Cancer is an emotional water sign and an ideal time to make new friends and appreciate old friends. The Full Moon that takes place on July 3rd highlights your connections, also knowledge, learning and experience. This would be a good date to firm up travel plans or sign up for a course or workshop.

Later in the month, it might be more of a challenge to organise your time well and some plans could be postponed or cancelled. The trickiest dates are potentially the 10th and 22nd, when Mercury and the Sun in Cancer clash with Pluto in Capricorn.

This is an old theme for you, but possibly painful nonetheless. It’s important to ask what’s not working out and where you can’t get ahead easily. This could flag up a lack of faith or feeling defeated. If this is true for you, come back to yourself and remind yourself what is possible.

One of the best dates to reach out and open up the lines of communication is July 17th, the day of the New Moon in Cancer, a symbol of new beginnings. Cancer rules your siblings and neighbours, your local community, your neighbourhood. Reach out to other people and ask for support and advice in return.

Use your network and know your allies in the month ahead. Aim to get the right people on your side. In addition, talk things through and express your feelings, even if answers don’t always come easily.

Leo Season

Your ruling planet Venus is in Leo all month, the star sign at the base of your horoscope, ruling your home, your family, your past and the place you come from.

There’s a feel good vibe to this combination, whether you’re celebrating a family anniversary, moving home or welcoming a new addition to the family. Alternatively, you may be back in touch with someone you knew from years ago.

There’s a flow of energy in fire sign Leo with the lovers of the heavens, Venus and Mars, side-by-side until the 10th. Plus, talk planet Mercury is in Leo from the 11th to the 28th and the Sun is in Leo from the 23rd onwards.

Therefore, this would be a wonderful time to gift or help out people close to you and ask for the same in return. Family connections are powerful now and can bring joy, happiness and blessings your way.

However, it is important to notice when you feel as if you’re on the outside of events looking in. This could be relevant for you on the 2nd and the 23rd. Uranus in your star sign Taurus has been teaching you about independence and change.

Venus Retrograde

The other factor to note regarding your ruling planet Venus is that Venus turns retrograde on July 23rd and remains on go slow until September 4th. Venus is the planet of love and relationships. Therefore, there may be some question marks around love when Venus is on go slow.

The general rule is that you’re wise to slow down the pace when it comes to love. Perhaps, you need to be patient with your partner or you’re unsure of your own feelings.

Venus rules love, money and beauty. When retrograde, Venus’ energy is turned inward. Therefore, the most important work you can do when Venus is on go slow is to work on yourself. If you’re in the process of selling or buying property. Venus retrograde could indicate a delay. It can be a similar issue when it comes to tradespeople and having work done on your home.

It’s a good time to slow down the pace in general and this suits your star sign Taurus. Being one of the earth signs, you’re more in touch with your natural sensuality and the flow and rhythm of life and nature. Therefore, don’t feel that you have to rush love or make snap decisions when Venus is retrograde.

Positive Vibes

Finally this month, action planet Mars enters earth sign Virgo on July 10th where it remains until August 27th. This is potentially good news for you as you are one of the sensual, fertile, creative earth signs and you’re likely to be in your element. 

The crackle of change continues to fizz strongly in your horoscope. Yet, ideally you’re happiest when life feels stable and secure, you can move at a leisurely pace and smell the roses. 

Virgo rules ones of the best sectors of your horoscope which is about good times and luck. This planetary vibe feels positive for you. It would be a glorious season to fall in love, make a baby, be proud of your offspring, enjoy yourself, line up top entertainment, start a new hobby or creative project.

Think about what you can ‘give birth to’ or bring into the world as your creative juices could be flowing. This may be one way that Venus retrograde plays out for you, diving deeply into your creative source.

This abundant theme continues throughout the month so make the most of it. Continue to look at how you can improve your social life or find happiness in the small things. This is important moving forward, seeking gratitude and appreciation for what you have in your life.

There is potentially a tricky period when Mars opposes Saturn which takes place on the 20th. Mars opposite Saturn can feel like a roadblock, an obstacle, not getting what you want.

As Saturn is in Pisces and your friendship and group sector, you may clash with a friend or find yourself on the outside of groupthink or a similar scenario. Try not to get overly frustrated if this is true for you. Take a step back and use this period to consider your friendships, notice who lifts you up and who brings you down.
