This is a month for sowing seeds, perhaps in the garden or greenhouse, but also in life in general. On the 3rd, your ruling planet Venus leaves the emotional waters of Pisces and enters Aries where it will remain for most of the time until early June 2017.
Aries is the first sign of the zodiac and it’s linked to growth, the first bud, new life sprouting forth. So this is a good month to try something new, to ring the changes, to focus on your health and well-being, the mind-body-spirit connection.
Aries is the most hidden sector of your chart, the sign before Taurus, so this is also about preparing the way for something new. You might be working behind the scenes, doing research or studying, you may be looking into a new personal venture but this is only the planning stage.
Often self-care becomes a priority when you have planets hidden away in your chart. The most valuable time is time spent alone, inner work, more solitude than usual. This is a positive period for any form of self-development, learning more about yourself, reading books that offer insight and advice.
You may be holding on to a secret or confidence, something that’s personal to you and whatever you start or is foreground at the beginning of February is likely to remain hidden for the next few months. Action planet Mars is in this same sector of your chart so this adds a sense of urgency, feeling driven, wanting to sort things out and now.
In love and relationships, this can flag up a forbidden love or a secret liaison, unrequited feelings. Sometimes you find you’re changing on the inside and this has a knock-on effect in your 1-to-1’s, your close relationships. If you sense that a relationship is at a sensitive phase, try to keep things stable for now and wait until later in the year before making any major love decision.
It’s also important to notice whether you’re chasing after someone. Venus enters Aries on the 3rd and starts to move towards Mars in Aries. Yet the two never meet and next month, Venus will begin to retreat and move away. So notice where your feelings lie, who you’re being drawn towards and why and look for any hidden motivations on your part.
Mars is currently the stronger of the two and Mars is your partner planet. It’s important now to feel your way forward carefully but beware of rushing into anything, unless of course you’re more than ready to grab some excitement in life.
Mars has its own agenda and the 22nd and 27th could be important in this respect. This is when Mars clashes with the slower moving planets, Jupiter, Uranus and Pluto and events in your partner’s life may suddenly take an unexpected turn. Passionate actions will have consequences in the month ahead.
This is also a significant time of year because there are two eclipses and these often coincide with a theme of change. This month in particular is about endings and new beginnings, what you’re ready to let go of or move away from and what you want to do differently.
The solar eclipse on the 26th is the last in an eclipse cycle which began in March 2015. This cycle focused on the signs of Virgo and Pisces so for you this is about friendship, group activities, your creative skills. During this eclipse cycle, you find your place within a group of people, either as a leader or role model. You make important decisions about parenting or passing on what you know.
The Solar or New Moon eclipse on the 26th falls in Pisces and your friendship and group sector. This could be a highly creative period as Neptune and Mercury are also in Pisces during the eclipse. This highlights your dreams and imagination, being inspired, finding a new group of people with whom you share similar creative or spiritual goals.
Yet this eclipse could also be about letting go of something in your life, whether a friendship is fading away or you recognise that it’s time to move on from one set, one group in your life. This is either the end of the road or an inspiring new beginning, or both.
The most important eclipse for you however is the Lunar or Full Moon Eclipse which takes place on the 11th. This lights up your home and work sectors and this is a relatively new eclipse cycle focusing on the signs Leo and Aquarius.
There was an ‘almost eclipse’ back in August 2016 and events then could be linked to what’s happening now in your life. This eclipse might bring significant change on the work front or home and family front or perhaps you’re the one who’s ready to do things differently.
This eclipse pulls in different planets so there’s support from other people and other factors to take into account. You might be making a move that will benefit you financially in the long-term; you might be changing things around so you prioritise your health and well-being or perhaps there’s another personal reason why you want to stop and decide what next.
Look out for new opportunities that come your way now and the weekend of the 10th/11th could be pivotal in this respect. There’s a stunning Sun-Jupiter trine aspect on Saturday 11th that lights up the work and career sectors of your chart.
If you want to break free from a routine job, here’s your chance. If you want to turn things around to modernise your work or update what you do in some way, this too is bang on target. It’s important now to be true to who you are, to keep your eye on the bigger picture and do what you can to set things up in life so they work for you.
It won’t always be easily especially if issues at home or within your family require your time and attention. Yet think of this month as a chance to reorient your compass and decide where you’re heading in the future, whether change comes from external events or you’re the one who’s eager to start anew.
