Taurus (20 April-20 May)
Your ruler Venus is in Leo as the month begins and Venus remains down at the bottom of your chart until the 22nd. Leo is the sign that rules home and family affairs and your domestic situation and this is where your attention will be drawn towards.
It’s also about your past and where you come from. Don’t be surprised if you’re drawn back to the place you grew up or find yourself on a trip down memory lane. This may be due to an ex or an unexpected surprise or announcement from someone from your childhood. In particular see what happens on or around the 8th July. It feels exciting.
Relationships in general may feel rather weighty this month however and this has a lot to do with the fact that Saturn in your opposite sign of Scorpio has been slowing down in the heavens and on the 8th, Saturn turns direct and picks up speed again. If there’s someone in your life holding you back or you’re up against tough opposition either in your personal or your professional life, take your time.
Saturn can be a negative influence so whether it’s someone bringing you down intentionally and raining on your parade or there’s someone you care about who feels depressed or low, Saturn requires careful handling. The good news, however, is that mid-month you can find a better way to deal with a difficult person or be able to help someone you care about.
This is because from the 17th-19th July there’s a grand water trine in the heavens and two other planets are supporting Saturn. One is Jupiter in Cancer and your communication sector and the other is Neptune in Pisces and your friendship sector. This quickly reveals your way forward which is via communication and the advice or influence of friends. Jupiter and Neptune together feel charitable so if you know that changing your own response to others may shift a difficult situation, give it a go.
This can be a quite magical time with regard to connections and especially love and for some Taureans this may bring in a proposal or a new commitment. Water signs rule the emotions so trust your intuition, be forgiving if it feels right and reach out and connect with other people. This can also be a profoundly spiritual experience which reminds you that whatever your situation in life, you’re not alone. There’s always someone who cares for you and you for them.
Communication is the big theme not only this month but for a whole year as Jupiter, planet of opportunity, begins its year-long journey through Cancer and your communication sector. If you’re waiting for news, a go-ahead or a green light, the most significant date this month is the 20th when Mercury, planet of communication, turns direct in your communication zone. This is a double whammy of good news and the ability to make progress. Often when Mercury turns new information comes to light and you’ll want to leap into action and ensure that you make the most of what’s on offer.
Mars, the action planet, is also in Cancer from the 13th and on the 22nd Mars connects with Jupiter in the heavens. This is an enthusiastic, go-getting energy so ensure your voice is heard, launch your website, write your newsletter, say your piece. You could sit back and wait for life to deliver or you could grab the action whilst you can and make things happen. A phone call, email or text can make all the difference.
Cancer also rules your siblings, neighbours and your local community plus a thirst for knowledge. This is a great month to begin a course or study something new especially if it’s the start of a year-long journey but wait until Mercury has finished its retrograde period on the 20th. Up until that date do your research and decide what you’re going to do.
On the same day that Mars and Jupiter get together (22nd), there’s a Full Moon cutting across the Leo/Aquarius axis and what’s interesting about this Full Moon is that it’s the first of two Full Moons in the same sign of the zodiac, Aquarius. As Aquarius rules your career sector this adds a double theme to work or your career. If you don’t succeed at what you’re trying to do on or around the 22nd July, don’t give up hope but revisit your endeavour or try again on August 21st.
Some of you may even decide that work must come first for whatever reason this month and next and you could decide to postpone a trip away or holiday. With all big decisions this month and so much energy in water signs, do what feels right rather than try and work things out rationally.
Finally this month Venus is on the move into your fellow earth sign of Virgo on the 22nd highlighting romance, kids, luck and entertainment. Ensure that life isn’t all work and no play and arrange some fun days or nights out. Romance looks especially dreamy on the 26th as long as you keep your feet on the ground and don’t let yourself be fooled by someone you meet. Avoid glamour and hype and plump for the person with an earthy sense of humour.
