Taurus Monthly Stars October 2014

Green leavesTaurus (20 April – 20 May)

Big month coming up, Taurus, with two eclipses on the 8th and 23rd which are often thought of as destiny moments in the calendar year and Mercury, the planet of communication, retrograde from the 4th-25th. The simplest guidance for your month ahead would be to put off any major decision until the end of the month and wait and see what life has in store before then.

Both eclipses and Mercury retrograde share a ‘hidden’ theme so by month’s end, new information will have come to light which helps you see things more clearly and/or other people have made up their mind about what they want to do and this has a knock-on effect in your own life.

If there are times this month you feel unsure or sense you’re playing a waiting game, use your Taurean patience to keep calm rather than stressing out. Your sign of Taurus is the master (mistress) of sticking to the facts and dealing with reality rather than letting your mind run away with itself.

Plus this month your ruling planet Venus is involved in all the action which means the heat is on but also that you have a fair say in what takes place and a chance to call the shots.

Venus begins the month in the sign of Libra, where she’s a fair ruler; discriminating, honest and balanced. Libra is the sign that rules your everyday work, your routine and lifestyle and therefore your body and health. Libra requires a balanced lifestyle to perform at her best so prioritise the mind-body-soul connection and, whatever else is going on in your life, ensure that self care is a daily necessity rather than a luxury.

The eclipse on the 8th is a Lunar or Full Moon eclipse cutting across the Aries/Libra axis of your horoscope which ties in to a major planetary aspect that involves Venus. Venus is square Pluto on the 8th and opposes Uranus on the 11th and if you have planets in the middle of the cardinal signs, Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn, here again you feel the weight of the ongoing Uranus-Pluto square.

The symbolism is clear: it’s out with the old and in with the new and it’s about doing what’s right for you in the midst of the decisions/events taking place on or around the dates above. You may not like everything that takes place but know that ultimately life is guiding you and trust that you can learn from mid-month events. This may involve your work or health and any wake-up call is a chance to re-orient your own life direction and remember the Libran symbol of balance.

There may also be a chance to renegotiate, rework or rethink key events this month with Mercury backtracking through the sign of Libra. Nothing is set in stone until Mercury turns direct on the 25th and this is an important date for you to speak up or renegotiate a contract. Your stars this month suggest a need to retune your everyday lifestyle in whichever way you’re out of kilter. Getting the balance right takes time so be patient and kind to yourself as your scales tip and realign.

The stars suggest that there’s someone who’s backing you or working in your favour as Mars, your partner planet, is firing on all cylinders in Sagittarius and early in the month Mars connects with the go-getting planets Jupiter (opportunity) and Uranus (risk) also in fire signs, Leo and Aries respectively. This is a gorgeous happening energy and as Mars is trine Uranus on the 5th and trine Jupiter on the 8th, this signals that events in another person’s life may impact on yours in a good way.

Listen out for intervention, a good news story, a celebration, a reason for a ‘hoorah’. For some, it’s your partner who’s moving on, buying a new home or gaining a cash bonus and for others, it may be your own investments or ventures that help you break free or break through in some shape or form. You could also find that someone from your past repays you for a favour or your fairy godmother waves her magic wand.

Jupiter down at the base of your chart ruling your home and family and where you come from is urging you to spread your wings, expand your living space and think global. A chance to emigrate perhaps or visit family who live abroad. Keep your options open and let your entrepreneurial spirit guide you to take a risk that’s a sure winner and a sound investment for you and the ones you love.

Relationships hot up considerably later in the month when both the Sun and your ruler Venus enter your opposite sign of Scorpio on the 23rd. As the Moon also moves into Scorpio on this date, the Solar or New Moon Eclipse on the 23rd is a powerful one for love and feminine energy. Eclipses are thought of as being dramatic, destiny moments and when you look back at the events which took place in years to come you realise they were a key turning point in your life.

This Solar Eclipse does feel romantic as Neptune, the planet of romance, connects with the Sun/Venus/Moon conjunction. It’s powerful Goddess energy so note who comes into your life on or around this date or see who steps up and you notice them.

Scorpio’s a sexy sign so there may be an irresistible attraction or force in your life which you just cannot say no to. It’s a deeply powerful time for a wedding or engagement but it may just as easily be someone new pulling you away from a relationship or steady partnership. Wait until a few days after the eclipse before making a major move but know, that as October comes to a close, the events playing out this month mean that your life can’t stand still and you have to change step more than once in order to keep time with a different drum.
