Taurus (20 April – 20 May)
It’s a complex month ahead, thanks to two eclipses on the 2nd and 16th, plus Mercury retrograde from the 7th to the end of the month.
Plus, it looks as if you’re playing a key role in what’s happening as your planet Venus moves through Cancer from the 3rd to the 28th. As the eclipses cut across the Cancer/Capricorn axis of the horoscope, this is significant.
Eclipse Season
Therefore, it’s important to determine what the eclipse cycle means for you. It may be related to events taking place this July but eclipse cycles last for two years. We are currently at the mid-point of the current Cancer/Capricorn eclipse cycle which began in July 2018 and completes in July 2020.
In your horoscope, this is primarily about communication and education. Cancer rules your communication sector, both the written and spoken word and eclipses bring change. You might be going back to school, decide to drop out of university or a course, or have a specific issue with qualifications or learning that’s personal to you.
Capricorn represents higher education, also life experience. This sector of your horoscope is about travel, living abroad, your philosophy on life, your beliefs and religion. These areas are currently being challenged, whether you can’t live where you choose or what you believe is under opposition.
Ultimately, the current planetary activity may flag up where you feel limited or held back in life. Keeping an open view on things, believing anything is possible may not work so well under this month’s challenging planetary set-up.
In fact, with Mercury retrograde for most of the month, you could experience some form of communication breakdown or hear the word No more than you would like. If anything, this is a good month not to force the issue or try and combat what’s happening. Instead, Mercury retrograde is a classic period to kick back and do less not more.
Caring Connections
Take yourself out of your everyday environment, shift your perspective and take a fresh look at your life. Also, lean on other people as connections are the way forward. Venus, your planet, is kind and caring in Cancer. Plus, the other major planetary influence is Neptune in Pisces and your friendship sector.
Both planets are working in your favour, even if Venus comes under stress on the 17th and 21st. Neptune’s influence is easier and kicks in on the 18th. Cancer and Pisces are the two star sign which rules friends in your horoscope, new friends and old friends. Know your allies in the month ahead and get the right people on your side.
In addition, talk things through, express your feelings, even if answers don’t come easily. When Mercury’s on go slow, there can be misunderstandings or mis-truths. Don’t believe everything you hear and when it comes to your close connections, keep your options open.
Cancer rules your siblings and neighbours, your local community. This could be a key period for one or more of these relationships in your life. Eclipses bring change and shift the dynamics. If a community centre’s under threat, for example, know that you can play a pivotal role.
If you’re worried about a sibling or neighbour, try and act out of kindness. Not everyone’s behaviour is going to be impeccable in July but that doesn’t mean you can’t be a role model for others.
Home & Family
It does look as if there’s a lot going on close to home this month. Action planet, Mars, moves into Leo and your home and family sector on the 1st where it remains until mid-August. This is an active sector of your horoscope and Mars is good at getting things moving.
However, Mercury turns retrograde in Leo on the 7th, so expect delays or frustrations with building work, family dynamics and/or the place where you live. Life might be noisier than usual and tempers could reach boiling point.
Any issues are likely to erupt on or around the 7th/8th. The 11th also looks feisty when Mars clashes with unpredictable Uranus in your star sign, Taurus. The best advice is not to be overly-impulsive and take extra care. Leaping in is rarely wise under this astrological influence, as it can coincide with accidents or violent gestures.
It could take until the last week of July before things calm down or get resolved. On the 23rd, the Sun enters Leo, followed by your ruling planet, Venus on the 28th. Plus, there will be a New Moon in Leo on August 1st and Mercury turns direct on this date too.
Planning Ahead
Therefore, use the astrology to plan ahead. If you want to arrange a family get-together or put your home on the market, for example, things flow more easily towards the end of July. If you’re currently in a tricky situation where you live, work towards resolution later in the month.
There’s a lot going on this month, which is another reason to kick back and do less not more. Deal with whatever comes your way, be there for other people when you can and take good care of yourself.
One the best ways to use the Mercury retrograde phase is to take a holiday or pilgrimage. You may find that you can’t get to the place you want this month but you discover that where you end up is where you were meant to be all along.
