Work and vocational matters dominate as the month begins. The Sun is in Aquarius and your career and status sector until the 18th. There’s a New Moon as February begins on the 1st and it falls at the peak of your horoscope.
New Moons are synonymous with new beginnings but this New Moon pulls in Saturn, the planet of endings. There may be pressure from a boss or you might be stepping into a new position of responsibility. You may be acutely aware of what you can and can’t achieve on or around this New Moon. Be decisive in your intentions.
Plus, this month’s Full Moon on the 16th highlights the foundations of your life as it cuts across the Leo/Aquarius axis. This is about work and home and getting the balance right. If you need to make a significant work decision, choose the Full Moon to do so. You also have talk planet Mercury back in Aquarius and your career and vocation sector from the 14th onwards.
Looking Ahead
There is another planetary dynamic kicking in this month which suggests that even if work is foreground, you might still be keen to line up new adventures and think about what next. This is partly because action planet Mars is moving through your fellow earth sign Capricorn where it remains until early March.
Capricorn rules travel and study in your horoscope, it’s about the bigger picture in life and looking ahead. In fact, you might want to take a step back from your career or vocational goals so you give yourself space to reassess where you’re heading and why.
Mars isn’t alone in Capricorn either. Talk planet Mercury is here until the 14th. Notice what you hear or read on or around the 4th when Mercury turns direct and is back up to speed. Your plans could get the go-ahead close to this date.
Most importantly for you, your ruling planet Venus has now turned direct in Capricorn and is getting back on track. Venus has been in the future sector of your horoscope for an unusually long time since early November.
Last month could have been testing with Venus retrograde or in retreat. Some plans may have unravelled, you may have felt unsure of your next steps. This month, there’s a theme of progress. Or, at least feeling as if you’re moving in the right direction. This may be linked to money and abundance.
A lot depends on getting the right person or people on your side and this is not a time to go it alone. Venus and Mars are working hand in hand and they unite in Capricorn on the 16th.
This could flag up an alliance, a holiday romance, a long-distance liaison. Alternatively, it may involve a business partnership or getting the right lawyer, adviser or expert. Strengthen your close connections.
Friends & Connections
Friends and connections become more crucial in your life after the 18th once the Sun enters Pisces. This is your group sector, an ideal time to find your people, your tribe. Reach out to others and connect with people who help you tap into your emotions. Pisces is one of the water signs, intuitive and psychic.
You may be wild-swimming with friends or find a creative or artistic group to spend time with and produce works of art together. It’s via your friends and your social interactions where hope and faith can be found. The 23rd and 24th figure highly here so reach out to others and draw more inspiration and beauty into your life.
Jupiter-Uranus
There’s another strong planetary influence this month as one of the major aspects of 2022 takes place on the 18th. On the day that the Sun enters Pisces, big planet Jupiter in Pisces aligns with Uranus in Taurus. These two planets are entrepreneurial and freedom-loving. They represent breakthroughs and leaps of faith.
Take note of this big planetary wave of astrology as innovative Uranus is in your star sign Taurus. Uranus in Taurus is something of a mis-match because Uranus rules change and your star sign Taurus is fixed earth. If you don’t want to be moved, you can dig in your heels and remain doggedly determined or stubborn.
Uranus does bring something new to the mix, however, and then some. In fact, it may be hard to stay put or remain rooted with Uranus in your star sign. And, the Jupiter-Uranus connection will expand your desire to break the mould, to do something different, say yes to life.
Use this key astrology to dream and plot and plan. During February, the stars are calling you towards something greater, to find a sense of meaning, purpose or belonging beyond the self. Whatever else you do this month, state your aims out loud and start your personal process of change and innovation.
Mercury Turning Direct
Here are some guidelines for when the communication planet is moving in the right direction after the 4th:
- try again – second chances are a classic Mercury direct theme
- sort out any misunderstandings
- consider what Mercury retrograde taught you, i.e. where are you wasting your time?
- initiate a conversation, re-open the lines of communication
- write a list – keep it short & deal with what’s most important or urgent in your life
- handle any technological or transport issues
- plug back in & renew your energy & focus

🙂 You’re welcome.
Thank you Sally.
I hope you are feeling better. I read a lot about Pluto coming around this month and I’ve read about a lot going down at 10 downing street plus what’s going here in Canada. Do you think Pluto is playing a part in all of this? I received an astrology reading 10 years ago and she said Pluto came into my chart and I lost my job and had to go to court over it and then I got stage 3 colon cancer. She told Pluto destroys but also rebuilds better is that true?
Kind regards.
Marty
Hi Marty, thanks for your comment. Yes, I think what’s happening right now is a lot about Pluto interacting with the inner planets, especially retrograde. This current wave of intensity ‘peaks’ early March which should bring some kind of completion or ending of what’s been going on over the last couple of years. Pluto can make you stronger for sure, as long as you have a good survival instinct. I’m not sure that Pluto rebuilds – I think it breaks down and it’s how you deal with Pluto whether you emerge stronger or not. I had a similar experience with Pluto going over my Midheaven and losing two big media astrology contracts within 2 weeks. Devastating financially. There was a reinvention but it actually came via Uranus going over my Ascendant – my business went online, so sometimes I think you need another planet involved to help you transform. Hope that makes sense. Take good care.
