where your priorities lie. There’s a chance to gallop ahead at top speed as long as you dodge any potential potholes as you aim high and climb your chosen mountain.
